This app is very accurate when tapping along with the excercises. Often time directors need a band to be right on or slightly ahead of the beat which this app provides with great accuracy. Some other great things about this app are the levels where you tap two beats at once. This skill is great for all musicians especially for drummers and pianist. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is because the developers did not cover the odd meters that a musician must know such as 7/8, 5/4, etc. Also I think they did not cover quadruple division of the beat which is another standard among musicians. However, I may be wrong about the quadruple division, but when I was looking it didn't seem to be there.

I really want to love this app; the layout, the levels etc is all great. However in order to get the perfect score I have to hit earlier than on the metronome beat. It would be better for my kids if there was an option for making it close enough.

by U####:

This would be easier to read if the shorter notes were grouped together with beams by beat, instead of all of them being separate. Nobody writes music like that - flags everywhere from 8th's and 16th's. Also, it might be a good idea to give a couple of measures of countdown before a rhythm in 2/4 time since the first beat doesn't always sound and it makes it really difficult to get an idea of the tempo when you've only got one beat before the rhythm starts to go on. Just some ideas for improvement - I like that there's such a wide range of difficulty level in the game.

I think the confusion is not because of latency, but due to the wierd motion of bars. Every time that i memorized a short pattern looking ahead i played it in perfect time. When i read and play simultaneously it becomes more difficult to stay in time. So ithink it would be better moving the score with a constant velocity. Overall awesome app!

It's a pretty good app for working on fundamental rhythm skills. I feel myself improving and getting excited about practicing these basic skills that can sometimes be seen as a chore. My only gripe is the reinforcement of getting notes correct, as someone who has not worked on my basic rhythm skills as much, I'm sometimes confused as to why I miss a note or whether I am in front of or behind the beat.

I've tried a lot of apps and this one is what I was looking for to learn/practice rhythm. I gave a 4 because the ads tend to crash the app, which is like pouring salt in the wound. And it could come with a short tutorial. Other than that it's well-made and worth the download.

Has potentional to be great but at the end of each bar its not always a smpoth transition causing errors. Add note presentation type's like side scrolling smootly or bar by bar (it currentlt works some half assed inbetween which is frustrating and causes errors and could actually set some one back with ryhthm. Rhythm is not played only measure by measure. What makes it rhythm is what happens after count 4....

I really want to like this app. It's fun and engaging and I have no issues with latency. But the way the notes are organized with respect to the pulse is just confusing. There's a lot of subtle psychology involved in notating rhythm in sheet music to always allow an easy reference to the pulse. And in sheet music you wouldn't write an 8th rest, a quarter note and another 8th rest because this tricks the eye into believing that the quarter note is a downbeat. You would instead notate the quarter note as two tied 8ths notes and have a little bit more spacing between them. Also, consecutive 8ths or 16ths notes don't have connected stems, which is a no-go in sheet music for the aforementioned reasons. Those issues not only make the later levels unnecessary hard, they also force you to learn a notation that's not actually used in sheet music. Those changes would make this app a real winner!

Excellent app thanks!!! Some suggestions to the developers: * could you add an option to disable painting the notes and rests? I feel that the coloring is helpful but my brain gets used to it and I find myself using more the coloring and the movement of the screen to calculate when to hit the button than the metronome. * The levels that aren't multi-score could use a different screen movement that moves scores from bottom to top instead of right to left so you don't rely on screen movement to aid hitting the button. This could have two scores on screen anytime. I think this is much more difficult to implement..bars must have some fixed size...etc.

Been looking for a way to tighten my timing. Sometimes my phone lags but thats not the fault of the app. First day and Im already experiencing improved sense of rhythm. Thanks

Not coming up the conservatory route, this helps me to stay sharp when i have nothing else to read...infinitely less expensive than buying score after score, having this software as part of your musical arsenal is a no-brainer...

No instructions. Tried tapping the notes in time, did nothing. Latencey issues. No instructions so don't know what or how.

Great! Finished it! Need more levels! Would be good to be glad to change tempo and take out some of the murky random background colours (I find some colours help me focus more than others that's interesting!) Bu simple was and effective and fun! Thank you for the app!

I am an intermediate skilled musician, but I am still finding this software usefull. I breezed through the first 12 levels, then it started to get really hard. I will see if the timing translates to playing an actual instrument. One major downside. The tempo can not be changed and the music doesn't change either. I have a Samsung tab 4 and I don't get any lag.

There are some big problems with Android's audio latency, and this app nicely sidesteps them to deliver a genuinely useful rhythm tutor. It will be pushed on my students! An option to add an accent on the one beat for the metronome, changing the sounds to something bassy on the bass and trebly on the treble for the two part exercises, and giving some kind of continuity to the weird random background colours would improve things nicely. Tempo options would be nice too. Thanks for another good and useful app.

X70%

The lag between the start of the exercise and the countdown is very considerable. It would be great to have the option of changing the tempo and the number of countdowns before beginning the exercise. Also, some added variability in the repetition of levels would be great. Other than that, very good and helpful app! More levels and content please!

THERE 'S ANY FAULT. NO . BUT GIVE MORE CHANCES TO STUDENTS OF WESTERN MUSIC AND MUSIC IS ITSELF RHYTHM. I HOPE YOU SHALL MAKE MASTER IN NANO SECOND BEAT TO PER MINUTE TO LOVERS OF MUSIC. THANKS GREAT TO MAKE SUCH THE BEST APP.

I generally appreciate the app's approach, but in practice it's just not useful because of the latency. I'm using one of the fastest cleanest cell phones on the planet, but it isn't possible to score unless I click milliseconds before the beat. I mean simple tests like whole notes, half notes and quarter notes without even any variation. I wasted 15 minutes looking for something I might have missed. Nope. A rhythm app is just not helpful with this much latency. Also, the ads interrupt. I'll keep looking.

Educational and entertaining. Really good. No time lag problem seen on my samsung tab so far like other reviews say. I was already familiar with the notes and rest and knew how they play, so for a totally new learner I don't know if the instructions are clear enough.

I was looking for something to help my son with his sight reading. This is really good. Has some quite complex rhythms. Yes the lag is annoying but the app is still helpful. It would also be really helpful if the bars could be randomised so we aren't just learning the rythms. Overall great app! Thanks. :-)

X70%

The apply is very good and does what it says. Good rhythm reading and learning tool. What I would suggest is to add "prolonged tap" option. The player should hold its finger until the note duration expires, like on a piano.

I am alright with the beginning rhythms but needed to work on the harder ones. This app helps me to do that. One question what is the difference between this version and the pro version? Also screen has begun to flip around during play. Would be helpful to lock screen orientation.

This App has really helped me establish a sense of rhythm. Being a pianist, I think knowing different rhythms is crucial, and this App is really good in the sense that it gradually gets more difficult in subsequent levels. 57/66 Golds so far, hoping I get them all!

This seems like it could be a good app, but I'm having issues with it. When I tap on it the app doesn't register. Also, it would be nice if there were actual instructions on the home page.

This is amazing! I would love to have repeating patterns (grooves) as well as more than 2 buttons (like for drums). Would be nice to be able to raise tempo for more difficulty. I see this as a practice tool more than a game.

Very good app! Had a friend who said he'd always wanted to play guitar, but didn't have any rhythm. This app gave him the confidence to learn a few chords! I use it a few minutes a day, and can tell a difference in my strumming when I play with a metronome.

I'd been looking for a rhythm game for a long time that went up to the more advanced levels that I needed. Now I've finally found it! I'm a piano teacher and I also frequently recommend it to my students.

Hoping this is gonna help a bunch with my rhythms. My only wish is that they'd allow you to hold a note by keeping your finger on the screen for the duration of it's value, instead of just tapping it once for the whole value of the note

X70%
by X####:

Great exercises and a good variety of them. It would be nice if it could also count the duration of the note the user plays though. For example, if the exercise calls for a half note and I only play a quarter note, it will be counted as correct as long as I hit it at the right moment even though I am releasing it too early.

Perfect for beginning or advanced musicians! Makes it fun and easy to familiarize yourself with common rhythms and practice sight reading. Simply follow along and tap the screen to match the beat. Simple metronome makes it easy to keep a steady tempo

Lag, can't adjust tempo. I will come back to it if I can't find an option with no lag.
