Met Éireann for Android
Good app, but sometimes the notification gets frozen on screen. Needs restart to resolve AFAIK. HTC One running Android 5.0
The content in this app is incredibly weak. Why bother having separate categories for Leinster and Dublin if you are just going to copy and paste the two sentence report . Need to take out the Dublin category if the forecasters are not taking it seriously. Lame!!!
Easy to use. The down side is if it's raining it does not always show on rainfall radar.
If tax payers money are used on this app it is a waste of money! No map, no weather by the hour, same old fashioned Met Eireann style used...
Terribly poor effort at a weather app. Basic isn't the word. Don't waste time installing. Weather channel app is far superior.
The back button exits the whole app. It seems like it's just a direct copy of an apple app with no consideration for Android systems. It's not a natural feeling to go to the top of the screen to go back. As mentioned in other reviews, changing screens means the app fully reloads every time you go back to it, which is weird and annoying. Good information otherwise, but would be nice to have long-range forecasts (even 5 day) available too.
No future images for rain radar makes one sad. :-( just past few hours....your living in the past Ireland...Stop living in the past.
Nice app that does what it says with no drama, almost real time rain radar is very handy if you're planning something that doesn't mix with well water.
Great app but why dont you have a predicted rainfall map and i dont want to know what the weather was like an hour ago
This is just the mobile website stuck into a webview within the app. I can just go to their website to get the same information. Also, their mobile side is missing lots of information from their main site. I would love to see a nice user friendly native app with all the goodies from their website. This is frustrating because met eireann is always the best place to get the weather and most accurate in Ireland; and to top it off, it doesn't even have a widget.
Whats the point in a rain radar that shows whats happened over the last 3 hours? I already know what its done over the last 3 hours. What I need is a radar predictor for the next 3 hours. Useless app
Hard to know what the options will actually do until you click and see. Website is as bad, just has even more options to be confused about

Great app. I use it every day to check the radar along with the forecast. An absolute must have for any Irish person with our unpredictable weather!
Showers and sunny spells, heavier rain to the west. Basic and uninformative but does have rainfall animation to save it.
Lacking in sufficient detail and depth. This very basic level might have been acceptable in the past but in today's terms is informationally poor.
Only issue is that the irish radar map does not scroll properly on nexus 7.Cannot see southern ireland .Map to large.
After downloading and installing it, I realised that by just bookmarking the web page, I would have the exact same information in the exact same way. It doesn't have any widgets or hourly updates, so I really cannot see the point in it atall.
Without the excellent 5 day forecast in the met eireann website this app falls short for me. Maybe good in other respects though.
Much too slow and exactly same as website. Its quicker and easier to just add a bookmark for the website on your desktop. Save time and space.

When you exit the app by going home or turning the screen off, the app needs to reload from scratch when going back to it. This can take a while if you have a slow connection. There is a lovely refresh button in the app already, so why not let the app stay in memory? Also it would be nice to have the five day forecast with wind, wave etc. like the website.
No notification alerts, UI is like 10 years old. Definitely need to invest some money to update into a proper app

Worked fine until the new android update, now sometimes it just won't open.
Needs access to media files etc and call logs....why????Big brother is watching! !deleted it
I anyway use the website to get the short-range and other forecasts, because this app DOESN'T have the best features from the website. What's the point?
Lately it takes more than one time to open this app. A bit annoying.
Love the app the radar rainfall feature is pretty cool let's you see what's coming, permanent fixture on my phone
Love the rainfall radar, can see it coming
Worst weather app I've seen. Rainfall radar u can hardy see it or press the buttons. No five day weather or short range forecast maps. I downloaded this for rainfall radar map so waste of time.

I can't understand why you leave out the 6 counties. Why? Deleted after 2 minutes as Derry can't be selected.
Wonderful app. Just saves going to met.ie . Would like to see a 5 day forecast regionally though.
Use it for work, very very accurate and saves me a lot of hassle getting things done before bad weather hits
Great app to have works well no problems installing or using. Five stars no problem
Good handy app.. complicated to use it at the start

App tells of Irish weather, easy to use

Excellent app. Simple, and runs very fast. I love the rainfall radar especially, very useful in Ireland! You can also configure the app screens to suit you own needs, so can remove options you don't need. Nice.
