As a father, I read that kitchen timers were a great way to encourage children to stay on task with longer processes (cleaning, eating, washing, picking up). The subtle "tick-tick-tick" of an audible countdown turns the task into a race that children want to win!
Unfortunately, I could not find an Android app to accomplish the same goal, so I quickly wrote this one. The bright colors, disappearing disks, and subtle sound are designed to gently remind and coax children to keep at their current assignment until the task is finished. Children win. Parents win. Peace in the home wins.
A friend suggested that the app may also function as a visual speech or presentation timer for adults. A silent (with sounds disabled) and helpful cue.
Feedback is welcome and encouraged.
** Hint for parents: Ensure the child wins the first few times you use it. Either small tasks accomplished quickly, or medium tasks with LONG LONG timers.

Am I missing something? How are we supposed to make the music stop? This is almost an incredible app - and its absolutely a great idea! I will use it regardless, but I don't like having to close the app just to shut off the music.
