CycleStreets UK Map Pack for Android
A small thing, but why not make the icon a different colour to differentiate between apps. Please :)
Great app addition but would have been better if the ncn routes were shown and labeled
App needs to be online to create a route. You cannot run purely offline. Not good if you're going abroad with expensive data charges. May take another look if offline routing is added.
You would think this would load the 700 cycle route Coast to Coast. But no.
Why not use Google maps
Meh! Positive: it's free! The maps are accurate! Negative: the vector maps lack the cycle routes in any clarity. And (and it's a big AND) can't move the maps to the SD card! And for a map pack of several hundred MB's this is a real downside for me unfortunately. There's a 5* waiting for when / if this gets resolved
Downloading map tiles is not always possible so I'm glad o have the option of offline vector maps. BUT these maps do not show cycle routes e.g. NCN or London Superhighways like the online OpenCycleMap tiles do. This is a major shortcoming of the offline maps!
Would like map to orient to direction of travel in liveride. Panning map can be slow and cause crashes. However, 5 stars for value of key functions.
Crash when loading
This application is great. But with this offline map pack thrown in for free, it tops the list for me. Your posh, well designed apps with expensive UI graphics are nothing compared to a well engineered app with a simple but well executed idea. Offline maps, no need for a genius bar...
Otherwise very functional app when working
You will cycle routes you never knew where there. Not best routes for speed but for pleasure
This is a large data file that can't be moved to the sdcard. 'Move to sdcard' does not actually 'move' the file. It just remains in the phone's Android data subdirectory. It's a large file, so this is an issue that needs to be addressed by the developers. I hope it gets fixed. This is a problem for Sony Xperia E1 and Samsung S4 mini running Android Kitkat

Off line maps really useful, and after a week in the lakes all footpaths etc seem to be very accurate. Recommended.
Useful app though routeing can be a little non linear :-)
This does exactly what you want a cycle route planner to do. I always check routes with it.
It should be possible to be able to install (or move) all of the offline map to the SD card. Otherwise a large chunk of phone memory is used up.
Thank you to all those who wrote this app and provided it free for us to use. I have not found any other app to provide this level of information and planning guidance. Yes it freezes occasionally, can be slow to load, but it works!

This download of the entire UK mapping for offline use sets THE standard for all other similar apps. A very big thank-you.
This app is great and much more cycle-friendly than google or tfl as it understands gradient and volume of traffic.
Fabulous for planning routes!
Absolutely delighted with this app. What could be more useful than an offline map of the whole UK? Well done Cycle Streets.
Poor. Routes suggested roads when perfectly good cyclepath.
Invaluable
This is a fantastic app that has revolutionised the way I cycle, helping me find places and facilities that I'd never have known existed without it. The UI can be quirky and unintuitive, and the liveride navigation feature can need its settings adjusted and a bit of getting used to not to be confusing. That said, it's worth every bit of effort.
Great detail to maps but tiles are very slow to load. A small point is that it would be nice if the icon disappeared after maps have been downloaded: it's unnecessary once it's merely another shortcut to the main app. Otherwise very happy with the maps, thanks.
Surely this is a huge problem; cycle route planner with offline maps that don't show cycle routes? Would also be better if you could view elevation data for planned routes.
With the offline maps there is a fundamental flaw, the NCN Routes are not available in the offline vector maps. This a real shame - they are available if you use the open cycle maps - but bet your bottom dollar when your in the middle of the Pennines or the highlands you're not getting a 3G signal for it to be any use. SHAME!
Brilliant app perfect for exploring bridleways. It'd be great to get some sort of offroad route planning capability.
Love this app, more smooth and speedy than other cycle apps out there. I wish the downloadable offline maps marked the Cycle routes like the online maps do. The ones marked in blue or red. This is because I don't like to use a journey planner with directions, I prefer to open the app to see what cycle routes I can connect with along the way, and plan my journey. Thanks so much and keep up the good work. Have donated ;-)

Due to error please sort out ;-).

Needs more cycling options such as mountain bike or road bike. App told me to go across a farm on my road bike. Should give option to calculate alternative route around bits we don't like.
