Provide a speedometer and compass widget which can be used in Car Dock Home v3, or any other widget supporting app, while in car mode.
Uses the gps for speed and bearing. It does not use compass sensor in device, so you will have to be moving to see any change in direction.
Tap the widget to bring up prefs screen... Options are:
MPH or KM/H display
Font for speedometer reading
Color of speedo and compass
Background color of the widget
Transparency control of that background.
You might not see speed unit change until the next update from the GPS. If the gps is not sending updates, "NO GPS" will be displayed. Updates are requested from your phone at maximum update frequency. When not in car mode, it will also show "NO GPS" as it does not receive gps updates outside of car mode.

Developer listened to users mentioning difficulty reading speed display in sunlight and fixed it. Speed color option works only when docked & GPS on.

I have a Droid 3 with the vehicle dock and like this and car dock v3 much better than the motorola apps. Nice to have speed on my home page and much easier to read than the speedometer in motorola's map app. There is a little lag occasionally, most noticeable under acceleration and braking.

Great app... The numbers should turn yellow when speed limit reached and red when over by a preset (see telenav)

It would be great to have an option to enable/disable compass. One more and maybe more important thing is to have a speed limit alarm (color and sound).

Speed has significant lag. Compass is very unnatural unintuitive backward upside down and lame. I'm surprised....the Car Dock v3 is nice app.

Does the job nicely, new fonts make it easy to view. However as requested by others, please remove the compass or at least make it optional, I've no use for it plus it makes the widget unnecessary wide, without it the speedo could easily fit into a 1x1 space which would be a terrific improvement.

It is way too small even when resizing on motordroid. Plus it's impossible to place the widget in upper right corner.
