Oxford Bus and X90 m-Tickets for Android
When purchasing mobile tickets you are deceptively not told at the point of sale that these tickets are only valid for six months. This has essentially meant that this company has earned money without having provided a service. The app also tries to encourage you to remove automatically expired tickets, in other words free money they've gained for no service, on false pretenses of saving space. Will try and get a refund or new tickets on mine and will update this post if this was resolved.
Keeps telling me it can't connect to the internet, even though I'm on super fast broadband at home with all other apps on my phone having no problems connecting, including an Arriva ticket app...
App crashed when I boarded the bus. Not very reliable. Better to stick with the Key card until they sort this out. Or just wait for when they implement contactless on their fleet.
Since an awkward update, the app breaks and loses my tickets. Rude bus drivers of course want me to pay twice. Between locking up my phone and losing my tickets, it's just not worth the hassle. And when I've paid for a ticket and it's the company's app that breaks down, I expect them to have some way to support it and back it up.
Do NOT rely on this app! App is massively unreliable and has to be uninstalled and reinstalled frequently for it to 'work'. Frequent network errors (Despite having 4G), error L449 not allowing payments; it' absolutely terrible. The servers are frequently slow too, which means that both Android and iPhone apps will slow down at peak times.
Your app has let me down on many occasions. Every time I open it, it crashes. One time I had to wait for another bus because the app wasn't working. This morning I couldn't log in, I changed my password twice, still can't log in. Whatever update you applied, broke the app for me.
App is unstable and keeps crashing. Furthermore an extremely irritating limitation came up in registering the credit card. It had a field asking for my date of birth "so we can best determine your needs". Clicking on this produced a calendar window set to August 1998 ( presumably you must be at least 18 to use the app). As far as I could see the ONLY way to interact with the calendar or change the date was to scroll forward or back one month at a time. Since my birthday is in March 1958, I was obliged to scroll back 485 times to get to the correct date! Needless to say this is absolutely ludicrous given most apps requiring a date provide a scrolling combo box for the year.
But that's about it. Needs live timetable and bus stops marked on overlay Google Maps to be a really useful app. Maybe Oxford busses should go the contactless payment route, job done!
Brought a ticket and it never came through. It said I'd get a receipt i never did. Needs work and I want a refund.
Brazenly insists there is no internet immediately after being installed. 'How do you think you got here?' I'd like to ask it.
The app has serious issues with loading and crashes. I always try to load the app way before I reach the bus stop so that I can actually validate my ticket. However, on a few occasions, the app would not load for minutes and some drivers refused me to board. AWFUL, fix this app or do not provide such a bad service.
Just stop and start again with a decent app developer. App is prone to crashing, tickets purchased disappear. Please unpublish this app.
Bought a ticket on here and it was immediately expired. Tried to get customer service help and they couldn't resolve it. Ended up robbing me of 24 pounds.
* Can't buy singles or returns - only passes * Asks for too many permissions (camera?) * Requires sign up before you can even see what it does * Doesn't validate emails properly
I've never had issues with the iOS app, but on android I've had it freeze on a few occasions when showing it to the driver. On one of those occasions I had to buy another ticket.
A recent update has left this useless with constant crashes within seconds of loading. Even when it worked it was utterly unintuitive.
This app is totally unfit for purpose. I've bought tickets twice and twice they've disappeared from my phone before I could use them. It doesn't even rate one star. It is a rip off.
App keeps crashing before it even opens so I can't access my tickets...
Glitch caused my ticket to expire early
Wasn't able to add tickets to basket, not much use really.
Crashes all the time, a big problem when it does this as you board. Needs fixing ASAP
Can't buy my Thames Travel 10 trip ticket. Useless.
Do not accept my loguin.
Won't let me login with my account, it says that my email isn't associated with an account, even though it is and I sign in online no problem.
Keeps crashing on my phone
Potentially useful app, but it does crash a lot and still needs some work.
Can't complete any transactions. Guess this place doesn't want my business.
Didn't even open, piece of trash, immediate delete
Terrible app
Good application
Useless
A bit clunky, but it does what it's supposed to do - well, some of the time. All too frequently it crashes, which is usually as you start the app when stepping onto a bus, leading to a moment of embarrassment as the driver and passengers wait for you to retrieve your e-ticket. Needs an offline mode. Also, the amount of permissions required is ridiculous - camera, really?
worked perfectly well when I used it
I use LG G4 and have no crash so far, a return ticket purchased successfully with PayPal, very convenient! After payment go through, conformation email will send to you so even the app is crashed at the moment you stepped onto the bus, you can still show your email to the bus driver.
Any bug fixes in this release? So annoying, especially just as I'm about to board the coach and then it seems to irreparably crash so i have pay in cash. If i have cash, otherwise i can't travel even though I've bought a ticket. Most embarrassing and humiliating in front of smug driver and waiting passengers. Would be good to include an offline schedule too, as well as integration with oxontime.
After re-installing the app, all my tickets are gone. A *lot* of money down the drain
Won't accept existing log-in for Oxford Bus Company even though it says it does. You can buy airline tickets but only without seat reservation.

But now the 12 trip option seems to cost double

This app has terrible error handling. It lets you sign up with an invalid password then keeps failing until you do a password reset, where the reset page tells you what characters are needed. Other errors give no indication as to what is wrong or how to fix it. It allows you to define two credit cards with the same number and then seems to randomly choose between them. Finally you can't edit credit card details, just add new ones and remove old ones. Without the £5 discount I would have given up.
