FREE 3v Geodome Calculator for Android
does not "give" strut lenghts as shown in descrip pics-its "useless"!!
Good job . If you can add the high will be nice
I really like this tool. It's clean and simple. I noticed the quantities are a little off. They don't match the image. It seems that quantities are correct for a 4/9 dome, but the image depicts a 5/9 dome. I agree that angles, as well as 2- and 4-frequency calcs, would be great. I also think 1-frequency calcs (just a plain, truncated icosahedron) might be handy. Thank you for building this app.
The units are basic, if your project is say 15 feet radius plug in 15 the strut calculator won't care the units you will get strut lengths in feet. Multiply feet unit by 12 to get inches. Input the result and you will get strut lengths in inches. Multiply your inch unit conversion to millimeters by multiplying by 25.4 and you will get strut lengths in millimeter. Remember to follow your units all the way through the proper conversion process. You will likely need to restart the app between unit changes
The app does the job! No matter what app can be improved, but the only recommendation I can give is to add Dome building advise, tips, tricks. If you allow, I will share your app in my Dome sales network. Cheers!
You could add in the angles of cut (assuming the person used wood to construct) and are these measurements meters or standard?
Wish I could post an image of our dome when it's built.
Measurment labeling please, angles of cut, say a compound 12.5 degree miter with a 60 degree tip. And a 2v and 4v would be great. I would also pay a little more for it. 2.99 or 3.99. If there were more features.
Like it just two things. On the galaxy s5 if I want to do multiple calculations I have to restart the app. This may be due to SwiftKey tho. Also not sure what unit of measuring it is in inch or cm/mm. I assume no unit is stated so I can choose which unit I am using. If the creator could clarify would. Helpful otherwise great program
Why not have 2v and 4v as well?
