▣ 박완서 소설전집이란?
박완서 서거 1주기에 맞춰 생전에 작가가 직접 손봐온 유작 원고를 묶은 세트 『박완서 소설전집 결정판』. 2011년 10월 20일 작가의 팔순에 맞춰 출간할 예정이었던 기획으로, 원고를 다듬어나가던 작가가 담낭암으로 타계한 뒤 함께해온 기획위원들과 작가의 후손들이 이어받아 원고를 다듬어 펴냈다. 작가의 등단작 《나목》, 작가의 유년 시절부터 청년 시절까지를 그린 자전소설 《그 많던 싱아는 누가 다 먹었을까》, 《그 산이 정말 거기 있었을까》를 비롯하여 최근 장편소설 《그 남자네집》 등이 포함되어 있으며, 작가의 유일한 연작소설 《엄마의 말뚝》도 만날 수 있다. 80년 동안 쌓아온 삶의 언어들이 담겨 있어 박완서의 작품 세계를 순서대로 짚어보기에 좋다.
