Nimbus: NOAA Weather & Radar for Android
Update needed. Badly. Then we'll review.
Really this is a great app! Please just a small update!
I've been looking for an alternative weather app using the NWS/NOAA data source and finally stumbled upon this. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the other weather app, but it works!
Badly. Then we'll review.
Great layout, radar and features, but badly needs widgets.......
Graphs would be nice, but still great as is.
For including the forecast discussion
Alsome app
Also it needs a widget and alerts notifications.
Great app! Clean, lightweight, easy on the eyes and has just the right amount of accurate info. The only thing I would like it to have is the temp in the notification bar and an option to receive emergency or severe weather alerts in my area.
I love this app. A lot of information in a simple to use interface. The one thing that keeps it from being perfect is that it doesn't have any notifications including severe weather notifications (at least I don't have any showing up in my notification bar and I can't find any settings for them) . I have to keep another weather app installed in order to receive them. PLEASE ADD NOTIFICATIONS! But otherwise a wonderful app!
Add that request to a radar that differentiates rain from snow (see Radar Express NOAA developed app that does that) and you'll have a 5 star winner.
Nice app but will have to uninstall cuz it doesn't automatically refresh your current location...sorry but will re-visit after another update
Nice wish it had widget, then 5 stars
Can u make a widget it would be a 5 star
I've used the weather app Radar Express for a while now, but I think that I'll switch to Nimbus. First, no ads, which is a big plus for me. Second, nice use of material design guidelines. I agree that a widget would be nice, but not a deal breaker by any means.
Not able to set other locations. No hourly forecast available.
Spun around and never loaded my location.
Been using this app for a while. Still great and accurate, but I think the developer has given up on it. Last update was Dec 2014.
Beautiful, just add wear support and maybe some widgets
Crashes on starting. Unusable.
Your app was unable to get my position....sorry
Also it needs a widget and alerts notifications.
Just with I could hide the map at the top (kinda worthless and IMO breaks up an otherwise beautiful app) and hide/swipe away weather alerts. Other than that its an awesome app. Keep it up Dev
Been using this for a little bit and so far it's great. Though I agree that the map at the top seems pointless. Might be better if it showed the radar with an option to pull down to expand it. It would also be nice to manually organize the city list and set a default city for the app to open to. Definitely would like to see a paid version to remove ads as well. And while I don't need an app to show me too much info, having sunrise/ sunset time would be nice. Looking forward to future updates.
The information this app gives is perfect. Very detailed and very easy to navigate. The design is very nice and it's very speedy. I'm going to stop saying very now. Great job with this app! Would like an ad free version though. I'd pay for this app.
It has everything I want to know, with no extra BS, and a clean, easy to read design. Out of all the apps I've tried that use NWS forecasts, this is hands down the best looking one.
I hope this gets more updates despite the fact that this doesn't have many downloads.
Wish there was a paid version to remove ads and for the option to have widgets though!
Please create a separate activity for the radar map. Then 5 stars. Update: I give this 5 stars. This is actually an outstanding app. Simple design with material/Google Now elements. I'm digging the whole layout from top to bottom. We'll see about accuracy, but for now, I've uninstalled all other weather apps.
One of a few apps that uses NOAA's data, which is a huge selling point for me. I also love the material look, which is a big plus. Thank you for making this app. I hope to see more come out of it in the future.
Several NOAA apps out there and this a good one. The hourly forecast needs a dewpoint for each hour. Also, an average radar. See Radar Express as an example of a NOAA developed app that does that.
This is a beautiful app with material design. The main problems I have encountered are with the radar. It defaults to central america when I live in Minnesota, and it also feels laggy, as well as including ground clutter in the radar image. Fix these and this will be tops!
Keep it up, great app. Please please please provide a paid version that would remove the ads!
Beautiful. Ads gotta go though.
The map at the top offers no function and should probably be removed. Otherwise great
Beautiful application with arguably the best source for weather data but ads without a way of removing them destroy this otherwise excellent app
Several NOAA/NWS apps out there and this a good one. The hourly forecast needs a dewpoint for each hour. Also, an average radar that needs a "legend" to better show rain vs. snow. Also not sure of the purpose of the map that launches at the top of the home page. It's small and you can't enlarge it.
Love using this in the US, but in overseas and it's got nothing.
