يطوفُ القلب بين أزهار هذا الكتاب يقطف منها تارةً على مهل وأخرى على عجل، فقد عرض فيه ابن الجوزي رحمه الله ألواناً من الناس يختلفون باختلاف مشاربهم وحياتهم، فتناول الأمراء والوزراء والفقهاء والقضاة.. وراح يدون ما عرف عنهم من فكرة طارئة أو عبارة نافذة أو ملحة طريفة تدل على ذكاء صاحب الموقف أو الحكاية منهم.

مؤلف الكتاب هو جمال الدين أبو الفرج عبدالرحمن بن علي بن محمد الجوزي المتوفي : ٥٩٧ هجريه Book smart
