Graphical viewer for GEDCOM genealogy files (.ged) that allows you to pan tilt and zoom a family tree by dragging and pinching. Choose one individual as the base of the display. A tree of descendants and ancestors will be shown. It features:
* Drag the view to scroll around.
* Pinch with two fingers to zoom in or out.
* Double tap on background to zoom in or out.
* Single tap on a name to show more info.
* Double tap on a name to base the tree on that person.
* Long tap on a name to base the tree on that person.
* Search for persons by typing (partial) first and/or last name.
* Keeps a history of shown graphs and searches accessible from the back button.
* Scales the UI to support large and small devices with varying resolution.
* Shows marriage dates and divorces in the long-click popup.
* Configurable number of generations (both descendants and ancestors) shown.
* Different codecs supported (utf-8, ascii, latin_1, ansel).
To use your own gedcom files, they need to be transferred to your device. This can be done in several different ways, including:
* Mailing them to yourself and downloading them
* Copying them over USB
* Copying them to an SD card
* Using online file services such as www.dropbox.com
Once the file is on your device choose it in the Downloads app or in a file browser app such as My Files. You can also use the Open... button in the menu from within GedTree.

nice simple app that works well on Android, I would give it full stars if I could get it to work on a chromebook . It loads and works well with the sample family but when I try to load my family I get an error that says that I should try different settings on the menu. Now that's the problem , it does not have a menu button built into the App so that it can be configured, on an Android you can use the phones menu button to open the apps menu but there does not seem to be one on chromebook, could you please build the menu into the APP itself like the three vertical dots that other apps has.

Upgraded to a galaxy note5 and now the app doesn't have the menu. I can't point it to my gds file, it only displays the default tree.

WONT PAY UNLESS THE BENEFITS OF PAYING ARE LISTED . Would buy this if it had dates in view and also if I knew what features the paid version has over the free ? But mainly Android needs a Tree app just like this but with the dates in view ie birth/death , as it could then be used as a quick lightweight tree reference while researching , as there isnt one available on the market !

As a simple GED file viewer it does the job extremely well although a little slow. I haven't yet found a way of sharing the graph. Will purchase if it offers something more. WHAT MORE DOES THE PAID VERSION OFFER.

Installed this app then downloaded a .ged file. Couldn't get the app to display anything but what is apparently a small sample file. Tried selecting the .ged file and also tried "scan disk" within the app but nothing worked. Also, the options menu screen text overlays itself so nothing is readable. Had hopes for this app but was not a success.

Complete rubbish. Really slow, connot select ansel format as it hangs there. Spent 2 days trying to get it to display a gedcom.

Will not recognize GED files for me made from PAF, AQ, or FTM. Error message says line must start with an integer level.
