File Explorer for Android
It is annoying when you're deleting music files and once youve deleted one song, the program throws you back at the top of your file list. Also, I just looked through my music files via the HTC media list and although I was unable to play a delted song, it still shows in the library. I'm a very low - tech person but even I know that is not right. Other than that I love how simple it is and the TOS is minimal and non-intrusive.
The only reason I gave this 3 stars instead of the 5 it almost deserves is the fact that you can't select multiple files at one time, so copying and moving large groups takes forever. This is a needed feature for any file manager. Add this and it will be the best file browser I've ever used. Also, the holo theme is the best I've seen in a file manager.
Design and performance are good. Had to play around with settings to get things right. One thing: the back button was not working properly until it was toggled off and back on. Also, needs multi-select, especially for zipping files.
This is the most generic file exploring app I've ever used!!! Although It's really not that bad of an application for how small it is, but its not what I wanted & I'm going to delete it & go for somethin totally different instead cuz it jus doesn't get the job done for me at all and I am willing to spare the megabyte to download one that does & will accesses "ALL" of my very important files!
I tried out a few others before this one and I'll be sticking with this. No ads or other tricky stuff - just a very decent app. It's a real credit to the developer. Thank you for this.
It's true that this is the best looking file management app on the Market and it's also incredibly smooth. Unfortunately, it lacks many features of other file managers and since it's a free app, updates are coming in very slowly. Unless they've ceased entirely. I would pay up to $5 for an app of this quality with timely updates and more features.
Few suggestions for 5* - Doesn't request root access when it needs it for system folders. Tells me that I need root, even though I have it (you just need to ask for it ...) - Preview of images when pressed - we don't need preview icons slowing things down, but if I select something a popup display would be nice rather than having to load an external viewer
The permissions are king with this app. Its very simple to use. No bugs at all compared to the bloated ad bearing competition and is under a megabyte. This deserves praise.
But missing multi select, root functions and thumbnail preview like many have mentioned. Haven't seen an update in quite some time; has this been abandoned?
I tried out a lot of file explorers and decided to use this one at the end. Tasks like copying and pasting can be performed very easily and the way it mimicks ICS is wonderful! Best explorer if you are searching for an ICS based explorer with simplicity.
Would be 5 stars with root access. Any chance of implementing this feature? I would happily pay for a pro version with all root explorer features.
but..please add the icon for the file..it will be more eazy tu use..and save the time..i should go one by one of the file to find it..the only problem with this file explorer... anyway nice..!
As long as there is no root functionality, there is no use in this file browser. The UI is good. Also misses an option to have smaller folders and fontsize.
Finally, a File Explorer that looks great and is functional. 5 stars... make a tablet version and I'd give you 6 stars if I could!
Very simple and very light. No energy consuming invasion. But the greatest draw back is it does not pick up external SD!
Nice UI and functionality, I just don't understand how I'm supposed to give it root access. I have other root apps, but this one doesn't ask for root permissions.
I love this, it works well and looks good! The only problem I have is that I can't scroll when multi-selecting things.
Perfectly designed file manager with no ads and no permission requirements, just lacks network support, SDCard write access.
Light, fast but I need multi-select and it should be folder up when I press back button, rather than exit the app
It doesn't ask for root permission to modify some files. Please fix that. I want to use this app instead of Root Explorer.
I have had trouble with files downloading as the wrong format. This app is easy to use. To those with the same problem all you have to do is use the app to rename the file format and you're done!
Nice and simple, it shows no ads. Lacks multiple select, which is nasty if you want to move or copy several files.
Fast, simple, open source! just what you need from a file explorer.
The best thing that i like about this app is that it requires no unnecessary permissions, and that it does what it is supposed to. For an open -source software the graphics and fluency of the user experience truely is remarkable. The only thing that bothers me a little, is that it seems that you don't have a "gridded" view instead of the listed one
Small in size yet beautiful in design. Has all the customization options required, has the option to change your home folder to external SD card. And no annoying ads! Thumbs up for the developer!
Really enjoying using this File manager, the in-built zip functions are great! Only downside is you can't select more then one item at a time.
This is the only file explorer in the Play Store that claims they're for ICS, and actually follows most of the guidelines.
it really needs root access and it would be awesome if i could create a shortcut to a folder on my home screen
I wait for something like this for a long time. Very simple UI no stupid ugly color folders like in other file explorers. Simple, fast exactly how a file explore should be
Light, fast but I need multi-select and it should be folder up when I press back button, rather than exit the app
This is the closest feeling to a native FM you will find. Thanks for being FOSS. BTW allows root :D
Awesome looking UI great functionality and the best part is, it's free! 5 star all the way!
My only gripe: I wish the back button would return me to the previous directory instead of quitting the app. I am so accustomed to pressing the back button that I constantly exit the app when I don't want to...
This is an amazing application with such a beautifully designed UI for ICS. I just love it. Though I am requesting for some features which it lacks right now, still it deserves five stars. Please add multiple file/folder selection. Previews for images.
This is the one app that has been missing from all Android releases. I love the refined look of 4.0+. I hated all the childish looks of other file explorers. This app is perfect! Works great on jellybean too.
Navigation could still use some tweeks. Make sdcard a default. But overall it's a must needed app.
Clean and simple interface yet extremely effective and powerful. Had originally given 4 stars because the back button wasn't working but its fixed now! :o) Great app!
Fast, simple, open source! just what you need from a file explorer.
If you just want a file manager without all the permissions and privacys wooooh's this is it. Its simple and easy to navigate too.

A simple, fast and smart looking file browser with minimum requirements on system resources, no ads and only permissions that are needed for it to function. It's like a more modern OI File Manager. Wish: 1. An exit button which removes it instantly from memory, 2. Full path in the top bar, 3. The same with root support for root users. Peter Kroll, Singapore
