　若者がある娘に捧げる詩的小説。長いラブ・レター。
　1970年、若者は娘に出会った。彼は彼女との交際の日々、折に触れて自分の気持をノートに書き綴った。
　長い交際の間、彼は一度、自分から別れを告げた。その時、彼はそのノートを元に本を書いて彼女に捧げる決意をする。
　やがて、彼が本を書き上げる前に、二人は別れた。
　数年後、彼はようやく本の原稿を書き上げた。しかし、彼はその原稿に満足できなかった。
　実際に本に出来たのは、さらに20年以上後だった。
