CrowdInfo

This is a crowdsourced app which provides near real-time information on waiting line length in restaurants / occupancy level in libraries and gyms.

We will continue improving its accuracy as it is used over time.

It is a part of a research project (IRB#14-001352) about leveraging the wisdom of crowds to build an information system. This app is now designed to be used only on the UCLA campus. The distribution of this app has been approved by the UCLA IRB. It currently supports the following places:
1) Subway, Yoshinoya, Fusion and Bistro in Bombshelter (waiting line length)
2) Science and Engineering Library on the 8th floor, Boelter Hall (occupancy level of seats)
3) John Wooden Center (occupancy level of running machines)

Android permissions:
**Files (but not Photos/Media)**. This app needs to save data (e.g., your total number of reports, last report time) locally on your device. So it will save, modify and read such content from your SD card.
**Device ID (but not call information)**. We need to differentiate your reports from others' reports. So this app will record your device ID.
