Biodiversity Data Capture

I used the previous Butterfly App to submit records all the time but I rarely use this one as it's torture to use! I don't like that you can't check the GPS functionality to ensure that it's picking up your location properly. Other bio-recording apps have a map function which allows you to view and select your location on a map. If the mobile signal is bad the app has trouble finding a GPS location. Text is too small and difficult to read in bright conditions. The app is sometimes slow to respond and often freezes. I've tried it now a few times and always end up giving up and taking back out my notebook & pencil!

GPS just does not work. Probably missing out on hundreds of records. See BTO bird track as a benchmark.

I can't save my record because it says I have to turn on GPS. But it is on already

Can't submit because location not working & I don't know the location numbers to plug them in by hand- also to look them up on Maps kinda defeats the point of a handy app.. Disappointed!

Location function takes very long to load,and doesn't allow for correct identification of location if making a post-sighting upload

When I save pics......have they been automatically uploaded to biodiversity Ireland?

Great App thanks. We are using it in combatting Invasive Alien Species along the River Dodder (Dodder Action Biosecurity volunteers with DCC). 2 improvements needed please - (a) Please allow changes to the location or read the location from the photograph since we often photograph now but report slightly later when at a different location, (b) please list Himalayan Balsam. I know you have listed Indian Balsam but all DCC and International literature & material we use has the name as Himalayan Balsam. Thanks

I have GPS activated but app won't find location

It's great that you can now add pictures from the gallery. It is still not possible to change date and time to the past. You should be able to pick location out on a map too. I still only upload sightings using my computer for these reasons.

Badly needs a facility whereby pictures that have already been taken can be uploaded. GPS detail already contained in the photo exit data could then be extracted by the app or if absent the user could add the location info via a simple mapping screen. These two easily implemented features could make the app great.

I really want this to work. I took a photo and wanted to upload instead of taking tbe photo as i was on a road on a dangerous bend. It would be great to upload a pic. The gps wouldnt work either. I think its a great app if you can fix that. ADDIT i reinstalled and jtall worked except the camera.Samsung mini3

liked the drop down species menus. As others said would be much handier to be able to upload images from the gallery.

Should be able to upload pics from gallery and change the date and time to past days. Not always possible to upload in the field due to bad weather or lack of credit etc. It would be great if this was possible.
