About Maps
Maps is a mapping application that makes Google Maps more useful, by allowing the user to create customized bookmarks, along with notes that describe those bookmarks. The user can also set a reminder so that when they are in the vicinity of the bookmark they receive a notification.
Maps works well with Android Tablets and phones.
To receive location reminders, Google location services must be switched on.
Android will sometimes start destroying location reminders if the battery is running low to save resources. If you feel that you are not getting the location reminders that you should, you should refresh the location reminders, so that they are set again.
To delete a bookmark press the bookmark title for more than one second.
To get routing directions from your current location to the bookmark press the directions icon on the upper right of the screen.
All bookmark details are stored locally on the phone.
The user can save the bookmark list to local storage and later import them back into the application.
Find nearby places within a certain radius. To route to that place , or view reviews touch on the place row.
Live search bookmarks. No need to scroll through all your bookmarks to find the one you want, just start typing in the search area and suggestions will automatically be displayed below the search area.
Create bookmarks by just touching the surface of the map. No need to actually be there. After the bookmark is created, you can explore the place by doing a nearby search.
Search by address. Type the address in the search bar, and the application will mark the location on the map. The user can then bookmark the location or search for places of interest near that location.
