My Macros+ for Android
Can somebody help me finding plum tomato? I would love if this app was made for fruit and vegetables too but apparently it's only for processed food. I can't even find cooked jasmine rice... I weight my food cooked so this app is not for me :(
I switched to this app after being a MFP user for years. My favorite part is that it allows you to correct someone else's logged information easily. The one down side I've noticed is that the app freezes if you switch between it and another app on your phone, which is a bummer since I switch back & forth between my calculator a lot.
This is an excellent simple app that helps you track your macros. It has all the features I wanted and then some for one low price, where the other apps make you pay a subscription to use them. The UI takes some getting used to though
I like this app better then My Fitness Pal, I have no problems with finding foods and if not just add it yourself. The app does not round numbers, therefore more accurate to me. Yes the app could be a little better looking but it works.
Awesome straightforward app for tracking calories and macros. One time reasonably priced purchase and it is completely ad-free. I can finally uninstall Myfitness pal with its ripoff subscription service and intrusive banner adds for good. Big thanks to the creators of this app!!
I've used this app and the MyFitnessPal app. This app is great with it's look and how it displays your information in a very simplistic, easy to read manner. Very easy to enter foods and set your goals. I believe the nutrition target created by the app (calories and macros) is more accurate than others. My only caveats to this app are the barcode scanner doesn't like to scan as easily with other apps, and the bank of foods to choose from in the search feature could use some expanding. So more often then not I'm having to Google nutrition facts for certain foods. Overall I love this app, with an expansion of restaurants and foods to choose from in the search, and a little refining of the barcode scanner and it easily gets 5 stars!
Offers features that MFP charges a subscription for like tracking macros by grams and quick adding entries with macros vs total calories only. It will also auto calculate the calories for food based on macros. On the down side the user interface is basic and feels unpolished. For example when adding a food the custom foods you create are shown together with your favorites. So you have to sort through everything you've scanned and added in order to find the handful of core foods you manually created and use often. I wish they would keep it separate. The barcode scanner feature is nice but it doesn't have as much success finding foods as mfp does. For me it was around 1/3 of the time that it would find a barcode. Overall a good option and worth the price specially for competitors who need to be accurate. I hope they make improvements in future released to make it more user friendly.
No better than MFP which is free. Or several other free apps like lifesum. Interface is clunky and unappealing. I can't adjust the measurements from oz to grams etc. Do not buy this app there are free apps that don't better.
So far it's ok. I like the macro tracking but considering I have to pay I would expect it to be more user friendly. For instance to enter a recipe you should be able to use the bar code scanner, that seems like common sense. At this point it almost isn't worth the effort if I have to manually search and enter more stuff than I can scan. Might be a waste of money sadly
The interface is terrible. Finding something as simple as Butter is an exercise in patience and using every possible word combination to find it in the list. Adding food to each meal is hard because I stead of selecting your meal and adding your food you add your food and choose what meal it belongs to. Everything about this program is very counter-intuitive. Other FREE programs are much more user friendly than this one is.
I loved this app but I've been having serious issues with the search function. Searching "sugar", for example, brings up a bunch of results for instant brown sugar oatmeal. That's ridiculous, "granulated sugar" should be the very first result. I have a similar issue searching for eggs, another very basic food item. I have emailed the developers to make them aware, and they just told me to adjust the search settings, which does nothing to help. Please make a more comprehensive search function. I don't want to go back to my fitness pal, but you making logging macros very very time consuming.
I switched from My fitness pal because this is less spammy (even with premium MFP) and better allows me to track macros. You HAVE to enable global search though. Once I did that, all good!
Alot of food discrepancies. U have to do all the work to enter the correct nutritional info. Surely wth a database of 4mil foods ud think this wouldn't have to be done. Myfitnesspal looks like a better app to use.
This app is awful. The biggest food on here are protein supplement brands. I live in the UK and i have yet to find a barcode that is recognised and even manual sesrches prove difficult to find the correct food. My fitness pal is significantly better especially as it is free!!!!
I'm liking all of it with the exception of seeing minor discrepancies between what info the app has stored and what the labels say on the food that I scan with the in-app barcode scanner. Not a big deal though. Like everything else, it takes some time to get all of your foods input and recipes dialed in, and using the app gets much more swift after that. I recommend inputting your foods over kthe first week or two so you don't get bogged down immediately with TL:DR sickness ; )
Everything is in damn ounces and other medieval units. Many non us foods are missing such as Nestle Cinie Minnies, Chocapic and Fitness cereals, Nestle being one of top. Brands clutter up menu, hard to locate generic food, no way to drag drop reorder. Not worth the price!
Good app, simple and to the point with lots of customize input for meals. Can't give it higher than 3 stars because it constantly freezes whenever you edit custom meals.
I've been meaning to track my macros for a long time but it seems too complicated. I was going to make my own spreadsheet but then I finally decided to get an app. This one does everything I've wanted to do on my own and more. The recipe feature is great once I figured out how to use it. Custom foods sometimes take a while to input but it will save time in the long run. Great app! Edit: I'm not loving the food search function. There's a lot of incorrectly input foods with 0 values and tons of repeat ones as well. It makes searching for food a giant waste of time. Please fix your food data.
It is not any better than a free tracker. Nothing special that would really make me recommend this over something that is completely free. I have had difficulty finding even common foods. The only reason I even gave it 3 stars is because it does track macros and can break them down by meal.
This app is really bad. Be warned, you will waste your time in searching creating and editing foods. This app is nowhere near mainstream food tracking apps. I often can't even find normal generic foods. You can use filters, but that doesn't always yell success. It will often throws a product that has that ingredient you after, but the product (chocolate for instance) is not what I'm looking for. Conversion often does not work (oz to gram etc) so you are forced to search for same thing in hope that you will be able to find food that has option to convert in measures you prefer. This app is waste of time. The only reason I haven't refunded it on day one, because of avatar service. But now I recommend you to use myfitnesspal. It doesn't matter your macros probably won't change once every few weeks anyway, so sync is rather irrelevant in this case. Avoid this service, and use mfp to get it done instantly.
Frustrating in trying to track simple foods. Global search is on, typed in "nectarines" Or " nectarines, raw" and every thing except nectarines comes up. Does this with multiple foods.
Hey Jason is there a way I can see how many remaining macros I have for the day? On the bottom I can see my set macros and the macros I consumed already but it doesn't tell me my remaining macros for the day. Does this app have this feature?
Very easy to use. Tracking and finding your food item is super effective, especially when you use the barcode scanner. Also adding new item that you cannot find is not tricky and fast. Definitely recommended.
App is great for tracking. As stated in many other reviews the search for simple terms such as "squash, banana, egg, etc" brings up some strange results instead of the basic food first. I just decided to input almost every as a custom food after searching the nutritional value online for a specific weight.
DO NOT CREATE AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS APP UNTIL PASSWORD FIELD IS FIXED. I had high hopes for this app but Jason, in his inability to listen to customer feedback and make corrections, has failed to deliver a trustworthy product. This is not an ad hominem attack, but Jason really needs to understand how exposing customer passwords will not get him anywhere in terms of building customer trust. When I sent him an email asking to make sure the passwords are invisible (like use password field not text field), his response was very defensive and he rejected my feedback. It's seriously a huge problem with a ridiculously simple fix and I don't get why he refuses to fix this.
I have tried to turn on global search 10 times, and it will not stay on. I don't have time to enter foods manually. It also does not seem to sync my high and low days from Avatar correctly. It does not wait for the submit before it updates, perhaps?
I love this app. It helps keep track of my eating and is super useful in weight management. It's super easy to add food, and you can add recipes which makes making meals easier. Easy to set goals and this can help achieve them!
It's ok. Needs a lot accurate database for scanning food. Recipes could use work in comparison to MFP. Over all could be better but does the job. Please for the love of god make it easier to add and remove individual objects.
Even with global turned on, it won't search basic food items.
Love the app! Makes tracking macros so much easier. Also i use avatar nutrition and the sync between the two is amazing.
Can't sync to anything but Apple? This is an android app. Fat free bacon that also has 32g carbs and has apparently been "verified". I want my money back.
This app is so confusing and not user friendly at all. I wasted 3 bucks.
Unhappy with this app....have meticulously synced it so that when I reinstalled it on another phone I would still have all of my recipes....had about 2 out of my 15....Unhappy with this app
I've been using this app for probably 6 months now I love to simplicity and how easy it is to find food but more importantly to track what I eat on a day-to-day basis. I would totally recommend this app
This is a great app to track food intake, but searching for basic foods (even with the global setting on) can be frustrating. I have to customize and add most foods that I eat.
Great app. Was looking for an app to just deal with the macros. This is it. No extra rubbish, everything is straight forward and enjoyable to use
Amazing just what I've been looking for loads better than all the others if you want a serious adjustable macro calculator to for around your own diet
Not enough food choices. No search results for basic foods. Waste of time.
I was using the ios version and switched phones. I had been waiting for this for a while! While in that I emailed the support team abs they were quick and responsive with bugs/feedback I provided. Many things have seemed to be fixed. I'm looking forward to finally using this again!

They say they have 4 million foods, but you can't scan your food to upload, or find even basic foods. Allmax protein isn't an option, Kirkland organic peanut butter isn't there. It's hard to find just an egg or brand of egg whites. Basic 'fit' foods not being there baffles me. Needs a scan option. Definitely would make it a lot easier in the beginning when you're building your food items you typically consume. Overall it's a great app. I will continue to use, just know it will take a while to find foods compared to just scanning foods in MFP.
