Maybank for Android
If i got 0 star, this app worth 0 star. Root/jailbreak protection? Owh, at least just warn, but dont restrict your customer to use the apps. Immediately change to cimb clicks for mobile phones reload transaction due to this stupid 'enhancement'. Even 'citibank' just warn user, but not restrict it. You just lose yr transaction. Surprise, surprise, this is not my first bad experience with Maybank. Is this 'humanizing financial services'?.
The reason I am giving such a low rating is because there is fundemental problem with the way you are designing your mobile apps. Android and IOS platfoms should be developed separately giving it the proper design UI. For example if I press the back button on Android it asks me if I want to exit the app and that is clearly like pressing the home button for iOS and I have to press the button on the left top corner to go back a design UI from iOS. Look at all the great multi platform apps they all use different front end but the same back end.
clean interface. love at the first use. one thing that you might want to fix is back button. current back button (from phone, not from app) will make pop out window appear and ask if i want to leave. try to make it go to the previous page instead of asking if i want to exit the app.
This is way way way way better than the last app. Only complaint is that functionality wise it doesn't work well. This is stuff that can be found from Apple or Google Style guides. I'm eating this 5 starts because the previous app was hot trash. Here's to hoping the next update will improve the usability.
What is wrong with Maybank & Maybank2u? It keeps saying that I cannot run it due to rooted device eventhough my phone is not a rooted one. Cut the crap. Maybank internet banking used to be very convenient to me, but now it makes me considering to change to other providers as I'm using internet banking regularly. Please fix this.
Looks nicer but UX still need to be improved. Why the heck that you don't use Android back-key to trigger “back”? By tapping back-key, it will ask if you want to logout. I have to use 2 hands to touch the “<- Back” on top-left of the screen. Quick balance is a redundant feature since you allow "Quick Login with Touch ID". Anyway Quick balance didn't work for me for very long time as it always tell me that I have to deregister my phone from other active devices, well, this is my only active device. Edit: I don't want to call as it's troublesome and to wait for answer. As I said, since I can use Touch ID to login now, I don't need quick balance anymore.
Very good direction for the app. User friendly, straightforward and intuitive. However, can't seem to get the prompt for fingerprint login each time i try to login. Fingerprint has been setup and re-fee register but still can get that prompt to login. Would be great if this bug is solved.
Much cleaner interface compared to the older app. Not sure why some people make so much fuss about not being able to use on a rooted phone. I honestly do NOT want a rooted phone user to us this app and risk jeapordizing the bank security, please leave. And btw, your business with the bank does not worth the risk of hacking & losing even more clients from such incident. Smart move Maybank.
Way to go Maybank! Used this for a minute and I can feel the difference. Way easier and pleasant to use, I immediately deleted the old app. There's room for improvement, and more feature which I'm sure is yet to come. Congratulations to the devs. You guys did good with this one.
Pls remove root restrictions. Pls note also that Android users who root their phones are usually more security conscious than not. Yr competitor HLBB has already removed their root restrictions in their app and installed a responsibility disclaimer in place. So root should NOT be an issue anymore.
Why do I keep getting communication time out in both the old app and this new one? I thought this new version is suppose to fix that problem. Update: The problem still persist despite the steps taken as reccomended. I can't register for both quick balance and maybank2u.
At frst I thght this apps was a scam, but really? Because I still had a previous one. I'm not sure if previous apps is still can be use. This new app looks like just fine for me just a little bit mess with the performance speed. *For sugesstions, please add some other features at the side bar menu instead of blank. Better remove if nothing to fill cause it look messed.
I cant check quick balance after logging in. And when i open back the app, i can see my security image and security keyword straight away. If anyone can see my phone screen, they would know my m2u security details. This is worrying. Going to uninstall until sensitive info are hidden. Thanks.
Boring..it only allow me to register 1 account..i have 3 account with maybank n can only access the 1st that i registered to the app. Although its faster than the old one but it is not convenient if u have 3 acc like me
Dear Maybank, it is not safe to have apps remember my username. Everyone who can access my hp during unlock period easily can see it by pressing login. Any steps which I missed?
I got the error - Communication timeout when it asked for existing pin during setup for Quick Balance. As such, I can't proceed to test the new app but to uninstall it until it is improved or fixed. For now, I will stick to your old app.
The finger print function is like pointless. You can just tap on 'cancel' when it prompts for finger print and still can use the apps after even though you tap on 'cancel'.
This can be improve more.. Nice job.. But i Have a suggestion.. Plz make it multi account user friendly as i have few accounts.. But I'm stuck with one only.. And now i have to go back to previous app for transaction..
How is this different than Maybank2u? Does this app replace the old app? If yes then I should keep this instead of the old Maybank2u or it is 2 separate different apps? If it's the same then it would be better to discontinue the old app to avoid confusion. Nice new layout. Will test it out and update the ratings accordingly. TQ.
There are too many maybank apps. As a customer this doesnt give me confidence with your bank. I have a feeling that one of these apps (including this one) might be a phishing app. Please remove the duplicate apps to avoid security red flags!!!
My phone is not rooted. But the app says that it is. Cimb clicks is still much better on web and phone. Maybank you have a lot to catch up technology wise. Even your website is not easy to use.
1 user per device is not good enough. You cant expect people with multiple accounts to have multiple devices just to login to maybank app. It should be fixed fast.
I hv problem with my m2u. I have 2 accounts differently. How am i gonna login to another if the app locked only to my 1st acc with fingerprint. And then i cannot see the quick balance interface anymore.
A good improvement from previous version. Best of all, it support fingerprint but password is still required for payment as added security. However instead of password, a PIN specific for the current device should be introduced. This way user can safely made payment even in the public without worry from prying eyes and cameras and can choose to reset it whenever necessary.
It preference is better then before, but for quick balance is still the same. Please create an other way to deregister from my previous broken phone
Looks great and is a huge improvement. The speed of switching screens could be improved in terms of speed though, at the moment it's a little bit sluggish and slow. Also a minor tweak could be the back button bringing us back to the previous screen rather than prompting us to exit the app.
App is slow. I can't seem to use Quick Balance anymore , only the usual login page appears. I selected M2U then I couldn't even find Quick Balance anymore
I dont like how the second time i open the app, it already shown my secret phrase and picture. This should have be my secret to indentifies my account. If i lend someone my phone, they can get the secret phrase, secret picture and my username easily.
The newly improved app still doesn't show the credit card available balance. Transaction history doesn't show finance charges. I couldn't find the Let's do it option under settings. There's only login details, my devices and quick touch. I would go to my devices>other devices>deactivate current device to logout frm the current M2U account. My app is currently updated to the latest version but I still can't find the Let's do it option.
Connection time outs are so frequent. What's going on? Never had this issue with the previous version.
This app is no better than previous app. Once you choose to login either M2U or quick balance, you can't change to the other one, which is very inconvenient.
sencha ? why not react native? its sluggish on low end device because its not native.
Interface is much better. But horrendously slow and laggy frame rates. Fingerprint integration is a very good touch, pun intended.
Its about time!!! The old app is a pain in the ass... this one really convenient to use and added with fingerprint security..kudos

not sure why u discrimate us rooted phone users..we know the risk,fully aware of it and will take full responsibility of our action.simple prompt us a message to proceed using the app with the risk would be the right way.
Really good new maybank apps...new interface... i have some problem.... why cant login in my new apps...? I just can use quick touch only now...
This is the new maybank apps here in Malaysia? Because the old one is cannot open, i need to restore my device so i can't fix that, i hope this is good for us to open our account easily
A huge improvement from the previous app but it's still far from ideal. 1) Why is there a limit on your transaction history? 2) Haven't tried this yet but can one check one's balance or process transactions past midnight? If no, why not? This limitation is so pathetic. No excuses please. There shouldn't be any reason why one can't do any of that past 12. It's 2017. 3) Back button should return to previous interface/page, not prompt notice to exit app. Look at UK's mobile banking apps and take your cue from them. You're the biggest bank in Malaysia and 4th in ASEAN for goodness sake.

I love the design but functionality is really need to be improved. Many cosmetic bugs and some button like the inbox in the "me" tab does nothing when click. Owh ya , before login in into the system there's two services the quick check function and the main function. I login as the main function first and view my transaction but then when I log out and want to try the quick check it's not available. Even after I closed the app and relaunch it will automatically goes to the login page of the main function. Anyways great app and can't wait for the improved version.
