About Learn to read music notes

Music Buddy - learn music notes, key signatures (circle of fifths) and intervals, practice sight reading sheet music using flash cards.

Read sheet music quickly and effortlessly like a pro. Learn to recognize key signatures, notes, and intervals in the blink of an eye. Three independent learning modules in one app. Set aside five minutes a day for this app, and you will be reading sheet music like a professional musician in no time.
The app uses an ingenious approach to memorizing information through repetition and visual patterns with a focus on hard-to-remember pieces of information.

The simple, elegant, and intuitive interface allows you to switch between the different note-naming systems used in major countries around the world:
• CDEFGAB (major + minor, 大调 + 小调, 大調 + 小調)
• CDEFGAH (dur + moll)
• Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si (mayor + menor, maior + menor, majeur + mineur, maggiore + minore)
• Дo Рe Ми Фа Coль Ля Си (мажор + минор)
• ハ ニ ホ ヘ ト イ ロ (長調 + 短調)
• 도 레 미 파 솔 라 시 (장조 + 단조)

Key Signatures module: Learn key signatures – this module will help you memorize a circle of fifths – a must for every musician. You will learn to recognize keys based on the number of sharps or flats in a key signature at the beginning of a staff.
Choose from three learning modes using the buttons at the bottom of the module home screen:
• Learn key signatures for major keys only – left button
• Learn key signatures for minor keys only – middle button
• Learn key signatures for both major and minor keys – right button

Notes module: Learn music notes – this module will teach you to quickly recognize notes without thinking – you’ll look at it, and you’ll simply know it.
Choose from three learning modes using the buttons at the bottom of the module home screen:
• Learn notes from the treble clef only – left button
• Learn notes from the bass clef only – middle button
• Learn notes from both treble and bass clef – right button

Intervals module: Learn intervals – this module is especially helpful for pianists. Skilled pianists don't need to identify every note in a sheet. They recognize patterns based on the distance between notes (intervals) and automatically stretch their fingers accordingly.
Choose from three learning modes using the buttons at the bottom of the module home screen:
• Learn harmonic intervals only – left button
• Learn melodic intervals only – middle button
• Learn both harmonic and melodic intervals – right button

With the demo model, you can enlarge the screens which I found very useful, but I lost that facility when I purchased it, want it back, thank you

Okay, but doesn't play the note. Thanks for the response, Vladimir, looking forward to the new version.

App is good and well laid out, but I wish there was an option to turn off the treble clef. As a bass player I am primarily concerned with the bass clef and with all the keys being in the treble clef it throws me off.

Exactly what I needed! Worth the money. It looks really nice and helps me learn how to read notes and more. I hate learning music theory but with this app it's like a quiz game.

"Are you improving" graph is not persistent if you turn off the app - it's therefore useless. But the app is very nice in itself!

By just playing 2 times everyday (5mins/"game"), you'll definitely be able to improve! I'm seeing improvement from reading bass clef already! Love the "Are you improving" graph too! Tracks your progress.

I was looking for an app that does intervals as well as basic note reading. Would it be possible to extend to types of intervals (major/minor/perfect etc) and also to have an adjustable timer for the exercises for 1 or 2 minutes as 5 is a long time. Thank you

Best by far. Rolling score with audible keys would be the next step.

Für Geigenschüler nicht geeignet da nur eine Klaviertastatur zum Tonnamen eingeben angeboten wird!

This is the first review I've ever written for an app despite my constant download of random games and such but definetly felt this warranted one. I mean hell, Its a rare thing when you can look at an app's page and right of the bat say yes this is quality. I bought this with almost no hesitation and within a day and a half already have over an hour logged and am showing constant improvement thanks to the beautifully efficient as well as aesthetically pleasing design.

Great starting point. Note testing needs to support key signatures other than C major as well. Or allow sharp and flat notes to be tested as well.

I'd love to see it expanded though

I've downloaded a number of sight reading apps, this one is my favorite. Simple, clean and effective.
