AVRecorder

AVRecorder is a research app developed solely to facilitate automated capture of Internet video streaming data for analysis and research of video streaming 'Quality of Experience'.

After installing the app, first download the 'Test with this' video playlist and follow the instructions on screen to "train" the app to automatically play videos from supported video sites. to verify that "training" worked, use the 'Test trained sites' button from the app's home screen. If you need to retrain the app for a site, first delete the site data from the app settings menu (under the 'Simulation Data' category) and then use the 'Train AVRecorder' option again.

Note: The app is being continually developed, tested and fine tuned for research. Please only install if are willing to participate in the research and are willing to put up with the same.
'superuser' permission is required for executing tcpdump (although the app can be run without this too).
