Gideon Smart Home

Seems like it has great potential, but for some reason, it will NOT sync with my Belkin NetCam. Also it won't connect with my Google Home. It says that there's not a linked account and to just figure it out in the Google Home App? I also noticed that when viewing my outdoor Nest Cams, I have to tap "start streaming" and it simply opens the Nest App... I wish it would just load the video feed like how it looks like it's trying to with the Belkin NetCam. Basically, it would be nice to see cam video in this app instead of opening the Nest App. Hopefully someone see's this and can offer me some insight on my Google Home and NetCam (I've even added my cams local IP address and it still doesn't load) Thanks.

wonderful - full application

i like the intent, but so far on my samsung s8 and two different tablets the app randomly stops and loses partial settings. Definite potential when it become stable enough to rely on...

Works with my WeMo plugs. The scenarios are also great. And the voice integration is great since here there's no Google Assistant nor Alexa. My biggest problems are with the IFTTT integration, the widgets, and syncing issues. IFTTT has a 5 minute to 30 minute delay, that's not very practical. I don't like that you have to have an off and on widget, it would be better if it was off if the device is on and on if the device is off. And some times it goes out of sync and it takes a bit of time sync again. I would also like integration with Logitech Harmony, and WiZ lights. I know IFTTT is a can control them but the IFTTT delay makes it impractical.

Didn't get past "Oops error retrieving your devices" (from Fibaro HomeCentre 2). Gideon support said " are you sure you typed have the right IP address"...Duh, yes, still didn't work

So far so good. The only function missing is the ability to set lights to automatically switch off at sunrise and automatically switch on at sunset.

No ecobee, no Smartlife devices, no Philips hue motion sensors

One of the best home automation app, if not the best one out there. I give 4/5 because of the buggy Gideon bot and lack of compatibility with things like Arlo and Logitech Harmony. Will change to five stars after one of these is fixed.

Great app for scheduling multiple wemo switches on timers

Easy to setup and intuitive. Works with every device I tried.

Very limited Insteon support. Only recognizes Insteon switches and plugs. No support for scenes, I/O, sensors ect....

Good clean UI, easy to use. I wish there were more widgets, able to control all the lights in a room in a widget. Also wish I could make custom groups (sets of lights in a room etc)

It's never worked with my SmartThings Multi Sensor. It works fine in the Samsung app but never syncs with Gideon

Revised as app does not work on 3g or 4g. Pointless!

Only works with Netatmo welcome, not presence. Otherwise would have been amazing, please add support for presence and I will change this review to 5 stars.????

can no longer add Wink products. I get an error about reaching the maximum number of users.

Update:quick response from the developers, they have fixed my problem with a new app update that came out in less then a week, now I can use my Philips Hue. One thing I would like to see is a notification widget of some sort that allows me to turn lights on and off without unlocking my phone.

Started using Gideon because it has better lighting control with RGBW bulbs than SmartThings. So far, the app has been easy & enjoyable to use. I hope you add an Ecobee connection soon!

I bought switches based on what is compatible with Alexa. But sometimes I don't want to use voice and Gideon would be a good option if it supported everything Alexa does. The main one that is missing for me is Lutron dimmer switches.

I suppose if you have a house with mixed smarthome tech, this could have some advantage. I am pure smartthings. This hold no advantage over Samsung's app. No dashboard to see status of all devices. Setup is a bit cumbersome. Getting to a device status is a multi click affair.

Wow BIG April 2017 update, this may make others obsolete with nearly full compatibility and integration. Great to finally see industry standards collaborating! Thank you!

No Hive support yet? Shame to see no Hive support and it's a big brand in UK for thermostats and now bulbs and switches. Guess BG aren't sharing API but I've seen forums that have worked out the API.

Love the app. Looking to get more devices. My Sonos Play 3 & 5 will not add. App keeps crashing.

Can no longer login says someone else logged in from a different device! Tried password change still can't get in.

Love the app, extremely well thought out with the best layout yet compared to any other smart home controller app. Can't wait to see what the future has in store for Gideon. Keep it up...

This only works by internet. Loose your internet, loose control of your home. Not for me.... uninstalling

Worked for half a day and then took it upon itself to request that i activate my hub every time I wanted to use a light, that's every single time for every single light. Became very irritating. Now gone.
