About Send Reduced Free

Send Reduced lets you share reduced resolution photos by email or text with the minimum number of taps. When sharing a photo, just choose "Send Reduced". The first time, you'll have to choose the email (or other) app you want to use with it, but if you set the checkmark to make this permanent, next time you won't even have to do that--as soon as you choose "Send Reduced", you'll be in the email (or other) app.

You can also use Send Reduced to attach a reduced photo--when choosing the attachment from your email app, first time choose the Gallery and set a checkmark, and next time you'll automatically get the photo from the gallery and reduce it.

You can adjust the resolution and quality of the reduced photo by running Send Reduced from your launcher.

Send Reduced is tiny, open source (search the web for source code) and has no ads. It strips identifying information (EXIF and filename) from the photos. There is also a Pro version which lets you include some EXIF data and preserve filenames if you are interested in supporting the developer.

Works with some galleries and not others. When sent picture by AA Image Viewer crashes every time.

S70%
by S####:

I found it to be really useful! Saves your Mb when on mobile data and need to send photos. Very easy to use and versatile. Great thought and project!

L70%
by L####:

Very easy to use app that does exactly what it says. This should be a feature in Android like it is in iOS.

R70%
by R####:

Very simple does what it says. Reduces picture to email them.

P70%
by P####:

Perfection... No issues whatsoever.

R70%
by R####:

Works well. If, like a lot of people here, you accidentally set the default attachment type and can't unset it, try this: settings > default applications > set as default > (your stuck app) > clear defaults. Should do the trick. How's that for obscure?!

R70%
by R####:

It is a highly useful utility and does what it claims. Developer responds to issues and helped me resolve a problem with not being able to select the application to send with. For those with the same problem, where send reduced always opens with a certain app but you would like to be able to select the app, try Settings (the main Android settings), Applications, Application Manager, the application that always opens with send reduced e.g. Outlook, Viber, etc, then "Set as default", and "clear defaults".

R70%
by R####:

Very helpful and useful indeed! However I have a request... Please add UI for resetting default app. Once selected there is no way to change it. At least I cannot find it.

R70%
by R####:

Doesn't work for me. We both have android phones on Att. Can't open images.

H70%

Does the job without fuss or ads or spam. Awesome. Thanks so much.

C70%

Used it 1 day. This is so simple - totally see through. Just reduces pic size and "forwards" to email. No hassle Im buying pro now

F70%
by F####:

Perfect for emailing photos. Many thanks to the developers

X70%
by X####:

Why would I not get that option each time, not every picture I send I want the same compression.

R70%
by R####:

Awesome app. Just one request: could you add a feature allowing for the selection of several photos at once?

R70%
by R####:

Would like it if I had a choice to msg or email. It defaults to the same app each time.

A70%
by A####:

I like the minimum of keystrokes. I wish everyone sending me bloat-size photos would use this.

L70%

Does exactly what I hoped.

at least the option isn't there. does have option for normal SMS, which for some reason doesn't work. it does work with whatsapp and line. oh...and I second the opinion on the bad icon design: use solids for such a small icon, simplify too, and use an eye catching color different from the most common communication programs installed so us users can easily pick it out of the dozen or so applications. Update 2016 After using it for a while, found it does work with hangout, however due to the limitations of sms, only one image at a time. It does work well with all other apps. Great handy utility!

R70%

Works Perfect. I had a small issue with multi pics. Great communication. Issue solved. Highly Recommend.

No need send 5mb photo (you can share that from Google Cloud) if sending on mobile data compress down to smaller size, great idea.

D70%
by D####:

I guess this isn't intended to work on high resolution photos, although I would think that would be the point of having this app in the first place. I'm not sure what the memory issues were that caused that limitation, but I could really use this app if that limitation weren't there!

G70%

It works but if you don't do it right it crashes/freezes phone. I had to install and uninstall it 3 times. To get it to work right you go to the gallery and select the photos you want to share. Then you select share and select Send Reduced. It will open the app and then you have to select which app you want to send the files with, NOT SEND REDUCED.

Great idea to quickly reduce size of pictures before sharing. Really helps for email, Viber, and other apps.

D70%

Interface makes all the right noises but doesn't touch file size. Total crap.

D70%

Most people don't need a photo of my cat in high resolution. This saves a lot of time.

Good app to compress while sharing photos

I use everyday at work to send myself multiple images and it is exactly what I need. Thanks for making this App.

Excellent app. I've been using this app for almost 2 years now & have had no problems whatsoever with it. It does a much better job of reducing the photo size without harming the image quality for MMS & email messages than the regular phone apps do!! It's a super-efficient app with no impact on the system, memory, battery, space or anything. Kudos to the developers!!! 10/10

P70%
by P####:

Both are great, but Pro lets you keep your image file names so you can retain their order once sent. My phone takes gigantic photos and I wasn't able to quickly email several at a time because even 3 original files would have been too large for some people to receive via email. This is one of my most essential utilities. Love it!

I have used many app foot shrinking images but this one is by far the best. It does batch shrinking in no time and it integrates seamlessly into gmail or other apps. Simple doesn't get simpler.

J70%
by J####:

Really like the app. One major problem is selecting multiple files when attaching photos to gmail. Wish it had this. And also a redesigned icon though that is a minor issue.

D70%
by D####:

Careful when setting up the first time to NOT select this app but the gallery app, otherwise it will appear to freeze your phone. After that, selecting the image is fast and easy. I'd like to have multi-select capability, and an interface to delete reduced files (if they're even stored).
