Nexar - AI Dashcam

I did love this app but the speed is always on KPH, & Since update i seem not yo ge able to access a full screen of any footage.. Originally it had mega potential, It crashes frequently too. I have found Navmii Dash cam today & if like using Nexar before someone thought it need loads of updates??

You can't use your phone for music while recording if the mic is turned on. It reduces sound quality to the point that it makes your ears bleed. Other than that it functions fine with your phone camera mounted as a dashcam. I have purchased the external camera sold by Nexar, and it doesn't have it's own mic, so it doesn't solve the problem. The app won't let you manually connect to the camera and start recording before you start rolling. Instead it waits to sense you have started driving and automatically connects and starts recording in the background. This is awesome for ease of use and seamless connection and operation, but it also makes sure you skip the first mile or so of every single trip. Note: this issue is non-existent for those of you just using your phone's camera since you can just press the start recording button whenever you want. To Nexar: I'd strongly suggest figuring out how to integrate sound recording capability into your dashcams. That would also encourage people to buy your cams. Also maybe make it so you can push a button either in app or on the camera that instantly connects so we don't have to miss that first part of each trip. Many accidents happen within a mile of taking off.

Does not work after last update. Asks for Google location and wants wifi on, my location is set to hi. App is unusable over cell data because it only wants wifi for the location. Please fix.

Great app in theory, though it doesnt hold up to what it says it does. here's why: 1. you cant choose which speed you want your speed-o-meter to display (mine does mph, even though i want kph). in addition, the speed-o-meter is not at all accurate (had multiple incidents of it having speed spikes, showed im going at 90mph in city driving while stopped) 2. none of the AI features claimed to have. 3. videos dont open, sometimes wont open, sometimes take too long to open. 4. the videos are uploaded as time-lapse into the cloud, they're very fast, cant really see much. 5. map features stop working once you upload the video into the cloud and remove it from your phone. that means, you cant know your speed, nor where you were. app needs HUGE amounts of improvement, in terms of bug fixing, user interface, settings, cloud options, and features that actually work/exist.

I installed the app agreed to everything and pressed the "Get started" button. The app didn't ask me to sign in, it just started recording even though I wasn't even in the car. I don't want an app that records all the time. I just want it to record while I am driving. Also, since it didn't prompt me to create an account, I won't be able to pull up videos on my computer. LG G4.

I love the app but I can't look at my last videos it's saying sorry can't play video please fix Samsung Note 8

Only supports timelapse videos on android phones, I am not going to buy an iPhone to get all the features

Great app that's constantly improving! Have used it since the beginning.

Cant access video outside of app. Should be able to upload stright to google drive etc instead of phone storage. Should be able to store on SD card... says you can share the videos and you cannot. Cant really do anything other then watch the videos. Need more setting options to be able to customize everything and put the user in control. Will rate 5 stars once i get more setting options and can share my videos however whenever and be able to upload directly to SD card or google drive and be able to customize and edit videos.

The app is definitely getting better for Android phones. There is finally a settings menu but it is still limited. I will wait to update my review since it's reportedly works with the xplorer C1 dash cam now.

Does exactly what you expect from a dash cam but preoccupy minimum of 5GB on your local phone storage without the ability to record to external SD card instead.

Latest update will randomly crash and most of the time will not play back video useless at this point as a dash cam. Using a Galaxy S7 edge please fix!

Easy to use and very useful. Gives you more than your average dashcam with analysis and warnings. I use it every day

Great app. They have come a long way in fixing bugs. Still has a few, but the way it stores video info is better than all the others.

used to work well, now it continually locks up my phone when i try to use it. also sucks the life out of my battery

App constantly crashes at 3 seconds if phone is horizontal. App hasn't been working in a long time!

No any AI features is available in the app. Be sure to read the privacy agreement first. The company just want to collect your data

Battery life in the last update is awful. It is currently impractical to use because of this.

Crashes on startup on new version

Today's update was awesome. It fixed all the bugs and works perfectly now

The app constantly crashes. I'm running a stock version in Oreo on a pixel XL. It would be a great app but the developers don't seem care or have the knowledge to fix the issues. If things are ever fixed I'll re-review it. It also doesn't come with many features at all that were advertised. It's been out for a while so if expect them to have started in on it.

No features whatsoever. Not even a settings menu. App has been out long enough that it should include a basic settings menu.

Love this app and it can only get better. Was using it on a Google Pixel first. First run today on a Moto Turbo 2, not activated, no data, no wifi, Gps on. Recorded first drive for 40 mins flawlessly. Drive back home mysteriously stopped recording 13 mins in. Had no idea it stopped. Be nice to have more options on screen and clarify what existing buttons do. How about recording front and back simultaneously on selected hardware, ok where's the list? Add video image stability especially on some bumpy roads. Auto start if horizontal orientation and charging. Would make it more like a true dash cam. Guess I can use Tasker for now.

Good as a dashcam. Many promised features not included in Android version. No settings and no real user guide. Frequent crashes after Oreo update. Considering uninstall if it doesn't stop crashing.

My s7 gets hot and stops charging the battery due to heat "Battery no longer charging due to excessive temp". I like the app, but it is too resource intensive, needs ability to throttle usage...

Every time I try to create an account on my Samsung s8+ it immediately goes back to the screen tell in me to tap the button to create an account. Useless for me until this is resolved.

The app is good but flawed as hell. It crashes after i hit record and doesn't show me a whole ride if i do record.

No interface for settings, does not seem to support the alert or work with Waze as specified. In my first test it only recorded 10 min of a 2hr drive with no alert it was stopping.

Seems okay but would be nice if it could automatically start and stop when connected to car Bluetooth, with an integration with Android Auto.

Install this app try to open nothing happens phone was hanged I restart the phone but nothing on display they need to look more in stability on all platforms I installed it on lenovo p2

Best app ever, works great!

Substandard app compared to iOS version. Lacking the following features which the iOS version has. 1. Vehicle to Vehicle communication - no notification of hard braking ahead etc. 2. No hard brake notification even if car ahead brakes suddenly. 3. No Waze integration. Sadly without all the above functions, the app is basically a free dashcam app with cloud storage, there is no AI function to it. Will be switching to Payver once an Android app is available for Payver as it has basically has the same functions in this neutered app and you get paid for recording and sharing the data with them.

Works great but I wish it had support for Onedrive or Dropbox.

great concept but many flaws repeated "failed to respond" and app crashes. two weeks worth of waiting for tech support to resolve, still not fixed. only replies were after i followed up and threatened to remove the app. their reply was, thanks for waiting we will get back to you.

Good concept, but really poor implementation. I keep getting a "preparing camera" message and only a few times has it actually gone beyond that message. High battery consumption and no option to exit the app. Good luck though..

Tried it again today, still makes my, Xperia XZ completely unusable... Not impressed. Original: Great concept, but implementation is flawed... Mainly this app has no settings at all - would love to see at least some like resolution and stuff! Also it can't run smoothly alongside waze and spotify on my Xperia XZ. Maybe there are features I don't personally need and disabling them would make performance better, to another point for having settings... Will rate higher if performance gets better.
