Great app that prevents cheating from Lingvo! Once I've bought Lingvo dictionaries (not only the app itself but dictionaries are also licensed - remember what you bought!), I don't need to pay second / third / ... Nth time buying the software+dictionaries packages for different platforms. Instead, I'm buying new software only, the goldendict app, which is capable of using Lingvo's yet licensed dictionaries! Eat that freaking greedy abbyy!

It's perfect with samsung s5. But I couldn't open this app on the samsung tab s2 due to the error with the folder with dictionaries. This problem was solved by moving dictionaries from SD card to the local memory of the devise. Thank you, GoldenDict team! :)

Stopped working after updating to Nougat (7.0) please fix it. Samsung S7 edge. Worked fine before the update. Is any customer service for that app? Customer services helped to fix the problem.

Good dictionary. But it would be a super translation tool, if equipped with a option of translating copied clipboard. It's useful to switch it on when you read a text full of words you've never seen before. I find it slow to copy a new word, then share it and choose Golden Dict. It'll be faster if we just copy and see the meaning immediately. Hope to see the this option in GoldenDict.

My favorite dictionary on android. Unfortunately, since one of the updates, when you touch a Chinese character on the screen,you select the whole paragraph instead of the one character. I sent them a mail to report this tokenization problem of Chinese character, but nobody ever replied. Rather disappointed.

Utter rubbish. A rip-off. Avoid. Comes with no dictionaries of its own. Having already paid for this app your then expected to troll around the internet for hours visiting dodgy websites downloading other people's copyrighted dictionaries on the sly. Following links from this dev's website which are outdated and don't work. Spent 1 hour gong absolutely nowhere. Avoid avoid avoid!

Unfortunately it doesn't have any kind of direct access and multitasking (overlay screen) thru notification or bubble (such as word web and Google translator). App Doesn't keep databases working if saved on external SD card. There is no text to speech feature and bookmark is available. Interface is outdated and needs to be redesigned. Stucked with no updates for more than two years and does not provide Google family library.

This app is the best dictionary shell on the market but it asks me to re-index some dictionaries every several days. It also has a bug - if you select too many dictionaries for indexing, the app says everything is done, though in fact it did not even start indexing. I have these bugs with latest version of GoldenDict on Android 6.0.

This app is an absolute Gem, you can load concise and advanced learner dictionaries in the same app, other great features are: ability to pop up when summoned from ebook reader, app simply opens up promptly with the keyboard (in other dictionaries same process takes place after the appearance of logo, and then you have to click the box to type in your word)

I moved all my files to a new phone, which is S7 Edge. All my dictionaries are in /storage/emulated/0/GoldenDict/ nested directories. When starting the app, it says: add dictionaries to GoldenDict directory, then the app quits. It worked fine with the same location of dict files on my previous phone. The app should've asked the location of dict directory, not just quit.

I've been using Goldendict for a long time, which could be traced back into my college years. It's simple, fast and bug-free. I thank all those years that Goldendict bring to me so I can learn a language so conveniently. In fact, I don't necessarily need the 5+ dictionaries feature that Pro version offers, I brought the Pro version to thank your hard and execllent work, and I do hope the app could continue to be maintained, and more features can be added into it. Thank you.

This app is the ultimate dream for every polyglot!! I'm tempted to give it 6 starts. The only shortcoming I can find is: there's no tables of declension or conjugation... [2016/04/20] In the past 6 months it started to CRASH ALL THE TIME!! Conflict with Android 5 & 6? Please fix it!!

I just update my Galaxy tab S 8.4 to android 6, and the program was crashed. Please update the app. The app howevet works well on the free version. I would like to have a version for windows phone 10 as well

Good app but need a lot of refinement, especially for newer Android versions. I cannot use my dictionaries in external sd after installing Nougat. A paid app should receive a better support.

But if there was material design, or anything like design at all, it would be five! By the way, problems with external SD card dictionary installation reduces the amount of devices that may be able to use this app.

It's a well-crafted app all around, at least it used to be, hasn't been improved since then, has some serious issues with android 6, new dictionary formats need to be added. As for now the app doesn't have a solid rival on the market so we have to stick with it for the time being.

This app is unique and outstanding in terms of compatibility with many dictionary formats, but the user interface and features only cover the basics. There have only been a few cosmetic updates in the last several years, and it seems that no new development is going on. I bought it because I appreciate the time and effort the author(s) have put into the open-source desktop version, but it seems they don't care about improving their mobile app. Doesn't even compare to apps like Pleco.

Please fix the problem with permanent crashes on Android 6. App is perfect, but your support is needed.

It often crashes lately. Couldn't you do some updates with some design? Material design perhaps..

It was a mess with a license for the first time. I had to contact their support team. Eventually not all dictionaries are compatible and I spent my time for chasing the right ones. It is definitely not that good as I expected.

Especially when teamed with Moon+ Reader. I've used it for a long time on Linux. Superb on the phone for reading in other languages. And for having and English dictionary always available too. Thank you to Babylon too.

Would like to have an option to search online Wikipedia and Google Translate too. Sometimes offline dictionaries lack a definition that might be available online. That would be very helpful.

lately it started to crash very often. There's a loading circle for about 5 seconds and app crashes. I use lingvo dictionaries with .lsd extension. Please, amend this issue

There are no updates so long. Have the developer abandoned this? I hope it would have some update in future.

Goldendict crashes and freezes everytime I use it. The disaster have been continuing for half a year. In my opinion, it's usual problem for Xiaomi owners.

It worked perfectly. But it doesn't work on my new phone with Android 7, asking to add dictionaries to sd card, though they are there.

Stopped working after Android update. While worked after few years, asked license file at very unsuitable moments.

1st I have 2 gigs of dictonaries - the index CANT be placed at extSDcard android data golden dict folder on kitkat. Its a shame. 2nd It does not capable to search properly using "word depth" feature. It present. It reindexing dictionaries and ... not works at all, ie does not find any words combinations like desktop lingvo for exception of direct matches. Its a big limitation. Super anoying. Fix. (if you cant get what I mean - just launch lingvo on pc and compare the results trying to translate some phrase)

So far so good. With newer Lingoes app available in the store with more user friendly UI and support, I think Goldendict needs more updates and improvement, e.g. using the phone built-in voice for pronunciation, better UI, etc. Hope this app doesn't get abandoned like that. Still my favourite dictionary app though.

Замечательный словарь. Удобно использовать в паре с настольной версией. Очень бы хотелось более тонкие настройки для словарей (возможность включать/отключать словари при поиске, настройки групп словарей, более удобная сортировка и пр.). И, конечно, чрезвычайно хочется, чтобы была реализована функция полнотекстового поиска.

Used to be a good app. Now it is not free anymore, but that is OK, I would not mind paying for a good product. But why would a dictionary need a permission to get my phone call info?! Is this some kind of a spying spiel? Maybe the developers should rethink their approach.

After install doesn't start. Shows some cryptic message about copying dictionary to SD card to GoldenDict folder. First of all nexus 4 doesn't have an external SD card. Secondly how should I know where is this folder? Is it too much trouble for developer to provide an exact path or even more professional approach to open a dialog that allow to configure that folder. I really regret that I have bought that application. Don't waste your money!

I use goldendict in my laptop, PC, and phone. It supports so many kinds of dictionaries. I like it very much!

It is the only app that supports all the awesome lingvo dictionaries, but it crashes VERY often. The lack of updates worries me a lot.

A problem arising when using the app from a book reader on a Chinese text is that the app won't return anything if the selection includes many characters. It would be better if the app returned results for the longest word that can be made out of the first characters in the selection.

Got a new license key for the second device within few hours after request. App works amazingly fast with 46 installed dictionaries.
