About SwipePad - One Swipe Launcher

SwipePad is a launcher overlay. It can be used from within any app using one hand and one gesture.

It's simple and intuitive to use, just swipe from the edge of the screen and release you finger on your favorite apps, contacts, settings on the overlay pad you just summoned. This will bring your multitasking to a whole new level.

★ Omnipotent: A pad can hold a mix of apps, shortcuts, bookmarks, contacts, dialers etc. With widgetpad add-on, you could even launch a widget from anywhere!

★ Unobtrusive: SwipePad is no where to be seen, and the app under SwipePad keeps running: there's no interruption to it. SwipePad only appears when you swipe it out.

★ This is not a home app, your home key preference is kept (works with all 3rd party home apps like Apex Launcher, Nova Launcher, ADW Launcher, Go Launcher EX etc.)

★ Memory & battery friendly

★ Support 3rd party icon packs

"DIRECTLY CALL PHONE NUMBERS" permission is required by Android system dialer shortcut. So you may set up a quick dial portal, and call your favorite contact with a single swipe.

Ideas and suggestions are welcomed:)

Hey there Dev. First of all, I'd like to tell you how much I adore your app, Swipe Pad. Your applications functionality is second to none when it comes to multitasking. I've used the paid version on several versions of Android and it's always served me well. Sadly after the Android 6.0.1 update the application no longer functions on my Galaxy Note 4, and according to other reviews, this is happening on many different brands of devices that also may use this version. Please help us with an update soon.

I don't know what I'd do without it. The functionality of this app makes it far more practical to find and open apps on a smartphone than before. Better in comparison to using sidebars because it shows more apps. Also swipe gestures are more convenient than going to the home screen and finding the app icon/folder. One thing I hope receives more work is the backup feature. This app could be much better if there was an option to save a backup on the external sd card or in a cloud rather then in internal memory only. EDIT: Sometimes apps or folders won't open after swiping. Maybe it's a memory issue.

Having been using it for the last few years. Works so well with very few resources and never ever faced battery drain. Just got and update for this app after many years and now its complete. Some of the missing features have begun to work.. Great job Dev.

Finally discovered the bug that has been hounding my usage for more than a year now. In a 5 or 6 column layout, the rightmost and leftmost middle 3 spots are often non-responsive. You swipe to the app assigned to those spots, nothing happens. You try 4, 5, 6 times, nothing happens. After repeated tries, it eventually works. This is very annoying. I discovered this bug when I put the same app on one of the problematic spots, and another near the center of screen. The one near center works every time. Never missed any swipe. While the one at the left or right edge takes several tries to eventually work. Please fix this. Paying customer deserves a fully functional app.

Used to work flawlessly. But for months now you need to select apps two or even three times before they actually launch. And sometimes they don't launch at all. Messaged Dev but no answer. Not updated in 10 months. Rating reduced from 5 to 2. I use Swiftly Switch instead now. Superb app with much more functionality.

Glad to see that the app is still under development! Thank you for fixing context panel. Old review (2013): I love this app! The context panel option is one if my favorites. It has helped me out on many occasions to quickly terminate erring apps and even uninstall them in a jiffy. And now with the option to disable it for certain apps, SwipePad is totally indispensable.

Been a long while since this app has any real updates. Great app for most part. Wish I could choose which pads had lables. Not all or none. For example for apps I don't want labels but for contacts I do. Or perhaps and option to show label while hovering over an icon.

by Q####:

Great app and an absolute time saver! Been using it for years now and you don't realise how much it gets into how you use a phone. But to the problem: is failing behind on updates and is now clunky and slow to respond. Sometimes have to select a function two or three times before it initialises. If they can get it back to its former glory 5 stars without a doubt but until then it's almost more hassle

I like this app but my firewall shows that this app attempts to send out data almost nonstop. What constant info is this app attempting to send out constantly, developer? I have very serious privacy concerns. No other 3rd party app attempts to phone home near constant like this. What are you up to developer? I want answers.

I've been using this for 4 years, recommend it to everyone. Great to see it's still supported but it continued to work so well through so many versions of Android anyway. It's changed the way I use my phone. I have bought the add-ons also. Must have. This is a permanent supplement for any launcher I use.

Q70%
by Q####:

Still not working after update. I LOVED this app, but notice it's PAST TENSE. Old Review: App not supported by developer any more. Last update almost 2 years ago. I had to uninstall because it caused a Samsung S6 screen overlay error causing many apps not to work. So many have this problem and there has been no response to the problem.

K70%
by K####:

It's too slow to start apps. I've been using this app for a week now, I purchased one of the add-ons. But the awfully inconsistent speed when launching an app from a shortcut selection is really annoying! I'm going to have to uninstall it and return to my previous app shortcuts solution, which is quick and reliable at all times.

by A####:

Wow! I'm glad the author got back with the update. Hope it's not the rare one and other great updates, improvements, ideas will follow. I've been using SwipePad for years across many mobiles and consider it the great time saver. Kudos! For those who complains about a few seconds pause if you start something off the launcher screen - you have to blame Google for that. They made this limitation for a reason I can't understand. There's nothing the app dev can do!

H70%
by H####:

Absolutely love this app. Been using for years and years now. So glad it's still in development after a long time with no updates. Only issue I'm having now on S8+ is it seems to block use of the use of swipepad in its own apps

Q70%
by Q####:

Love this app but facing one problem. It is not disabling while keyboard opened. I use SwiftKey and I enable blacklist for the same, but It continue to work while keyboard in use. It's annoying as am using bottom areas as its activation areas..

by Q####:

Got a new phone and now this app bugs with screen over lay meaning I can't multitask. Which isn't good for me as I use this phone for multiple businesses. Please fix it. Previous versions were great before this. Now it's just useless.

Q70%
by Q####:

Can't say enough good things about it. Not only is a great out of the way launcher, but the context button is genius, allowing you to quickly force stop or uninstall an app while it's running! Hidden gem. Unfortunately peek interferes with top edge activation hotspots :(

Q70%
by Q####:

I love being able to access any app from inside any other app. This is awesome! Update 12-3-17: Uninstalling for now because it's unreliable with Oreo on the Pixel 2, but I'll reinstall as soon as it's fixed because this really is the best app ever!

S70%
by S####:

Perfect for keeping my home screens from having tons of clutter. So easy to multitask and the widget add-on is great. Only thing that is annoying is that with Android O, SwipePad shows up under 2 Android System persistent notifications. Not the app's fault but starting to take up a lot of notification bar real estate.

Q70%
by Q####:

Been using past couple of years, no issues. A suggestion: not all the screen needs to blacken out. and arranging icons in rectagular grid seems outdated. please update on design.

Q70%
by Q####:

Swipepad is revived! Context panel bug fixed, screen overlay is still detected with v0.9.23, despite the change log saying that's addressed. Adding 1 more star to my last review, until that issue is looked into.

Q70%
by Q####:

Amazing app. You should test MIUI OS devices. The OS is extremely aggressive and kills SwipePad's service constantly, like once or twice a day. On Samsung and Motorola devices works just fine.

E70%
by E####:

Great app, but in need of an update or rewrite: oftentimes apps are triggered only after a second or third try, despite the circle being on top of the icon. Additionally, launching speed at times takes up to 3 seconds, I assume die to conflicts with android or nova launcher.

I've been using this app for many years and always loved it! The only issue I'm having is the background, it isn't showing my home wallpaper on my NOTE 8. Needs fixed for 5 stars!

Q70%
by Q####:

I love this app, been using it at least 6 yrs. But the draw permissions issue is literally messing up every app installed app's permissions. Last update worked for 2 days tops.

Q70%
by Q####:

I've used alot of quick launchers. One because they make switching between applications quick, two because they help me keep my home screens super tidy. SwipePad has features I've not found in other quick launchers - blacklist, multiple hot zones with multiple launch pads. So far this is been very stable on my Note2 and S7 edge. It even operates at the same time as edge panels.

Overlay might look like one small thing. But it makes this application useless. Five star otherwise.

U70%

Too slow to open up apps. The screen overlay issue is a big NO. Resolve those issues and it would be 5 stars for me. Its a different app for me cause of that.

I am running 2.1 on my xperia x10 mini. This phone only gives me four shortcuts on the home page, not like the newer phones which allow for lots of shortcuts. SwipePad is a great time saver for me. It is so convenient to have 12 more apps available for quick launch from the home screen. I also like how there are so many hotspots to choose from so I can avoid launching SwipePad instead of another swipe action on my phone. This is a true Triple-A rated application, bravo to the Developer!!! Updated May 2017: well, so many years later, this app is still with me (now on Samsung J7) and still one of the most innovative on play store! I tell everyone about this app!!

Q70%
by Q####:

Extremely fast and efficient access to apps, categorized folders shortcuts, widgets (anything you want). The only other multitasking launcher as fast as this is maybe Swapps. Swipepad offers convenient and immediate access to anything, from anywhere. Very very fast, very VERY powerful.

Q70%
by Q####:

Major lag when opening apps. Sometimes apps won't open or take like 5 seconds to open. Running on Oreo on my Nexus 6p. Please optimize the app.

P70%
by P####:

could be more functional if it had the recent app switcher. multitasking apps using long press home button is a pain

Z70%
by Z####:

IT'S ALIVE. The developer added a switch in the app to enable and disable the app so I don't have to go into the settings and disable the overlay access of SwipePad before I change permissions in other apps. This is a great way to work with Android 6.0.1 and up.

Q70%
by Q####:

Best of class. Flexible and customizable. Just wonder, why fixed touch zones? All competitors (otherwise inferior), allow to move them.

I70%
by I####:

Just updated to Android Oreo today and it seems the hotspot isn't staying active anymore. Been using this app for over 6 years and still loving it

Q70%
by Q####:

This app INSISTS on making the bottom left corner of my screen a Hotspot, even though I've done everything to remove that area as a Hotspot! Annoying.

Q70%
by Q####:

This app is still pretty great but the developer appears to only update it every year or so and gets glitchy after certain Android updates. I wish someone would create a similar app.

G70%
by G####:

Used more than you realise once you install. Very personal touch with great customisable options. Add ons may be necessary. Great work by the dev. REALLY NEEDS cloud backup

K70%
by K####:

Still amazing after all these years. One of the few apps that I must have installed on my phone(s). Makes access to frequent apps so much easier. And Swipe Pad is one of the very few apps that continues to be of high quality even after so many years/ updates. Keep it up!

I'm on the Pixel XL with Oreo and it's working wonderfully again. I had to play with hot spot location and size but it's back to being indispensable !
