As a first of its kind, FishNet Fishing Journal offers widget-based access for quickly logging catches. This app places a priority on quickly logging catches so you can spend more time fishing!

FishNet Fishing Journal has several innovative features:
Home Screen Widget
Two widget sizes are available (4x3 and 1x1).
Fish Counts
The widget displays a count of your total number of fish logged. The count updates based on the filter you have applied.
Filtering System
Innovative filtering system allows you to filter fish based on many different factors (Fish type, place caught, technique used, and date parameters).
Defining Fishing Places
Places allow you to set up places that you fish. The zoom level that you set works with the filter so that when you filter by a place (such as Patoka Lake for instance), that it will include only fish that have a GPS location within that recorded view. This is incredibly useful for displaying how many fish you have caught at a particular place and displaying this information on a map. Setting up places also allows you to quickly access weather for the fishing place.
Innovative Mapping
Map clustering through the mapping feature clusters catches together in a single marker when catches are near each other. It will put a count of the catches on the cluster marker. Simply click on the cluster to zoom in and see exactly where the fish were.
My Live Well
The Live Well displays detailed information on your catches. If unfiltered, it will show all your catches. If filtered (by Largemouth Bass for instance), it will display only the fish that meet the filter criteria. The Live Well allows you to perform many functions.
Photo Album
The Photo Album is also innovative in that it categorizes fish by fish type and only includes fish based on your filter. So, if you want to look at pictures of Largemouth Bass that you caught at Patoka Lake in the last 3 days, simply apply this filter and open the photo album! If unfiltered, you can get a quick count of all the different types of fish you have caught by simply opening the photo album.
Weather
You can quickly access current weather conditions and forecasts through the National Weather Service through the widget. Additionally, you can quickly choose any of your fishing places to get the weather at that location.

I like the app, just not enough to pay for it. Several features could be added. Keep catches separated by trip. Saving the location, date, weather, pictures, etc for each trip seperately. It would be more useful to present the fishing data in a way that helps fisherman isolate the variables responsible for fishing quality. i.e. separated by trips which could then be easily skimmed by the fisherman to look for commonalities between good or bad days of fishing. Then I would consider buying. Also add lure type

It would be nice to be able to have a section that you could track the number of fish caught and write some notes about what kind of fish caught without having to enter each fish individually.. You pay 2.99 so you can add an unlimited number of fish caught. This is very cumbersome... I want to fish not keep logging fish individually at the exact time it was caught... The individual section is very good but having that other section would make it worth the money... It would be nice to email the whole report

Was a 4.5-5 until my phone got updated to Android 5. Now when I add a fish I get an error and it no longer record the location. Got. LG G4 w/lollipop & now it works again.

You can only log 8 fish then you have to buy something to unlock it. Not worth it IMO.

Untill it starts saving all your pictures into another file over an over till you have multiple folders of duplicate pictures in your gallery. This app has potential if it worked right.

Fix the moon phases and add water levels and you'd have an almost perfect App. Without those two things its just a little above average App. If you could add a way to save and then load your data when transitioning devices or as a simple backup and you approach perfection. YO

Really good app only downside for me is it won't display weather as I'm in the UK (not a massive issue) and it would be nice to have the option of temperature in Celsius (again no biggie) in the add fish screen.

Great app, very easy to use. Would like to be able to change the widget skin. As others have noted it would be nice to see some fields added such as lure color. Very useful for dedicated fisherman looking for patterns.

Like it..needs to work on our weather location and would like to be able to delete unwanted fish species and also the photo gps location would be great if it didn't keep locking up. . Excellent app keep upgrading for a ripper!
