Locus Map Free - Outdoor GPS navigation and maps for Android
A quick explanation of how to restore from a backup on a new phone would be awesome! Great app and great dev folks.
Good. (yes...good, what more do you want?).
Started getting those can't backup notifications every few minutes, uninstalled your garbage
Great app to have.. Highly recommend for any ages who love travel especially in rugged and inaccessible terrain. It would be great Help if someone help me how to delete imported KML file!?
Would like app & stored maps to be stored on sd card, as lack of internal memory storage means I can. Only download 2maps & app won't read/write to sd memory card. Would like better user friendly version, when power save is on, locus does not track, good to view imported gpx file.
I have problem with offline maps, can not navigate while Internet connection is off. Can any body help me?
The search function is convoluted. Google maps and HERE maps have one search box for coordinates and places. Unintuitive interface. Also, entering coordinates in two boxes is a pain. Make it one box where I can copy/paste a coordinate I obtained from a website or by email/text at once.
Very accurate! Impressed
I like it
Very nice
Awesome
Best app to navigate off road trips
Hi developers. I looked the comparison. İt says offline maps are available for free version app. But I cannot import kml or shp for data. For me offline maps are shp, kml... İn free version "Map overlays" seems pro. I think a map viewer should import some GİS data for free. Special functions could be pro.
Absolutely essential for hiking! Free version completely covers all needs. I use it so much I think I'll buy it for gratitude.
Simple and accurate mapping/GPS app to use!
All working ok, useful for help on hikes
Great app. I'm using it for mountainbiking.
Best
Great tool but really needs to eliminate blank “loading” tiles to allow pan and zoom. Keep a basic low rez map. Google does it.
LAME! I got this because it said it did offline maps. Yah, if you want to PAY for usgs data they got FOR FREE!!!
Walked 300 miles in Italy's Way of St. Francis with this App, kept us on track very well.
I use locus for tracking my hiking. Recently recorded zip lining at 66 mph.
Works great, good maps.
Great app!!!
Great for traveling by foot in nature
Awesome. Simply works.
Bad: It asked all my contacts to connect despite, in android7, the app does have no access to contacts ????
Not intuitive at all.
Using this map for birding
Нічого зайвого.
Nice navigation app
Perfect for the purpose
I was lost in mountains with no signals and this app showed me the way with the exact distance from my point to were i want to go. Beside that, used with garmin has a precision of a few meters, i don't know how it works with others watches based gps.
On startup, all it does is say "Whoops, a problem. Too many requests". There's no further explanation or hint to what the problem may be, or what I could do to fix it. Am I spoiled that I expect apps to just work, without having to troubleshoot them straight after install?
Not very detailed map. Didn't even have the American Tobacco Trail - one of the most famous rail trails in North Carolina.
For me, and perhaps I've been unfortunate, this has been like going back to loading a game in DOS decades ago. Finding things in the menus is not intuitive but manageable, moving the data to your sd card involves lots of selecting folders as changing the root directory for me did nothing. Finding why the navigation off line didn't work was a process of trial and error and when you do get it all working the screen is quite cluttered. Setting a navigation route works well and is fast online with map quest and offline it's not too bad either. The routes it chooses offline seems to be pretty good for cycling too. I'd say at this stage that the actual software for navigating etc is pretty good, but the menus and setup need a lot more thought and effort, which is a shame because many will just give up after the first error. The free maps are a nice touch and the price of the packaged OSM maps is very low too, but the need to buy the app before you can see exactly what the pro version does is a big handicap for me. I am more than happy to buy the app if it's what I need, but I can't see the elevation data unless I buy the app and would like to see it work before I do! Chicken and egg. A 14 day trial would have been a good feature for me. So overall, a bit cluttered complicated and error prone, but in the end when you've spent the time sorting through everything possibly worth it judging by the huge number of 5* reviews. Who knows. I'm going to try a few cycle trips with it and see how I get on. UPDATE: well within yet more errors after I loaded the Germany north map meaning I couldn't used the navigation as the error had no help in it to track down what I'd done wrong this time I've given up and gone back to OSMAnd. Sorry, I really really wanted to like this app, but it's just too hard work. Perhaps next year...
Simple and yet full featured. Bye bye MyTrails...
This Is Free Version Very Usefull
Get a message saying "previous state". Starts at about 60% and takes forever. Ugh!
