Solidarity for Android
I'm very interested in how this works, and the Android and iPhone versions are rather different, so how do you link everyone up? The iPhone app has a QRCode scanning feature, but the Android version doesn't seem to have a way to identify who we are communicating with. Would like better documentation to explain how this needs to be configured, and giving 2 stars since it is seemingly non-functional but a really cool concept.

It works through BlueTooth and local WiFi when people are on the same WiFi network. It doesn't require any Internet connectivity. It didn't work for me through the BlueTooth, as it probably won't for most who doesn't have the very latest version of Android because of some Android BlueTooth bugs in the older versions. I communicated with the app author, he explained it all very nicely. This app can help in the emergency situations when the regular infrastructure is down. Or if you just feel like connecting to random strangers around you.
