Slide for Reddit Pro for Android
I've had the app since beta for the awesome UI! Of course there have been bugs here and there, but nothing that would ever make me stop using this app. I've tried almost all the other clients and nothing compares to the great material design and sleek UI of Slide for Reddit. 10/10 would recommend.
Feels like and improvement over Reddit is Fun, which I had been using for years. Only issues that I have so far on my Google Pixel is that the left drawer gets stuck sometimes and occasionally the app doesn't load anything on first launch, forcing me to refresh. Hope you get it fixed otherwise it'd be perfect.
It's the best reddit app available and open source so I paid for a license. I don't really know if many of the pro features are things I need. Just bought to support the dev for his good open source version on F Droid market place
Fantastic app. Bought only to support open source software. Thanks for making the best Reddit client and giving it away for free as well. The only problem it has is that I've been getting a lot of gifycat conversion errors for a while now. Overall it's amazing though.
Switched from Relay after hearing very impressive things about Slide. Been using Slide for a while and no complaints; the level of customization is a plus. Only gripe is that I'd like an easy option to view drafts (can't seem to find it). Otherwise a solid app, worth donating to the developer.
When I login to reddit first time, this app syncs 50 unrelated subreddits to the client. I thought it was only a bug so I uninstalled and reinstalled, same result. Not to mention many weird bugs.
I love the look of this app but images sometimes fail to load. This happens most frequently on my tablet. Also the search function seems to be broken. It works sometimes but other times the loading circle will go on forever. Very frustrating. Hope these things can be fixed because the app is very user friendly and aesthetically gorgeous.
My favorite Reddit app there is. Only issue I've found is that sometimes it hangs when you click the app icon to launch it. Anywhere from 1-3 seconds. Happens off and on. Very annoying.
Really enjoyed using the free version and so buying because of that. The only thing I miss is more control over colours - being able to set rgb values like in mixplorer instead of picking from a very limited palette would be a big improvement for me.
I love slide, so I bought slide pro to support it. However the app crashes every 15 minutes or so. This has only happened since I got the app. Otherwise it's great.
But it's a fantastic app and it's basically the only Reddit client that deals with tablet space reasonably well. Not sure why that is, but it got my money.
I'm getting daily 403 errors, sometimes several times a day. It's getting real old having to force stop the app and restart it. When this issue is brought up on r/slideforreddit were being told to just restart it. Not good enough, uninstalling this.
I've tried a lot of apps for Reddit, slide for Reddit won me over. Easy to use, customize, add friends, multi subs, and navigation is very smooth.
Tried this app a little earlier and I thought it lacked a few things. Decided to check now and very impressed. Great theme customization. Tons of views. The desktop condensed mode is amazing. Lifesaving offline mode. Kudos!
One of the best designed Android apps I've ever used. Special mention for the attention to detail in things like keeping the voting buttons easily approachable via the thumb and the consistent back gesture throughout the app. Great job, developer.
I think shadowbox mode could be improved if you disable the status bar while in it. Keep up the good work!
Slide is a good reddit app, and adding the option to share a Reddit post in addition to the original link and open the post externally would make it the GOAT. thx!
Update: Something seriously needs to be done about the Up and Down buttons in the comment thread being too low, too thin and too close to the back button of the phone (Note 5/Samsung/any phone with physical back button). It's KILLING THE EXPERIENCE as it is TOO CLOSE TO THE BACK BUTTON so everytime I need to go to the next thread, and I hit the back button by mistake, I exit the comments completely back to the front page! Argh! This doesn't happen with Relay coz their Up/Down buttons are floating a bit higher and they're bigger. Also, Relay has the advantage of saving your spot in the comments (until you open a new one) and the comment pane doesn't have to reload every single time if you back out of it by mistake. God forbid you've read until the second last thread and exit it by mistake and have to go through it all again to find your spot. Seriously, this issue is teeth grindingly annoying and I honestly am considering going back to Relay only because of this. Even left a comment about this to Dev on a Reddit thread months ago. But Dev doesn't seem as responsive as before. Also, there's no jump by Search in the comments like Relay. Old Review many months back: Thought I'd never use anything after Relay, well, I thought wrong! The 1 thing stopping me from making this my full time client is the lack of filters in comments (the famous Relay fab button). It's nice to jump from thread to thread in Slide comments, but nothing beats the choice of jumping comments based on Time, OP, Gilded, AMA & my personal fave, by Search. It truly changes the reddit experience.
Best Reddit app I've ever used and I've used many different ones. This one is top notch.
I switched from RIF and was overall pleased. Great layout, very intuitive controls and plenty of customization. However for the past few weeks half of the GIFs throw an error that says "converting the GIF through gifycat did not work" yet those posts will open in every other Reddit app I've tried. Fix that and I'll gladly give you the last star.
I tried slide back when it was in Beta and had a terrible experience. Thought I'd give it a shot again and amazing. I see all bugs have been delt with and it works great. I just wish we had an all white theme. Something to emulate the official reddit app. That white theme is so classy.
I started using this while it was in beta because of the display options it had. I never could quite get any other Reddit app to look quite right. Endured a lot of crashing through the early releases and glad and I stuck with it as now the issues are all gone and we just get plenty of quality updates. This really is the best reddit app.
Good guy dev. Creates best reddit reader and gives it away for free without crippling it with a freemium feature model. Having said that, buy pro, especially if you have a tablet but also to support the dev. Keep it up. This craps all over the officially client
Slide keeps loading subreddits and threads I've already left or only swiped through. This can result in subreddits and threads within subreddits taking multiple minutes to load. Both Relay and Sync manage this much better.
I never post reviews, I rarely come across an app that goes above and beyond. That is not the case here. I used to think Reddit is Fun was the best app out there, until I tried Baconreddit and liked more of its features. Then I wondered if there were better ones than that one also. I downloaded Sync, Relay, and lastly Slide. Slide wins by a land-Slide (get it? Ok, I'll stop). It wins because of the customizations, interface, & options. Loved it so much I bought the Pro just to support a fellow student.
I have two Reddit accounts and when I switch between them, the subreddits don't change. I can only view subreddits on one account. Please fix because this is the best (and my favorite) Reddit app!
I would never say I could switch to another reddit client after using rela...one of the competitors for years. However, this app is worth it. Design, speed, navigation, customisable elements are all well worth it. I purchased the pro version just to support the developer! Well done! Really well done
Just switched to the Nexus 5X. The app crashes consistently when I try to do specific things. I'll email with more details of you're curious, devs. Still a great app, I will change review when improved!
I tried Slide after spending years using Sync, and I'm not disappointed! Great dev and frequent updates. Most feature requests made by the users are added within days. I'm glad I paid for the Pro version, it's worth it! The commenting features (links, auto-upload images to imgur, easy quotes, etc.) made me much more active on reddit!
This is the best app I've come across for Reddit. I didn't need the Pro mode features but I wanted to support the Dev anyway I could.
I finally purchased the pro version to support development even though I don't have any need for the features it adds. This is the only Reddit app the could get me to leave Reddit is Fun. Clean design and very reliable.
Didn't need the pro features. Simply wanted to support this app and its development. Keep it up!
But it's a fantastic app and it's basically the only Reddit client that deals with tablet space reasonably well. Not sure why that is, but it got my money.
swipe scrolling tabs, multiple options for themes, deep customization plus backup of settings. seriously, this app is as good as it gets and the dev is beyond good. great communication by email or the Reddit sub
I really find this design easy to navigate between subreddits and images. A decent amount of customization. I'd like more colors or a color picker to pick my theme for each subreddit. Ive used RIF, Sync, Relay, Bacon, and Slide tops them all for me
Didn't need pro but wanted to support the Dev for his hard work. This is THE Reddit app for Android, simple as that.
Didn't even need these features. Just wanted to support the dev
The developer works so hard and has produced such an amazing app. Please support him!
Why there are no options for shadowbox layout? Post title at the bottom is terrible design choice for readability. User should read title first, content second to get the whole point of the post, not the other way around.

As a new Redditor I needed a good freedom-wise open app and F-Droid pointed me to this one. I couldn't help myself but pay for it, as it's really well built and you can easily check out it's source code in Github. I've tried other ones and, while being decent, this one offers everything I need. And if there is a bug or lacks some feature, you can always make a commitment or fork it. Thank you developer for this awesome app. Free Software FTW! :)
