Very useful to manage even a large dbase with lots of PDFs attached. I noticed a weird behaviour on my tablet (Samsung P905 aka Note Pro 12.2 / Android 5.0.2): when switching orientation (horizontal to vertical or viceversa) while viewing a collection of refs, it reloads the dbase and then quits. It is a minor annoyance but I hope you can correct it.

If you use Dropbox forget this app. it works just with local storage. I have pocket bib for iOS and that's another story , ok I understand that this is free but I am asking if there is a decent app able to manage bibtex references in Android devices

L70%
by L####:

After making some change at the BIB file, it was unable to be saved overwriting the previous version. Worth a fix? Overall great app, suits my needs. Thank you! Edit: last update solves the issue!

F70%

It supports linked documents the way JabRef does, which is fantastic. The only problem I have encountered so far is that it does not recognise the alternate author name format when sorting by author. In addition to "Last, First" Bibtex and Jabref also support "First Last" but this app will use the first name for sorting for such entries.

Perfect solution in combination with dropbox to access the literature library synchronized from desktop. Can use jabref database file with relative file paths...

N70%
by N####:

I can easily sync my database using foldersync with its copy on UbuntuOne. What I miss is an easy way to link a file with its bibtex reference. Another improvement would be some file association feature. I can open PDF djvu files, but it refuses to work with the epub format. P.S. after editing a file created in reftex, links to file stopped working. Edit: it works fine. My mistake.

Very useful app for any sort of writing. Guilty of using it for a to-purchase list.

Want references on your Android device - look no further. Fast, stable and just the ticket. I use Endnote on desktop and wanted to carry my references with me - all I do now is export using the Bibtext style and save it to my phone.

S70%

An application I greatly needed! Great features: (a) possibility of accessing my BibTex bibliographical repository in Dropbox from a tablet/smartphone, and not only from my office pc (b) possibility of modifying the bibliographical entries on the move, e.g. to add my comments to my ''comment'' entry field (but to save in Dropbox I have to digit the path by hand?) (c) I can open the .pdf files of the papers based on the JabRef link contained in their BibTex entry, add comments and highlightings in the .pdf file (e.g., with the external App ReplyGo that opens the .pdf), and then save the changes directly in the Dropbox .pdf file. Unfortunately, I cannot open a repository with 4000 entries and 1800 pdf files from Dropbox: the program is not capable of visualising the content of the large Dropbox directory (too many files, I think; this could be easily solved if I could directly tell the program the dropbox:///path/file.bib to open). At the end I cannot use it... : ( I give 5 stars as this is exactly the program I needed! So I really hope in the future its limitations will be solved and I can use it with my large file!!

Exactly what I need. Using FolderSync to sync with my cloud share and qPDF Notes to annotate the PDFs (incl. highlighting). Looking forward to the ability to handle groups. Thanks Robert!

I have my main bib file in Dropbox, synced to my phone, and can use refmaster to check things on the go.

The only complain I have is that this app crashes sometimes if I rotate my phone (not often though). Also, it would be nice not to convert the titles into lower case (or at least have an option for that in preferences). There may be terms, abbreviates, and formulas in titles, which look ugly when written in lower case.

Simple, clean interface; Dropbox integration is handy. Excellent tool for managing a reference list created with jabref. Under active development.

This might be my mistake -- but I can't get the app to save to dropbox; I open a file from there, but when I want to save changes, the app refuses to do so on dropbox and I get a cryptic error message after filling in a filename. Great idea, still!

A70%

I can carry the entire reference for my work without a hassle. If you use the sync function with Dropbox, the reference management is simple. UI is simple and functional. I absolutely recommend it to anybody working with bibtex and jabref.

I really enjoy using this and it is pretty intuitive too, but since I am not using BibTex on the PC I would love an option to create new libraries.

X70%

The support for jabref specific options is really nice. Overall, this is very simple and functional application. I definitely recommend it to anyone who needs to manage bibtex files on Android. Kudos to the developer!

Falta la integración con los grupos que se crean en jabRef no los permite visualizar. Esto es muy importante por favor integrenlo.

M70%

Great start, your planned features of Dropbox integration and JabRef groups would make this one of the most useful apps on my phone. Even if these features were only available in a Pro version I would buy it. This actually does work with DropBox, the only part I have found that doesn't work is a linked JabRef file can't open if it is in cloud storage and not stored locally on the device. Hopefully there is a work around for this.

This is really nice, and is only a couple of features short of being everything I need for reference management on android. In-app dropbox support is clearly the biggest thing; using RefMaster as a searchable index into a large set of references stored in a dropbox folder has got to be one of the most common use cases, but its hamstrung as long as you have to exit the app to manually download the file every time. Second request would be some support of JabRef groups, so that I could have an easily accessible sublist of references on the tablet itself. Nice job so far!

Great app, extremely helpful for adding references quickly. One thing I would like to see is dropbox support. I work on multiple devices and so keep all of my files in folders on dropbox. Being able to save directly to these folders would help me immensely.

Most useful app! I comment on my papers using my Galaxy Note II, I sync them with my PC using Subversion. Now I no longer need to manually browse through my collection, I have a nice interface that gives me easy access to all papers. Fantastic!

Q70%

I have 1300 references in a jabref database, all linked with the corresponding PDF and I hard a hard time navigating my list of files on my tablet. Thanks to your app, I can get to the paper I want in just a couple of clicks. I had been waiting for someone to write this for a long time. Thanks again. Suggestion: the search could be greatly improved by auto-suggestion of supplementary keywords based on words in the subset matching the current search.

I am a Ph.D. student and use my tablet to read scientific litterature. The only thing I was missing was an app to manage my bibtex references stored in Dropbox. The app works exactly as advertised. Thanks a lot!

H70%
by H####:

It looks very promising. The JabRef integration is especially nice. One obvious and extremely easy improvement would be to allow configuration of the location of the root folder for PDF files. Right now it's relative to bib file location and it's very restrictive.

Would be fun to use, but I can't use my barcode reader.

T70%

This is very useful. I use it to compile lists of books in my library by scanning the barcodes. After scanning, it downloads the details from google books and allows you to save it. It does exactly what it says. I haven't figured out how to export the entire list which is why didn't give it 5 stars.
