AndFTP (your FTP client) for Android
Android KitKat 4.4.2 sdcard write-access bug has no work around in this app. You cannot download your files onto phone's sdcard because KitKat/4.4.2 causes FileNotFoundException/EACCESS permision denied when trying to download files from server onto sdcard
Works well enough for some files. Other files inexplicably "upload" but wind up with 0k files on the destination end. There doesn't quite seem to be a rhyme or reason but the same file "problem" files consistently do this. Not reliable enough for me to keep using.
Looks nice enough, but the crypto system is not compatible with modern sshd servers. Server-end error message "DH GEX group out of range" because it does not support larger Diffie-Hellman group sizes.
It is not able to use modern ciphers in scp. If the administration on your system refuses to open a security hole by allowing certain ciphers, you cannot connect with that system
Very easy to use once you get it. Got confused with where I was downloading and uploading to because they appear in different screens when you click the phone icon and the cloud icon.
Works fine as an FTP client as far as I can tell, but when trying to connect using scp with an RSA key, it gives an error: Session.connect: java.io.IOException: End of IO Stream Read. The same error shows when using the SFTP option. This is when trying to connect to a FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE server (which I can connect to without trouble using JuiceSSH for normal ssh use). I don't have any other servers to test this with, but I believe this is a client bug. If this can be corrected I'll update my review.
Insecure, don't install. The app uses insecure encryption protocols, which don't work with properly configured servers. They haven't fixed this for over a year. Abandonware. Avoid.
The ONLY one that works! Tried every other app out there, and they're all GARBAGE! This worked right out of the box, did exactly what I needed, and didn't try to spam me with useless BS.
This is the third time I'm trying to send this in to warn people. This app in particular and man, many more structured similarly are being placed in Google play store without being detected by play protect neither while dormant in their system or as it does a regular sweep of apps on your device. Google is not safe at this time. I am a developer, you may look me up, I have no bad reviews. Don't trust the Google play store to sell you safe apps until they do a complete internal audit and reprogramming of it's security software
This app is absolutely wonderful but it would be nearly perfect if it could 1) run properly in the background or when the screen is off, without having to babysit during large file transfers and 2) an option to support simultaneous transfers in order to save time. 1 transfer at a time is inconvenient. When navigating up 1 directory, I really miss the [Go up a folder] button, still shown in the screenshots, because it was easier to tap with your finger instead of that new tiny left pointing arrow. This app seems to get about 1 update about every 18 months, unfortunately. However, it's mostly bug free, except for its inability to run in the background (which is aggravating). Another shortcoming is the inability to move files. AndFTP is among my most used Android apps. I paid for the pro version years ago so I'm hoping the developer can update it more frequently.
Great app, I used this on my BlackBerry Classic and Passport with os10. Now have the Keyone and the app is still as quick as it used to be and the sync feature helps me to save my files to my server. Would not be without it, best of all the app works, there are no fancy animations or effects and its great.
Doesn't work as others have said. They should add RSA and DSA keys in the free version. I guess it _IS_ called andFTP and not andSCP... :/
this is waste guys.... just use es file explorer ftp client... thats the best
Slow, but the technology is not their fault. Works well with resume, so excellent in my book. Simple interface.
Bought it but now searching for other FTP client. File completion is just not reliable, also has problems with hidden files. (Starting with a .) Asked for support twice no reply.
Mediocre at best, unstable and insecure at worst. Seems stuck in 2013. Does what it is supposed to about 80% of the time, granted it will cock up if screen timeout sets in, regardless of settings.
Ugly ad pops up and disrupts session. Delete then wash hands.
I was looking for a suitable substitute for Filezilla and after trying various apps, I have decided to stick with this one. It is easy to use and does everything that I want.
Times out a lot on Oreo 8.0. Too much "broken pipe".
Very easy to use FTP client, plus I like how this uses the old "Holo" visual style from Android 4.x!
I start up a server with no password, and logging in asks for a password. even changing the password doesnt work what the hell
Excellent app. Very easy to use.
I have recently tested sFTP, vsFTPd. Wonderful product. Very stable. Excellent tech support too. Highly recommend.
does not work gives error messages, other clients work fine
Simple, easy and does what I need. Transfers are fast and reliable for home use with a media server.

it work so well

When testing this application with my FileZilla server through implict, then explicit connection methods with the correct ports, encoding, etc for each method, my file server closed the connection. I'm assuming this is due to how this app does not acknowledge/accept the certificate when the server sends it, which is possibly why the server closes the connection. In general, plain FTP connections work perfectly without any hiccups, but FTPS fails with this app.
Downloads constantly fail unless I leave the download screen up the entire time. The moment I try to look at any other app while the download is taking place, the download fails. That means you have to babysit the download, which is frustrating. With that said, it seems to perform better than any other FTP client for Android that I have tested. It just means there is a big need for better performing FTP clients on Android.

Not very intuitive. The ui is very simple. If you know what you are doing this free app with minimal ads at the bottom is very useful. I was able to see the directory of my website and upload a simple html file to test. Worked without having to pay for advanced features
