About InstaCamera Pro

InstaCamera is the quickest way to take a photo with your phone.
There's no long process: just press the widget and it takes a photo, then closes just as quickly.
.
## Why should I pay for this when there's a free version?
* This one's quicker. Like, seriously 'turbo computer-brains Skynet' quicker
* There are no ads
* You can choose the folder your images get saved in
* Because you want to say "awesome!" with money
.
## Why is it so awesome?
InstaCamera is perfect for when you want to take a photo but there's tons of pesky seals and squirrels and dogs around who you KNOW are gonna pop up in front to spoil the shot. And then they're all, 'oh, I was smelling something' but really they're jealous of your Android phone and opposable thumbs and want to ruin your whole day with their stupid faces. But you've got a super-fast camera app, so you've snapped a photo before they've even decided which face to pull. Take that, nature!
.
## Settings
Even though the app is super-simple, you can change how it works. Open the settings (the wrench icon on the widget) and you can make these adjustments:
* choose the folder your photos get saved in
* take multiple shots in a row (up to five)
* mute the shutter sound
* turn the "Image Saved" confirmation off
* change the photo resolution (default is max)
* set the focus mode (including fixed, infinite, auto and macro focus modes)
* set the shutter delay (from not-even-focusing to two seconds) in case your camera hardware needs extra time
* stay in camera mode after taking instant photos (then you touch the screen to take more, and back button to quit)
There are two widgets: the 1x1, which is just the camera button, and the 2x1, which has a camera button and a settings button.
.
## Permissions
We got it down to three permissions in this version:
Storage: the app needs to save photos on your phone.
Hardware controls: the app needs to access the camera.
Wakelock: the app needs enough time to save your photo if you turn the screen off before it's 100% done. (Not the scary, battery-draining kind of wakelock. The cool kind that's chilled out.)
Note: there's also a Google thing called Check License which doesn't show up in the permission screen, but it's in the app. It pings the Market every once in a while and says the app is legit.
.
## Feedback
If you like it or don't like it, say why in your review comment. That way we can make it better instead of just being sad and grumpy and trying one more time to get all the stars on Angry Birds but why doesn't it shoot in the right place, the stupid thing!?!? We made this app because it's slightly more awesome than what's out there already, so if you can use your words then it'll be better next time, we promise.

Works awesome and very fast. I only wish that it would show up as an option to quickly take a picture and upload from web browser.

App didn't work on my flashed and rooted S3. Makes my phone freeze and now video playback doesn't work on my phone, although that may not be related. HOWEVER, the company was quick to reply and offer troubleshooting tips and when that didn't work offered a refund. So 1 star for the app but 5 stars for the developer.

This is a five star app with an icon so painful to look at that I may have to uninstall the app to banish that hideous icon from my phone. PLEASE shrink the widget icon by 50% and some less blinding colors would be nice too. Buyers beware, put your sunglasses on before adding widget to desktop. Restore my sight and I will add another star. Eta, thanks for the new colors#

Takes great photos instantly! Love it! Thanks to the developer! One little issue I'm having is no shutter sound although I ticked it on. :-( Am I doing something wrong?

Y70%

It works as advertised , it's fast, simple, that's it! I contacted the dev for two minor bugs and they were promptly fixed on the next update.

Makes taking pictures so easy. Had a problem with focusing on my D2G so I e-mailed them and they fixed it. Now I have a Razr and its superb. A must have for capturing quick moments!

... I've also experience issues with the stock Gallery seemingly not picking up the last images (Pro version, Xperia Ray). I've started using the excellent QuickPic which doesn't suffer from this problem, so I don't have much tp report on circumstances etc.. REQUESTS; I'd like a mode where the app is semi-instant, so that the camera bursts instantly into life when the app is launched, but it requires a second tap to take the first picture - a bit like the situation where it stays active between successive pictures; also I'd like to see the current settings in some sort of small overlay on the screen as a reminder. Not concerned about being able to change anything, I'd just like to be aware. VERDICT: well worth it's money. Less is more.

I liked the free version, and bought the pro version to change the save location to the default camera folder, hoping it would trigger Dropbox's camera upload. Unfortunately, it doesn't work yet. But I kept the app to support the dev.

Excellent app! To everybody having problems with the camera not starting or the constant media scan. Download Rescan media ROOT. It will stop the problem. It will stop the media scanning every time you take a picture. And normal camera will start too

Excellent app for getting those fast moments. The focus is wonderful.

Now no pictures are saved. Tried full uninstall and reinstall. Still no pictures are saved. A week after the update, still no update to fix what was not broke.

So much quicker than opening the camera, waiting on that, then finally being able to take that quick shot that bust happens as they always do!

N70%

excellent app. I use it almost daily. it is so much faster than opening the camera app. My only complaint is that I don't like the bright red widget icon.

I have instacamera set to take 1 picture and then close the camera. Once this happens, the media scanner runs and I cannot open the camera again until its done. Samsung Galaxy s2 Epic Touch 4g running 2.3.6 with touchwiz.

We still need, as other's have stated, a way to make this the default app on a lockscreen. This would be when the "complete action using" dialog box comes up. InstaCamera or InstaCamera Pro is not in that list. This needs to be coded in by the dev. Please make this an options and it's a perfect app. just like others have said; it works great and it's fast.

Well worth buying for the extra features, I use it more than any other camera app.

D70%
by D####:

I've had the free version since it came out, and now the pro version is here I couldn't wait to buy it. All of the extra features are easily worth the $1. The app takes the picture and closes so fast now, I had to check to see if it had actually done anything! Can't wait for the pro versions of the other insta apps.

Droid X. Gingerbread. Not rooted, stock. Currently working with the developer to find a fix for the focusing problem I am having. This is a great app and I appreciate the developers willingness to fix the issue. As far as I know this is only on the Droid X, and may only be my Droid X, more DX owners are needed to try and figure this out. I hope we do as I really would love to have this working! 5 Stars once we do.

this is what i need, fast camera startup, but why the size of pro version is larger than the free one? and i dont feel the pro version has a faster startup speed, maybe u need some tweak to make it faster or can take a photo without preview screen or open app . thx

A camera app that can't take pictures. Nothing actually saves to internal or sd card when you take a picture with this app. Save your money. Edit: Latest update has made this app functional. Still not sure if it can be relied on yet.

Loving the app when I first downloaded it but recently it intermittently won't save and other times takes hours before the image appears in its folder. No rhyme or reason for when it happens. Missed a few good pictures unfortunately.

Worked in August 2013, then suddenly became glitchy by adding line artifacts on the edges of the files. Contacted the developer, no response. Please fix!

…about 1 sec faster to load up & snap, and quicker to close too. However it still takes about 2 secs from pressing the widget to actually taking a picture (I tested it by photographing a clock that displayed seconds), and that length of time could mean missed opportunities (like trying to capture the licence plate of a hit-and-run car)… I just wish it could be faster!!!

R70%
by R####:

Broken, do not buy. Will check for license indefinitely, forcing you to restart it, then after 10 pictures or so it won't save any photos. Don't waste your money unless the sleeping developer wakes up and fixes it. Also where's the nice grey circle widget the screen shots show? This red one is hideous and nearing on false advertisement. Give us the option.

On HTC One XL, CM10.1 The app was "Checking licence information" forever when opened for the first time after every install/reinstall. Killed it and was able to open the app and change the settings, as well as take some photos. After about a dozen pictures taken and saved successfully, the app won't save any more photos to storage even though it seemed to have taken a picture successfully every time when the widget is activated. Tried changing every setting available and uninstalled/reinstalled to no avail. Free version works ok. Any solution?

First had a problem on update to ICS Android V4, as did many of my camera apps. When I reported it this was the first app to be fixed to work perfectly now. Thanks it works just as I need.
