About InstaCamera
InstaCamera is the quickest way to take a photo with your phone.
There's no shutter button: just open the app and it takes a photo, then closes just as quickly.
## Why is it so awesome?
InstaCamera is perfect for when you see a bird with a stupid expression on its face and you want to post it to Reddit and get a bazillion upvotes. With a normal camera app you'd have to press about three things... by that time the owl would have resumed its look of watchful distrust, and there goes your big shot at internet fame. Nobody should have to suffer this disappointment.
## Settings
Even though the app is super-simple, you can change how it works. Open the settings (companion app with a wrench icon) and you can make these adjustments:
* take multiple shots in a row (up to five)
* change the shutter volume (default is 60%)
* change the photo resolution (default is max)
* stay in camera mode after taking instant photos (then you touch the screen to take more, and back button to quit)
## Permissions
There are four we had to use for InstaCamera:
Storage: the app needs to save photos to the SD card.
Network communication: to get the ads in the settings screen.
Phone calls: ads do a 'Read Phone State' ping or it doesn't count as an ad impression.
Hardware controls: the app needs to access the camera.

This app is awesome for taking a very fast picture. Works well for that, 5 stars. However, I wanted to use this as a super-quick way to take a new picture and upload to a webpage, but the app does not show up in the applications offered when clicking browse. I think it would need to set something called an intent for it to do that. Consider this a feature request.

Does exactly what it says on the tin and the only feature I've found myself wanting for is a way to launch it without taking a photo (because it doesn't often focus well for the first shot on my One V).

The shutter goes off OK but afterwards the pictures can't be found in the gallery. Fix please.

You can't see what you're aiming at. You press the button, and it's saving the pic. Also almost all white. Bad quality. Uninstalling.

Image doesn't appear in stock gallery. Uninstalled then reinstalled the app only solved the issue for a moment. Will try again to see if problem persist. Please fix this.

This pretty much depends on your phone, how fast is it as snapping plus saving the pics at the same time. Overall, it's okay.

Excellent and fast way of capturing those fleeting moments that normally dissipate before you normally open camera. Keeps existing settings (max res) and mute works fine but unable to find option to install shortcut on lock screen. Widget a bit big & ugly , and media scanning after each use annoying, otherwise 5 stars. , (but grateful to dev anyway, will buy pro to support.)

Even with the update, the mute option for the shutter sound does not work. Droid 3.

This app is great for quick shots. However, its been using an excessive amount of my data since I've installed it, running in the background. The most of all my apps (>300mb). I see no reason it that it should be doing this. Why does the app consistently need to connect til the internet and what is it sending back and forth? I've disabled the background usage, but you guys should probably fix that, or I'll have to uninstall the app.

Picture doesn't save after picture is snapped. Force closes when it attempts to save.

Its only job is a quick snapshot (good idea), but it doesn't wait for cam to stabilize/focus, so results are unpredictable and poor on a GNex (ICS).

Make sure you add the widget to your home screen. Bought the Pro version. Crazy fast. Worth it.

To the people who say it only goes to settings, you are running the app. What you need to do it create a widget. when you select the widget it will quickly take a picture and it works perfectly! SO CREATE A WIDGET TO MAKE IT WORK.

It takes, it saves, takes again, saves again.....subject has gone by second shot. ...need to take, take, save, save etc. Also I would prefer it to store photos in same location as most camera apps default to.
