About Smart Distance
Smart Distance is a tool in extended set of the Smart Tools collection.
This rangefinder (telemeter) measures the distance to a target using camera perspective. The effective distance is 10m-1km. It can be very useful to golfers, hunters and sailors.
To measure the distance, you should know the height (width) of a target.
Don't worry!! Man's height is 1.7m(5.6ft), a golf flag is 7ft, a bus is 3.2m(10.5ft), a door is 2.1m(7ft). We can guess approximate height of almost everything.
Furthermore, if you know an aircraft model, you can measure the altitude of a flying aircraft. For reference, Boeing 747's width is 72 meters (236ft).
Usage is simple: Input the height(width) of the target, and touch the screen. If the target is aligned by 2 green lines, get the measured distance.

You need to know either the height or width of an object ahead of you for reference. The formula within the app does the rest. No just pointing and measuring though. If you know the height of your ceiling for instance say 2.4metres then its simple to do the distance. If people cant work this app out then they are slightly dim IMO.

So apparently there are a lot of stupid people who used this app without reading how it works. You have to actually input the ht of your target you're trying to measure the distance from, then in whichever unit of measurement you chose it will give you, you're distance relative to that object, fairly accurate too btw. I'm just not happy with the loud shutter sound this dumb app makes each time I open the measurement screen.
