DropSpace for Android
After spending several sessions trying to configure this app to sync my files I have given up and decided it is easier just to copy them manually. This is one of the most unreliable and most difficult to configure applications I have ever used.
It takes a little time and effort to understand how to set up syncing, but it does work. It's all in the touch and hold to display directories or select them and set them up. It's a good freebie Dropbox sync and configurable. The scheduler is also a great addition.
Highly useful; fills a void in the official Dropbox app functionality. One big issue on Android 5: the actual SD card is not detected, and can not be used for backup/sync. DropSpace is still useful for backing up files from your device's internal storage, but in my experience SD cards are much less reliable and really do need regular backups.
Works great. Would like to pay to remove ads
Difficult user interface. Once I figured that out, worked quite well. Limited in that it only backs up from SD storage, but that is easily managed,
The app would be really great if it actually worked,it uploads a few megabytes then hangs,it also doesn't have Micro SD support, 2 stars for the effort.
Exactly what I needed!
only works with internal sd
This app will only sync the emulated internal sd card. There's no option to browse to the actual sd card. A pity, as the overall idea is what I'm looking for, but it's still missing much-needed functionality in order to be properly useful. Add the ability to use the actual sd card, and it'll get 5 stars.
1: This is one of the few Droppbox sync apps that works for me (a lot of the others frequently get stuck syncing). This is, of course, vital. 2: If a file is deleted remotely and later updated locally, it is not recreated remotely when syncing (It says "preserving remotely deleted local file" but does not upload the updated file). Need more syncing options. 3: The "Manage sync list" UI is confusing, it is not clear what local folder pairs with what Dropbox folder.I'm tempted to manage sync pairs directly from SQLite (but am too coward for that). But hey, it's free.
Great apk for sync, love it
Tried the top folder on the sdcard and a sub-folder a couple of times. Made sure to select the dropbox folder. In history it looks like it tried to sync once but no files were ever synched
I don't understand, it's needlessly confusing to simply select what folder to sync.
only works with internal sd
Needs support for SD cards
smallest client i know. thx dev
Excellent
With the DropSpace Plugin For Tasker (it works with Llama too) it is just a perfect app for me. In Tasker or Llama you can schedule automatic syncing with any conditions set, for example, I set up syncing at 3:30 AM when WiFi is on and the telephone is being charged from AC. Five stars for me.
Howdy, brilliant app. Would love it more if I could prevent upload for some dirs and prevent download for some dirs, and have both for other dirs...proly asking to much
Excellent app idea. I love that you included the tasker plugin, but running the app gets stuck a third of the way. Well keep installed for hours of future updates.
Frequently I go to start a sync manually and I get "Sync in Progress." However, no files are being transferred, and the sync log indicates that the last operation "finished" many hours ago. Restarting used to help, now that doesn't work either. Cleared my list and started with a new one, still no go. Good thing Dropbox updated recently and made mass uploading easier. Still not as good as this app COULD be.
This is what I was looking for, I didn't want a 2-way sync, because the other 2 way sync on the market is annoying as it deletes files from both locations if you delete them only from one of the locations. Which is bad if you use Dropbox to clear space on your phone. This lets me choose a folder to sync, and thats just fine.
This app is amazing. My expectations where not high but this app proved me so wrong. It was easy to setup and very quickly I had every paper that I have written this semester (on my Asus Transformer) upload and safe on drop box. Amazing, it even created the appropriate directory automatically (although this probably should be optional).
I originally thought that the app would do two way sync, Smartphone to DropBox and DropBox to Smartphone, but that is not the case. This app is very useful for Smartphone to DropBox sync and I really like that the developer created a Tasker Plugin for the App as well, that way you have less things running doing scheduling. If the developer can get DropBox to Smartphone sync working, it will be 5 stars for me.
My first impressions with this app are FANTASTIC! It worked very well for the file which I tested. I hope it stands the test of time and works in the long run.
Hands-off automatic syncing is exactly what I was looking for. When I start my computer, Dropbox does the rest, syncing to it. Storage redundancy. It is great with wifi only syncing. I think it should have selectable time-of-day (not just 'hourly' or '24 hours'), as well as an option to only sync when charging.
So far it's worked as described, but I find it quite bizzare that after loading it I now get ads via text message that never happened before.
Can't complain, set up Llama, downloaded the DropSpace plugin, automatic uploads. Just what I was looking for.
It's useful application but why it's impossibly sync folders from microSD?? - possible it's some bug with SGS3. I hope this will be solved.
This app does the best job at completing the functionality of dropbox for android users. Allowing me to sync folders on my android to any folder in my dropbox is how it should be. This developer deserves kittens. Lots of kittens. Maybe some baby ducks too.
Works exactly as you'd expect it to. Been waiting for an app like this and you can imagine my surprise when I found it. Holo theme looks great in ICS. Keep up the great work dev. Now make a paid version so I can give you money and remove the ads.
I have used this for several years to sync my photos on the external SD card to my dropbox. Why has this feature gone away????
Need a feature to enable upload only.
Can't detect external SD. Only internal
Crap
Taking into account that this app is free, it does a great job of syncing. The reason that I'm giving this only three stars is highlited in the app's description - it can easily enter a state where it will refuse to sync. Simply changing my device's orientation may cause the sync info window to disappear, and put the sync operation in a state of limbo. Whether it's a permenant bug or just the developer's unwillingness to fix it leaves what could be a wonderful app, crippled.
Its 1-way only from device to cloud so that is a major limitation but its great for backup. That aside its pretty good, especially since its free, comes with a Tasker plugin and has no size limitation. But if it stops midway during sync for whatever reason (e.g no network) the whole thing will not work anymore for future syncs and u will not know unless u check the log. Developer has posted a fix (which involves manually deleting a config file or restarting your device) but this means that u need to closely monitor the app to make sure your syncs are happening. Unless this problem is fixed in the future, u can't just set it up and forget about it and depend on it to make sure your phone contents are uploaded in case it crashes. Reliability is a key issue so do check on the sync status frequently.
Not working. There was no sync at all. Shows data moving but nothing on drive. Service is a pain to start, UI is confusing and bad layout, just unrefined and didn't work
Only works with the internal sd. Needs to add external sd (or "Browse"). Useless otherwise.

i'll give 4 stars instead 5 just because there is no (or i didn't find it) some indicator of syncing. i founded it. it was in status bar. ok. that is solved, but, can it be done to ignore time stamp of file? or it it another "i-didn't-find-feature"? before i installed it and do a sync, i do manually all syncing via pc. after i started sync, i had one test file, it eat me 120mb of 3g traffic because the files was different timestamped.
