About Moleskine Notes

Moleskine Notes is designed to be used in conjunction with the Moleskine Pen+.

Moleskine presents a new set of tools to write, draw and work with. A specially designed notebook, smartpen (Pen+) and App that work together to instantly digitize notes and sketches made on paper. Easily create digital text and images and share them right away with your smartphone or tablet.

The Moleskine Notes App is the perfect place to keep, find, edit and share your digitized notes. When you use the Pen+ to write or draw on the Paper Tablet your strokes are simultaneously captured and transferred to the App.

In the App, use tags keep your ideas organized. Edit your notes using colors to highlight key ideas or correct a mistake. Sync you content or ideas to your Google Drive and Evernote clouds to ensure your thoughts and documents are always connected. You can also pair your handwritten notes with real-time audio recording and replay your synced notes and voice recordings straight from the App.

--------- Highlights ---------

The Moleskine Notes App is part of the Moleskine Smart Writing Set. The set has the following capabilities:

Digital Storage: Moleskine Pen+ is a smartpen that writes on paper but also mirrors into smart devices. The pressure recognition of pen tip is very sensitive. So your handwritten notes and sketches have just as much detail as your physical ones!

Transcribe & Search handwritten notes: Your handwritten notes can transcribe into digital text through MyScript’s engine. Once handwritten text is transcribed into digital text, you can export the data, tag content, or search by note pages. Your search results will display notes on the screen.

Easy Share: Your handwritten contents can be shared via the app and SNS, and can be sent email by a single pen-action.

Record & Playback: Playback the pen stroke data or the audio file that is synced with the strokes. A digital version of your stroke data and audio will be stored in the App and will be accessible anywhere you go. While you record your voice during writing, you can replay your written notes and recorded voice simultaneously according to the timeline.

Data reproduction: Your drawing can be exported in a scale-able image format, namely SVG or PNG or JPG, which allows you to reproduce them.

Internal Memory: Moleskine Pen+ can store up to 1,000 pages (5 Notebooks) by itself without being connected to smart devices. Once you connect Moleskine Pen+ to smart device, the app will automatically archive the notes by date, location and page.

Love the idea but agree the privacy is an issue. Exchanging advertising for use....

I have a preference for developing and keeping my recipes in hand written format, this has been fantastic and sync with Google drive is extremely handy. The only issue I have is with adding tags, after each addition of an existing tag to a page it will not auto populate the drop down properly, annoying but not a deal breaker. Notes are clear, translation is not always right but I can accept that with current tech. Only thing I could personally wish for is recognizing measurements like 1/2 cup.

It asks for permissions that seem excessive and gives you the option to decline, but if you choose to decline it won't open the app at all.

The app and the pen do not work. Absolutely useless. Don't waste your money.

Does not work. It misses so many pen strokes it becomes a pain to use. It seems it's more reliable just to take a photo of what your wrote down to have a digital copy. Really really upset. I had high hopes for this. The pen does not work well. Period.

X70%
by X####:

Had some problem at the beginning with pen sensitivity, but after fe hours of usage, was becoming better and better. When unpacked need to really press hard to.make sure the text was captured. Now sensitivity is very high.

It's very worrying that an app to take notes has so many privacy issues, things which seem to be illegal in the EU, things which you have to agree and consent to for the device you purchased to work. It requires access to your location without any obvious purpose or justification. The Terms of use requires you to consent to the data policy, which you cannot easy read when you are asked about it, which is not optional, and without any obvious way to withdraw consent. And you MUST allow your data to be processed for marketing purposes and to be contacted. Don't buy this product.

I did everything I possibly could to get the pen to write, including having an extreme amount of patience! Perhaps it works well for apple products, as far as my android products goes, it does not work.

In the pictures above it shows this app on an iPad and that's great. So it's clear they have a workable tablet layout available. Why not make this app available for tablets on Android as well?

Deleted before first use due to unnecessary request for access to location and files. Get rid of this.

I love the fact that it converts my handwritten notes into text, and can accept that it's not a perfect translation. Add the ability to allow me to batch share. Sending my notes to classmates page by page is just stupid. Also, you've only produced two moleskine notebooks to use with this system--black notebook 1, and black notebook 2. I have four classes I'm taking, and that means four notebooks. Either figure out a way for me to have more than two notebooks out at any given time instead of having to lock or notebin one, or produce more than two nitebooks in a series. I paid close to $300 for this entire system, I should be getting more functionality. Also, what's the point of being able to add virtual notebooks like blossem? Every time I click on them, it tells me there are no pages. Am I missing something? The ability to change the covers to whatever picture is neat (and by the way, add that to the actual notebooks so we can dileniate between them beyond the name) but other than that, the notebooks don't seem to have any functionality? What gives? I was excited for this system, and even pimped it to another grad student who went out and bought one too, but your app needs serious work. One more thing--I would gladly pay for paper that would work with the pen that I could add to a legal size binder for work. Get on that.

App stopped synchronizing after first use. No meaningful troubleshooting or user guides to be found online. Disappointed with the support for such an expensive product.

Amazing. Spent a while playing with various digital inking solution, this is best I've found. Offline mode works well, seems very reliable. Have onenote sync setup and notes appears there, where I can copy to existing notebooks, add screenshots, etc. The pen and notebooks are expensive, but they appear to be actively improving / developing software.

It's a good writers tool. It's preferred to write using the pen ???? and journal ???? on a flat surface, like a desk or table in good lighting. The sensor needs to be able to read what you write. Avoid getting too close to the margins, a dot or two away should be perfect from my experience.

D70%
by D####:

It works excellent. Anyone complaining about it not correctly working obviously did not read the instructions. If the pen is held properly the notes come out fine. Camera has to be down

Cannot get anything to happen even after calling and emailing technical support. Very disappointed in my purchase of such an expensive product that does not work.

I enjoy writing however, one it's on paper it simply stays there or I'm forced to rewrite on my laptop but not anymore! Now, I can take my note with my Moleskine and email to me or simply review it on my phone. This has been a game changer for sure.

Doesn't work on my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge with Android 7.

The set and this app fail. After 20 min I got it to record some of what I was doing but not enough to be legible. Bad attempt, worse execution. The notebook itself has many flaws. I expected more from a company that makes "the notebook" the world uses.

D70%
by D####:

Well not sure if it is the pen itself or the app but it is indeed really bad. Pressure sensitivity and recognition are way way off. I hope there is a fix or it is just right to let everyone know your product is below the lowest standards. Also it would be appropriate for the developers to shed some light on the problems that many seem to be experiencing instead of completely ignoring comments and reviews. Thank you.

All the requirements for tracking and opting in for spam are going to make me return this product. This is a horrible first run experience and invasion of rights. You don't need to require access to my phone notifications or location for this app to work.

D70%
by D####:

App asks for permission to send unwanted promotional material (i.e. SPAM) and if you don't agree you can't even launch the app! As far as I know it's even illegal according to EU privacy law!

D70%

All I see are scribbles. I paid how much for this? If you know it doesnt work why do you sell it for an exorbitant amount of money?

D70%

How do I get a whole book out of it? I can only seem to transfer a page at a time. Where in my phone does it save data?

Q70%

If you want it to recognize writing, you need to write really hard to leave mark. I can't draw with that? Did you guys even tested this product? What is the point of calibration?
