LG Tone & Talk

Last year I took a road trip on my motorcycle and this app was awesome. It would read notifications back flawlessly and play music no problem. It was linked to Google now in which I could text back, call out or ask for navigation or command my phone to do many other things. It no longer works with Google now. If this feature was to be brought back I would give it 5 stars. I used to be able to hit the phone butto. And it would activate Google now but it no longer does.

Update: Found the issue. I'm an idiot. The volume was down. I don't know why the volume was down, but why didn't the volume switch raise that volume? I want to like it. I used to love it. It used to work fine, for my hbs810. For some reason it won't play music through it now, all of a sudden. If I can get some help that would be great. I would be happy to change my rating. Music is my life. I have it connected to an LG v20 with android 7.0

So where did the speech engine setting go? My Google engine was way better. Now I have a lady that can't pronounce the most basic words. I use to be able to select between Samsung speech and Google speech. Now neither. Where did it go? LG HOW ARE YOU GOING SELL HEADSETS WITH APPS THAT DON'T HELP IT DO ITS JOB!!

After the update, it won't read certain app notifications like the clock and my security cameras app. It's really disappointing as those are the apps I want to hear notifications for the most. It also won't read texts from some of my contacts for whatever reason. They all have voice as vibrate notifications check marked. Please fix. The troubleshooting steps LG provided did not address my issue. I'm holding back buying a new LG headset until this problem is fixed.

I want to really like it. It works well for me for what it does. My biggest issue is that after the latest update it's rediculously egocentric; popping up and warning me that every Bluetooth device I connect to (other than my headset) isn't compatible. Believe it or not LG, I do have other BT products I use and I don't care or need you telling me they're not compatible with your app. I already know that...

I loved it when I got my first headset (HBS910)... Now I have a newer model with a note 5. Now when ever my notifications are silenced on the phone itself, they are also silenced and vibration no longer works on the headset... It never did that before. Some of the apps I have selected to have notifications read out for me, don't work. Particularly sideline, which used to work before... Fix it

We bought our headsets for the notifications reading. The hbs810 and HBS820 stopped reading our notifications after the latest update and no one at LG can tell us why. Once this has been fixed will go back to 5 stars Fixed. Back to 5 stars. Love it! I was wrong. Reading email only

I really like that this app will read out my text messages while I'm riding on my motorcycle and listening to music, but every time I get a new update it knocks that feature in the dirt! My Note 5 just got updated to Nougat and I lost the text to speech feature AGAIN...... I've done the uninstall, reboot, reinstall, change settings thing TOO many times already. This is a great app...... just wish it could keep up with the rest of the world.

Such a cool idea for an app, if only it worked. It works fine for my husband's headphones but it doesn't work at all with mine. The app works fine when I first download it but once I turn off my headphones it won't even attempt to work. It's really frustrating, I guess I'm deleting it.

Not working again this is getting old. I loved the old app worked perfect! Have HBS 900 paid a lot of money for it so it would read my messages when at work or driving. Now even following the instructions and updating still doesnt do it! I hope they fix this, its one of the main features! It doesnt vibrate, any more, doesnt read messages and the only message it does read is a random text that has been deleted for atleast 6 months at random times. worked great until the updates now its pretty much useless. I have a LG 4. Please fix this!

Worked flawlessly for one day with my zte max pro and then the next day the app won't open. I restarted the phone and reinstalled the app several times. It's just allows me to give access permission but afterwards it won't load or open it just freezes

Was unable to use with my HBS 900. It says in the description that it's supported, but when I boot up the app it says my headset isn't supported. I even replaced the one I had due to technical issues with it, and the new one has the exact same error.

Since the new app came out. The device no longer reads out loud my text messages. I really wish we could get the old one back. Update: it's not my device. It's your app. There is nothing in the settings to read text messages aloud. Please don't treat me like I'm an idiot. Give me back bt reader Update 2: My bad I'm stupid, lol I didn't know that after you turned on the notification settings toggle, if you clicked it again it actually took you to the settings where then you can "turn on" read messages outloud. Now it's reading even more apps outloud then it could before.

It reads back random old text messages at random times and it's usually the same text message. I have to delete the text message so it would shut up. It's very disruptive and inconvenient because there are some texts I need to save and can't. Otherwise, I do like my LG HBS 1100 headset.

Does not work consistently. Turning off and on works sometimes. Such a hassle but when it works it's nice. But too unreliable. Never works two days in a row. Just reinstalled it and it's not working now despite all settings turned on. Used to read my texts on the huawei Raven LTE, but now with the huawei sensa LTE all I get is vibes and tone. No reading of messaged. Please investigate

This app was great until the last update for android phone. It reads my text messages from every except the people on my family plan at at&t. Please fix in your next update and I wish it's not to much longer on that update. Because it's annoying to have to keep getting the phone out my pocket to read what my husband or children is texting .

I used to love this app. But an update or something messed it up so when using it to call or text it does not tell you who or what you are texting anymore. Or if you make a call hands free it used to tell you who you were calling now it just beeps. If the problem was fixed I would give it 5 stars

I have a new headset, hbs 800 and the app doesn’t have the vibration option like with the hbs 760. Need the vibration option please. Also, it doesn't read out texts from my husband. Reads everyone else but his.

The only complaint I have is that sometimes, more than not, my music won't stop to read a text. I even have the settings on to stop music & read text. I need it like this in my job!!! Please fix this problem ASAP! It's a hassle at work w/out it! Otherwise, LOVE the app.

This used to be a great app. However, ever since the new Android update it no longer works with my lg tones. Every time I install it and try it give me a message saying to turn off accessibility.. I have tried everything and it still doesn't work. What the heck is going on LG!?. I have already tried turning off tone and talk in accessibility. Like I stated before, I have turned everything off and tried turn certain ones on.. Still does not work. You guys need to release a patch with an update to fix this problem, I have read the other comments and a LOT of people are having the same problem. Thanks

My app will no longer connect to my headphones.. it still connects fine on my tablet but for some reason will not connect through Bluetooth at all on my phone. Was working fine before.. now nothing!

This stated off as a great thing but...... :-(. Now I see what everyone else is complaining about. For one it repeats the notifications a million times. Then when I need the notifications it says nothing. Also it was great at picking up dictation now it does nothing most of the time. Also it never understands me. I could see if I were as saying different commands or using different contacts but 90% of what I say is repetitive. Is it the app, my headset or the phone? please please fix this. I got something hands free for a reason. Now I feel like there's no use.

The app works well for me with one annoyance. It keeps repeating messages randomly. Most of them are picture messages or group messages. Please advise how to fix this

After latest update voice notification stoped working. But today I found settings in my message plus app to turn on voice notification and did the same in the lg app. And it works just fine now. Will check email settings as well.

I first gave this app 1 star. Turns out I had a phony LG Headset. I got a new headset, and the app seems to work. I am cautiously giving it 3 stars.

The description of the app says will work on hbs-760 and that's what I have but when open the app it. It says it is not supported

I used to love this app but for the last 2ish months it's sucks. Won't let me use the phone with the headphones and now the skip and play buttons don't work. Getting really sick of this not working

I used to love this app. After the update it quit reading my kik messages. I have uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled and it still doesn't read them even though it is marked to do so. You keep saying if this doesn't work to check the TTS engine in the phone. What do you mean?

Loved this app at first, but now it is pretty much useless. Used to be able to get my msgs read to me & talk on phone through headset and play music in my car via aux cord but now its impossible. Everything has changed on this and i hate it!

Is there any way the devs could add in a balance (left & right) volume control? I've got one ear canal smaller than the other and can't hear as well out of it as the other so this would be amazingly helpful.

Request: Please allow cancelling the reading of a message while it is reading. I like the auto read all feature, however if I'm in a meeting or taking to someone and don't want personal text messages read aloud, then I want a way to stop it using the headset! I have tried all the buttons and currently it doesn't shut up. Only workaround I found is to reduce the volume... But sometimes too slow. Disconnection Problems have been reduced in more recent versions. Still works better if pin in background and if something doesn't work correctly to reopen the program.

When I first got it about a year ago it worked great, phone calls,it read texts to me. It was a good hands free app now it's useless only thing it does now is play music. Terrible update.

Getting better each update. Some of the reviews on here are pretty harsh lol. Just recently reinstalled and everything seems to be working pretty good. I like the ability to set conditional notifications. Keep it up LG!

I have a problem with it reading my messages it works only half the time I have followed the instructions. Sometimes it just gives me the tone and others it will not do anything. Would really appreciate it if you can get back to me and tell me how to fix the app.

I came here to give a bad review. I got a new phone and the voice notifications changed. It was a female voice and she couldn't even say "Snap Chat", it came out as "Snap S**t." So I had every intention of giving a bad review. However, I saw in a reply to another review that this is CONTROLLED BY YOUR PHONE, NOT THE APP. So I give a 4* rating now, and was able to change back to my Google voice instead of Samsungs crappy female voice.

I have an HBS-900 and really wanted this to function well. It will not connect at all! Frustrating!

This was a good app, but it doesn't seem to be working now. I keep getting a message about a screen overlay being detected. There was a solution posted to this issue in another recent review, but it didn't work for me.

The app worked at first and then itwont work its hit or miss, I have the HBS 1100 and when I first downloaded the app it worked good, now it doesn't work, downloaded it on my wife's phone and she owns the HBS 900 and it worked with the first text and then quit. I also thought there was a place on this app to read who is calling you but no bueno.....if you can fix this problem the app would be great.. right now it's terrible...i uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and now it don't work at all

The app stopped working nothing works. I will give it about a week if its not fixed i will uninstall

Before this update 3/9/17 it would read the entire message not matter how long it was now it only reads a few words and stops at least in Skype. Also I want to use with other BT devices so I can use the app with my car's BT like the other versions. New update fixed the voices: British vice is back.
