Spigen Smart View Plus

The slim armour view case is great and looks fab to, but this app is definitely not up to standard. I would not have purchased the case if I knew how bad the app is. I had the Samsung flip case which is on par from a cost perspective and it works well with the functionality of the phone. I suppose we'll have to wait for further fixes before this gets anywhere near 4 stars

Never works right, very rarely does it show the screen correctly when the case is closed and sometimes activates the app when I'm using the phone really annoying. Constantly changes my screen timeout to 5 seconds and half the time doesn't show missed calls or new messages.

Same issues as everyone else, screen goes back to windowed mode at inopportune times when the case is flipped open. Otherwise would be a good idea. I will return my case as without this functionality it is not worth the $50 price tag!

Samsung S5 -Crashes continuously, what a disappointment from this brand. They should only provide products that work! There better be an update coming to fix this, otherwise you don't value your customers or reputation.

I agree the app is a bit buggy, but it does work like it's supposed to. Many people are complaining that the only thing that works is the camera, but the other icons are ONLY notifications. There not suppose to DO anything but notify. App does have a bug with timeout. But other than that has worked exactly like it should.

I really prefer the case to the Samsung one because it has the little magnet to keep it closed. The app is ugly though and basically useless. I'm hoping a third-party app will work for this case.

I'm not sure what my case is doing others isnt, but my phone shuts off when I close the lid, turns on when I open it. Shows me incoming txts, Allows me to access the Camera. No problems here.

Everyone just ignore this app. go to the S View Plus. it works with the case and it actually does what it says. it works for any Samsung s and note flip phone cover. I got it and it works so much better. and it's free

I had the armor case for the S4 and it was BRILLIANT. Unfortunately the S5 version is awful, screen times out and freezes even 8n the supposedly latest version 1.1.7. Sometimes I can't even answer a call until I unlock the phone. Never mind that the Spigen screen comes on randomly making using the phone impossible. Sort it out :-(

Wonderful concept but you should have at least tested and fix all bugs before mass production..I love the case but feel it is way expensive for what it is..To me I feel it should be worth no more than 20 dollars on the high end of phone cases..As far as the app..you need to take the 50 dollar charges you get from your product and go back to the drawing board and put some of that money into your research..kinda disappointed the app. Won't work but the case is functional..

Work for receiving and hanging out phone call, but not work in OS Lolipop. Don't upgrage Galaxy S5 to Lolipop. This program will not work n your Android will slow. I down grade and this program wirk well.

Display not working. .need to open the case for attending calls. .waste of buying this ....topcover hinged are so thin and can break anytime. .. App after installation after a few days is not opening at all...displays unfortunately closed. ..report...

The case is great, a little difficult to open at times. The app does not work, I've installed as directed. The only feature the seems to work is the camera when the case is closed. I can't accept an in coming call or text message.

Can't swipe to answer calls on galaxy s5. Acts like it answers but phone keeps ringing. Can deny call by swiping other direction just won't answer. Everything else seems to be working fine. If could get this fixed would give 5 stars.

Bought the case,didn't know u had to have a app to use it. If I had known that I wouldn't of bought the case.Having the same problem everyone else is having.

It shuts off my alarm after one second, changes my screen timeout to 5 seconds a couple times a day, and if I answer a call with the cover on the ring tone keeps playing... also cannot control music or podcasts

Worst app ever. Had the previous case got my S4 and worked straight out of the box with no app needed!!... This was a huge waste of money. Come on Spegen. .sort this rubbish out!!!!

I wish I knew you had to download this for the dam case. Wouldn't just spent the money on Samsung. Text, calls emails. Don't work. Only thing that works is camera button

I purchased the cover for my mum's S5 as i use it with my Note 3 but it is hopeless. Considering how much the cover cost. Stop advertising the Smart View feature if you cant make it work and refund the people who paid good money for a cover with features that do not work.

Simply put I have to manually start this when I close the case. The primary function of this app is to be able to answer calls through the cases view screen which it fails to do. I have to use the phone settings to make the buttons answer/end calls. Only thing you can do is start the camera. Well at least the case itself is good.

If I could give less than one star I would. So buggy it's a joke. I had the older cover for the s4 worked like a dream unlike this useless thing.

Had the same case on an s4 and loved it (bought 2 !!). For the s5 - rubbish. Alarm doesn't work, Can't answer phone and the windows stuff is very different from the advertising. Not happy. Only reason for 2 stars is the strength of the case. Won't buy another for the s5! Disappointed to say the least.

Works ok except for the fact that it overrides the display timeout and I have to keep resetting it to two minutes. That is really my only complaint but it is a big one since it happens multiple times a day.

Not very well integrated. Didn't allow phone calls to be answered. Can't check notifications. Don't use tge case any more

Put some music control. I hope you fix all the problems. Good work on the case but the app... Why there is no music control? Pls fix the app immedietly so I won't have to return the case. Change the font. Fix the s view. Make this app look its worth it when someone buy the case. You had so many negative comments... oh and make the s view more costumizable.

The Spigen S-View screen wants to open quite often while active in the background. Very touchy. Now I just shut the app off completely without utilizing the case for what it was designed for.

Why bother to offer an app that is in no way productive? Layout of time and date runs off screen. No music control function. No alarm control function. .I like the case. They should have under their product details noted that a secondary app was required. I would have never spent the money for the case after reading the many unhappy reviews.

App software is Buggy garbage. Here is a list of issues. - Keeps changing screen off timer to 5 seconds. When you flip to horizontal view it shuts off to cover closed view. Only camera feature works and call answer. The message and mail icons are dead and useless. I returned the case and bought a good cheapie and the software works the same. I saved 40 bucks.

I just purchased your s view case for my s5 and was amazed that the app to function the view portion of the case barely works as others have said the camera is only thing that works, the data runs off the screen, no music controls sometimes screen is stuck in view mode so have to shut case again and reopen. Good chance ill be returning this case considering it was my first purchase from spigen not a good start.

Automatically change your screen timeout to 5s, unable to use it correctly during the night, background setting not working. Date partially hidden. So many things need to be changed if you expect people to actually use this app...

Even at it's best, the app seems broken. The application change log shows the music player was removed but the image advertising the case online showcases music playback capability, which is the only reason why I got the case. Even the outdated installation guide shows that it can control music playback. Along with that hiccup I can also confirm that this app will change the screen time out settings and that the notifications on smart view do not work. I will be returning the case only because of the app.

The case is awesome, but the app isn't. Most other reviews harsh but accurate.

Software is bad on this S5 cover. Can't read date properly as it runs off the screen. When you have a call and close the cover the S view window goes black. This is my 4th Spigen cover over the years, and it's hard to believe they have such glaring glitches on this one. The S4 cover worked great.

I got everything working after much difficulty. But, the date runs off the edge of the screen. I may have wasted my money on the case

Could do with being able to move the window or time left to right so it's more central. But so far ok also please extend the screen time out 10 seconds is not long enough! !

The app in Galaxy 5: smart view shifted right and date on right side of screen is cutting Using the app I used 3 weeks and it often stacked. I removed it. So good Spigen cover idea so bad app.... Need to improve!

Smart View? This app is not smart at all.

Cons: Most of the icons are non-functional. Most of the time the window doesn't even pop up when cover is closed. Sometimes it will pop up when cover is open. Nothing about this app seems to work at all. SPIGEN!! If you want better reviews, make your product work at least a little!..................... Pros: none so far

Looks nice but it doesn't work as well as the case version for the s 4 the date runs of the screen united you my messages from.
