UBF는 교파를 초월한 복음주의 대학생 선교기관입니다.

UBF는 University Bible Fellowship의 약자로서, 한글 명칭은 대학생 성경읽기 선교회입니다.

그이름에 나타나 있듯이 한국과 전 세계 대학생들에게 성경을 가르치는 것을 목적으로 하고 있습니다.
이를 통해 대학 내의 복음전도와 학문적인 가치를 추구합니다.
즉 신앙의 절대가치인 그리스도와 대학의 가치인 자신들의 전공을 기초로 일생동안 무엇을 할 것인가를 생각하게 하며, 시대적이고 역사적인 사명과 21세기를 향한 분명함 비전을 찾도록 돕습니다. 또한 탁월한 리더십을 가진 이시대의 사명인 곧 예수의 제자들을 키우는 단체입니다.

대학은 미래의 인재산실이요, 국가와 민족의 심장입니다.

그러므로 UBF는 내일의 역사의 주역이 될 오늘의 지성인들에게 기독교 인생관과 가치관, 역사관과 세계관을 확립하게 하며,우리 민족사와 시계사에 귀히 쓰임을 받을 새 역사 창조적 소수를 인격적으로 키우는 대학 내 역동적 운동입니다.

UBF는 국내에서 시작되어 시계적으로 성장한 자생적인 선교 기관입니다.
이운동은 4.19혁명에 이은 5.16군사정변이 일어난 역사적으로 암울했던 1961년 가을에 광주를 기점으로 시작되었습니다. 그후 전주,대전,대구,서울,부산 등 각 지역에서 하나님의 부르심을 받은 소수의 뜻을 가진 대학생들에 의해 성장하였습니다.
'성서한국과 세계선교'를 모토로 현재는 전국의 대부분의 대학에서 약 1만여 명의 대학생과 학사들이 주축을 이루며, 우리가 파송한 1.450명의 훈련된 정예들이 전문인 또는 유학생 선교사들로서 전 세계 약 90개국에서 대학선교 활동을 펼치고 있습니다. 이 가운데는 약 300여명의 박사(Ph.D)학위를 사진 선교사들과 지도교수들도 참여하고 있습니다.
