그런데 하나님께서 이처럼 우리가 언제 어디서나 하늘나라를 누릴 수 있도록 풍성한 은혜를 베푸셨는데도 우리는 여전히 하늘 없는 삶을 살아가고 있습니다. 그 이유가 무엇입니까? 그것은 하나님의 은혜가 부족하기 때문이 아니라 우리가 그 은혜 안에 거하지 못하고 있기 때문입니다. 이렇게 된 것은 무엇보다도 우리가 하나님께서 풍성하신 은혜 가운데 준비해 두신 하늘에 대해 제대로 알지 못하는 ‘영적 무지’에 빠져 있기 때문입니다. 우리가 ‘하늘 가는 길’을 잘 이해하지 못하기 때문에 하나님께서 은혜 가운데 예비하신 하늘나라가 우리에게 멀리 느껴지는 것이지요.
