2016년 새해가 밝았습니다. 「하늘 문이 열리리라!」 우리 모두 가슴에 품고 나아갈 새해 표어입니다. 이 한 해 동안 하늘 문이 열리는 귀한 역사가 나타나길 소원합니다.
그발 강가에서 하나님은 에스겔 앞에 하늘 문을 여셨습니다(겔 1:1). 때는 주전597년, 바벨론에 함락된 유다 왕 여호야긴과 에스겔 등 일만 여명의 유대인들이 바벨론으로 끌려온 지 9년째 되는 넷째 달 초닷새였습니다(겔 1:2). 여기 그발 강은 바벨론의 유프라테스강과 티그리스강을 잇는 대운하 이름입니다. 때문에 에스겔 등 포로들에게 그발 강은 그야말로 한이 서린 곳입니다(시 137편). 그런데 그곳에 있던 에스겔 앞에 하늘 문이 열린 것입니다. 어떻게 이런 신비한 경험을 하게 되었을까요?
하나님은 에스겔을 ‘인자’라는 독특한 호칭으로 부르십니다. 한 번이 아니라 무려 90여 번이나 사용하십니다. 그런데 나중에 예수님께서 스스로 ‘인자’라고 자칭(自稱)하십니다. 인자이신 주님의 목표는 ‘하나님을 영화롭게’였습니다(요17:4). 이런 예수님의 공생애 시작(막 1:9-10), 공생애 중간(마 17:5), 그리고 공생애 마무리(행 1:11) 때에 하늘 문이 열렸습니다. 에스겔이 동일한 호칭 ‘인자’로 불립니다. 이것은 그가 예수님처럼 살았다는 것을 암시합니다. 때문에 하나님은 예수님처럼 그에게도 문을 여셨습니다. 당시 그발 강가에서 열린 하늘 문을 본 사람은 오직 에스겔 뿐이었습니다(겔 1:1, 3, 4)
에스겔은 삶의 현장에서 ‘작은 예수’로 살기 원했습니다. 비록 포로의 몸이요, 고국에서 멀리 떠난 이방인이요, 그 어떤 소망을 가질 수 없는 처절한 나날이었지만 좌절하지 않았습니다. 하나님을 신뢰했습니다. ‘아버지께서 하라고 하신 일(요 17:4)’에 최선을 다했습니다. 하나님의 영광에 초점을 맞추며 살았습니다. 이런 그에게 하늘 문이 열린 것입니다.
그날, 에스겔이 본 것은 무지개의 영광이었습니다(창 9:13). 다시는 저주하지 않겠다는 약속입니다. 한걸음 더 나아가 그는 ‘마른 뼈의 환상’을 경험합니다(겔37:10). 말씀에 순종하여 나아갈 때 ‘죽은 뼈’와 같은 자들이 큰 군대가 되는 기적을 맛보게 될 것이라는 메시지를 눈으로 본 것입니다.
사랑하는 여러분! 지금 혹시 바벨론 그발 강가의 포로 에스겔과 같은 처지에 놓여 있습니까? 포기하지 마십시오, ‘인자’라 불릴 때까지 삶의 현상에서 ‘작은 예수’로 사십시오. 말씀에 순종하십시오. 마침내 하늘 문이 열릴 것입니다. 하늘 문이 열리면 ‘마른 뼈’가 ‘큰 군대’가 되는 기적이 일어납니다. 하늘 문이 열리면 ‘하늘의 보고’가 쏟아질 것입니다(신 28:12). ‘그발 강가의 현실’을 내 힘으로 극복할 수 없습니다. 오직 하늘 문이 열리면 가능합니다. 이 놀라운 영적체험이 2016년, 우리 삶의 현장에서 일어나기를 간절히 염원합니다.
