하나님을 사랑하고 이웃을 사랑하라.

하나님께서 허락하신 큰 소망과 기쁨으로 시작하는 모든 성도에게 하나님의 축복이 함께 하시기를 축원합니다.
어느 해이건 다사다난하지 않았던 해는 없었던듯합니다.
문제는 그 와중에도 하나님의 손길을 깨닫고 알며 살아가는 것이 성도들의 힘이지요.
주님은 이 땅에 오셔서 하나님의 나라를 선포하시고 복음을 전하셨습니다.
제일 환영하고 함께해야 할 유대인들은 오히려 예수를 핍박하고 복음을 거절합니다.
가끔씩 예수님을 믿고 있다고 그것도 열심히 믿고 있다고 하며 이렇지는 않은지 돌아봅니다.
그런 자들 중에 한 사람인 율법사가 예수님을 시험하려고 어느 계명이 큰지를 묻습니다.
이 때 주님께서 하신 말씀이“하나님을 사랑하고 이웃을 사랑하라”(마22:38,39)고 말씀합니다. 이 말씀은 신명기의“쉐마”를 토대로 답변을 하신 것입니다.
이스라엘의 아이들은 이 말씀을 외우는 것으로 교육을 시작할 정도로 중요하게 여깁니다.
우리 교회도 이 표어를 통해 하나님을 향한 사랑과 이웃을 향한 사랑이 회복되는 한 해가 되었으면 해서 이 말씀을 택했습니다. 마지막 때의 특징인 사랑이 식어지면

안 되니까요.
저는 이 말씀을 두 가지 면에서 적용하려고 합니다.

첫째. 예배하는 삶입니다.
하나님은 유월절을 통해 그의 백성을 구원하셔서 홍해와 광야를 건너게 하시고 거룩한 하나님의 성산에 이르게 합니다. 거기서 하나님의 백성으로 살아갈 원칙과

성막을 주십니다.
이제 약속의 말씀을 가진 예배자로 하나님과 동행하는 백성이 된 것입니다.

둘째. 섬기는 자의 삶입니다.
세상은 지배하는 자, 군림하는 자를 승리자이고 제일이라며 추켜세웁니다.
이런 풍조가 교회에도 침투하여 주님께서 보이셨던 모습과는 다르게 변해버리고 말았습니다.
성경에서는 어느 한 곳도 이런 모습을 옳다고 하거나 본받으라고 하지 않습니다.
잘못된 확신으로 산 자 중에 하나가 바울입니다. 자기의 의로 살 때에는 지성의 대표였고 율법에는 자신이 있는 자였으며 누구보다 하나님을 사랑한다고 한 자였습니다

그러나 예수 그리스도를 만난 후에 완전히 변하여 자신의 지식이 얼마나 왜곡되었는지 그리고 그 잘못된 사랑이 어마나 다른 이를 고통으로 몰아넣었는지를 알게 되었

습니다.
그 후에는 철저하게 복음에 헌신하고 봉사하며 죽음에 내몰려도 감사하는 자로 변했습니다.
이것이 진정으로 섬기는 자의 삶입니다.(예. 행5:40,41)
나의 잘못된 신앙과 확신으로 하나님을 아프게 하거나 이웃에게 상처를 내지는 않았나요?
우리는 섬김을 통해 하나님의 인격을 닮아가는 훈련을 합니다. 때로는 지쳐 넘어지고 쓰러지고 낙심할 때도 있을 것입니다. 그러나 그것이 주님이 가신 길이고 우리가

가야할 길입니다.
