할렐루야!
뒤돌아보면 60년 전, 황무지 같은 이곳에 하나님의 뜻을 이루시기 위하여
성전의 터와 예배당 건물을 주셨습니다. 그로부터 50년 뒤에 교회창립 기념으로
불교의 나라 미얀마 양곤에 미얀마 신성교회와 신학교, 고아원을 세우게 하시고,
지난 10년 동안 일만 평의 농지와 함께 미얀마 전역에 개척교회를 세우게 하셨습니다.
작년에는 카야 지역에 어린이집도 개원하였고, 올해는 대구삼일교회와 협력하여
미얀마 신성센터에 다목적 용도의 채플실도 건축하였습니다.
받기만 하던 우리교회가 미자립 교회와 국내외 선교기관, 학원과 언론,
사회복지기관들을 도울 수 있는 교회로 우뚝 서게 된 것은 주 예수님의 십자가의 은혜로
구원받은 은혜에 보답하는 충성스러운 성도 한분 한분이 있기에 가능하였음에
뜨거운 가슴으로 감사드립니다.

특별히 작년에는 창립 60주년 기념행사와 함께 김용호 목사님의 원로목사 추대식,
부족한 저의 위임예식이 있었습니다. 지난 11년 동안 미국과 영국, 세계 유수의 대학에서
석사, 박사를 공부할 수 있도록 기도해 주시고 도와주셨을 뿐 아니라 또 다시 위임목사로
불러주신 당회원 이하 모든 성도님들께 감사드립니다.

보답하는 마음으로 새해는 “주님, 우리로 화해하게 하소서”(고후5:18-21,창33:1-4)
라는 총회 주제와 함께 “60년을 넘어 다시 개척교회로”라는 교회 표어에 맞추어
개척당시의 초심으로 돌아가는 사역을 하고자 합니다.
이를 위해, 저는 김용호 원로목사님의 40년 목회철학을 이어받아
선한목자처럼 교회를 섬기겠습니다. 성도 여러분은 처음 교회를 개척하시던
믿음의 선배들을 본받아 더욱 헌신해 주십시오.
하나님께서 찾으시는 그 한 사람이 우리가 되기를 기도하며 주께서 주신
선교적 교회의 비전을 다 함께 성취할 수 있기를 주님의 이름으로 축원합니다.
