Kimble Time & Expense

Doesn't look or feel like how an Android app should be and in out of respect to my phone.

Wasted 30 mins trying to get this thing to work. It goes into a loop when syncing with the server. Keeps asking for credentials.

Sync does nothing

Have had to uninstall and reinstall every start of the month as it won't let me progress the dates. Quite annoying as that also deletes favourite locations.

This feels looks and feels like the crappy Web Apps from the early days of mobile Internet. I gave it a few minutes before uninstalling the app...that's all the time you'll need to know it won't be worth your time. I'd rather boot up my laptop to submit time and expenses.

My previous review focused on two frustrations: first, lots of bugs (random crashes, crashes when using map to create a journey, expense fields resetting after taking a photo, etc); second, a lack of functionality, e.g. not being able to review submitted expense claims and view their status. The developer replied and said these issues were fixed in the new version. I have just submitted an expense claim and the good news is that the issues occurred less frequently. The bad news is that *all* the issues mentioned above still occurred. This app should make submitting time & expenses easier but instead it makes it more painful than necessary. UPDATE: Upgraded to 1.1.8 and app hangs when saving an expense if the photo was taken via the app; problem doesn't occur if you choose a previously taken photo.

Sync with server to get project codes, try to submit expense claim, and turns out the category drop down does not have any of the company's custom categories, just salesforce defaults. So, useless then. Uninstalled and continue to look forward to a time when my company stops using the clunky and annoying Kimble.

Having the app ready to register a claim when on a train or at departure gate means often I can get details and receipts onto the system before I have completed the journey! Previouly I left receipts around home and office and lost the opportunity to rebill. Similarly, ability to book time when travelling makes it easier to rebill those odd half hour calls in the margins of the day.

This sucks as I use kimble at work and thought the app would help. But the bad design means I can't see what I have previously submitted or what the current status is of items added on the desktop version. What a shame guess I'll just stick to the desktop or find something else

Which makes it pretty much useless. I cannot see entries undated previously on the desktop. Cannot retrieve forecasted items. at least it should look like the desktop browser version. It's like a completely different company built it with no idea how the browser version works.

Literally the worst app I have ever used. It doesn't work on my Note3 and after speaking with support over multiple emails we're no further forward.

Poor UI makes entering data very laborious. There's no way of knowing what will be submitted, so you have to review them on the website (which only works on desktops and is also very laborious). The maps feature just doesn't work. Finally, and most daming, it randomly loses all your submissions (twice when I've received a call/text while entering data, the other time was completely random). All 3 happened on Fridays meaning had to spend hours entering the whole week again.

The design of the app, ie the task workflow and the need to perform the same repetitive actions for everything you enter really make using it frustrating.

The app simply crash when I try to take a photo for expense, unusable... Not telling how slow it is or how old the interface looks like, but that's another issue

Can't enter decimal numbers for expenses on a Samsung Galaxy S4.

The app won't let you submit more than 4-5 receipts at a time. No crash, no error, it just doesn't do anything. That means you end up with 5-6 different claims a month instead of one. Interestingly, iPhone users have the same issue. Oh and dev team, don't ask for logs for issues that everyone is experiencing. Just use the app yourselves and you'll see how bad it is.

This app is a shame. Sync feature keeps failing. And even if it does -expense items doesn't appear in the browser version for corrections. We can't attach PDF files - tried to check online user community forums. Not much help there either.
