About CPU Usage & Process Viewer

*** If you try my tool, and you notice that my tool doesn't run on your system, could you please just uninstall or send me anything your comment via e-mail? I want to improve my tool with your cooperative comment. Thank you for your understanding in advance. ***

Because of changing API, running processes function returns only own process info on Android version 5.1 or upper version. So I added new function for getting running processes with ps command. For 5.0 or less, the functionality is same as previous versions.

Introduction
System CPU Usage Viewer shows CPU usage percentage(total, each core, upto quad cores), system physical memory information, and processes' information of CPU usage/memory usage.

The tool shows the information as below;
- System physical free memory/ total physical memory on the system(refresh each a second, the right corner of application title)

- CPU usage percentage(Total, each core, dual or quad. Refresh per 5 seconds)

- Process information list(refresh per 5 seconds)
View entries: Process label, Process ID, memory usage, CPU usage percentage and the average of CPU percentage
Process records are sorted by the average of CPU percentage with descending order.
The commands on the context menu;
> Kill process
Try to kill the specified process.

> Launch process
Launch the related main activity. Each process is not always launched its activity.

About killing process
This tool tries to kill your specified process.
Almost processes like system tools or Widget are not killed or re-activate after being killed soon.

If you try to kill process, what is happened...?
- You see that the process is disappeared from the list next updating. You may see the related task on the task manager.
- Process is not killed and the list leaves the process.
- Process is killed, but you will see the process in the list again with another process ID.
- Process is killed, but if you try to run it again, you may see the activity still has the information before being killed.

About launching process
The tool try to get the package name from process, and launch the main activity related with the specified process. If the tool fails to launch the activity, you will know it with the toast message, and no activity is invoked.

How to use this tool(recommend)
Many processes are running in Android OS. Each application can be switched to another application, and its background application still keeps running. But at the lack of memory situation, Android kills processes automatically for the main activity.
The tool makes you to check the system usage of memory, how many processes are running and how amount of memory is consumed by processes. You can check your Android system, and you can notice that there are some applications are not used by you, I recommend you should uninstall these applications. The instant way of killing processes may resolve your device situation in a short time, but I do not recommend the way.

Conclusion
I want to make the tool that can be logged with the system information for a long period, for creating the report of system running status. If you have something about using this tool, your great idea, or others, feel free to tell me your opinions!
Thanks a lot!

The app is eating up my internal space by creating documents that are about 10 to 14 mb in size that have about 30 to 70 in number. It is quite alarming of how much internal space this thing is constantly gobbling up. Hopefully this issue gets resolved but for now I must delete it. It is unacceptable and unwise to have this app in its current state.

In Portrait Mode the Listing Area is too skinny to display Processes with long names, so switch to Landscape (and restart the APP) and the CPU Display Area takes up half the Screen (with the Processes on the other half); so AGAIN the Screen area for the Processes it too skinny - gotta wonder why the CPU Display Area could not have taken a small area at the top (that remains visible when scrolling) and the Process Display Area could not have been the FULL width of the Landscape Mode (why else would I change)

Works fine on Nextbit Robin with Android 6 and no root. Very useful to find which app drains the battery.

Have been using this on two devices, I love that you can kill apps that have no reason to be open, or that you can kill system apps to force-reload them (great when theres a bug). Good for hunting down ram/battery draining apps. ---- There is only one thing this app needs, a shut down switch... I have to force close it everytime from the processes app.

Very good app, running smoothly on my phone.I don't know exactly which method you are using for cleaning up the memory but it does its job very effectively, almost instantly reducing CPU usage and allowing apps to run much faster than before.I'm recommending everybody to try this app.Keep up with the good work.

Although the name "Process Viewer" is strictly speaking an accurate one, the output is quite misleading for anyone trying to gauge the load on their phone -- as tasks and services are not included.

But actually it doesn't.. When you kill a process it goes away from list as if it has been terminated, but if you check "settings > apps", you see it still runs in background. So it is useless.. It looks like it works but it doesn't. Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, Android 5.1.1

This app is great! Helped me see what apps were running in the bkgnd n slowing down my fone n eating up my battery. I had no idea so many of my apps even ran in the bkgnd. Those are now uninstalled and my battery lasts a lot longer. This is a must have app!!!

Two issues so far: 1) portrait to landscape display is not automatic, 2) there is an annoying conflict with the app "Show battery percentage".

This excellent app has been in my essential "Utils" folder for a couple of years! It has pretty much everything you'd want - showing process CPU or memory usage. After a very helpful dialog with the author, it turns out that on new Samsung devices you have to long-press the task switch button to get to the options. There is no on-screen button for this (yet).

Logging is good feature, but items logged are not understood. First row in the log file should be column names like memory, CPU%, PID etc.

Latest S6 edge removed the hardware menu button and your floating overflow menu button doesn't do anything. How do i get to settings?

Liked it. Would be nice if didn't have to turn on an option and restart the app to have it display landscape. Not too sure how useful memory cleaner is, but otherwise seems to do what it advertises. (Also, would be nicer without advertisements ;)) - Rooted S4 w/ CM11 4.4.4

This app is great! Helped me see what app were running in the bkgnd n slowing down my fone n eating up my battery. I had no idea so many of my apps even ran in the bkgnd. Those are now uninstalled! You lose a star because by default it puts cpu load in my notif list (cool feature btw) and eats up battery which is the opposite of what I installed it for - then there is no app menu button to easily unconfigure this on my android. This app keeps running in bkgrnd. :( Fix this and u get 5 stars and a donation!
