Beware! App stops working completely if you don't upgrade! I don't automatically update apps willy-nilly all the time - for various reasons of my own. But it is appalling to be _forced_ to do so in this way as the apps STOPS working until you do! The motivation, good or bad, doesn't matter! Uninstalling again after posting this, and that will be that. I say NO to business practices of this kind!

by O####:

I don't like responding herebut can't find any way to contact developers. I am uninstalling Jota+ Pro. If I export a text file from another app or if I create a blank text file and open it in Jota+, you cannot add text and save it to the same file. You must do a save as and create a new file. Now you have to find the files, delete the original and rename the new file to get things back to the way it should be. Far too much trouble. I suppose Jota+ cannot save to a file it didn't create, but whatever is causing it I don't want the hassle. Please fix

M70%
by M####:

I haven't explored all the capabilities yet but i appreciate the many options and the fact that text pasted into here becomes PLAIN TEXT. Also pleased with Dropbox support with addon

K70%
by K####:

Great app. Only reason for four stars is that I cannot open more than two files at a time.

D70%
by D####:

Awesome app. Easy to use. Some Interesting features added in this version. It's more than a text editor.

P70%
by P####:

And this despite reloading, exiting & restarting etc. Have moved to QuickEdit Pro. Sigh.

D70%
by D####:

Jota is my go to text editor of many years. Say no more...

D70%
by D####:

The best text editor out there for the mobile.

D70%
by D####:

I've used it many years. Best one

D70%
by D####:

Works OK, no problems.

P70%
by P####:

Many great features that, combined, make this a fkexible, powerful tool. About every day, I'll use: editable button bar with granular commands, macro phrases, file history, and tabs.

S70%
by S####:

I reported a bug in 11-2016, never got a response, hasn't been fixed. So don't expect responses to bug reports. Good overall. I really appreciate the configurable time-stamping function.

Z70%
by Z####:

Best free text editor. Of the two types of text editors made by Jota, this is the better one. It supports multiple document editing, and full clipboard menu.

T70%
by T####:

Needs a "favorite files" list. History doesn't work that well. Similar to history but "add current" file to a favorites list for quick access.

N70%
by N####:

Works? I don't like it's layout as it messes up my paragraph spacing. Rats, as this one has a nice paste option.

D70%
by D####:

I just say its really Excellent app. Superb!★★★★★ grt job team.

U70%

Best android text editor I know!

N70%
by N####:

Not any better than the free version.

Right now, this is the only editor worth considering. BTW, search and other UI items *can* be resized (for those complaining about their size). For those complaining about colors hard to see, they are completely customizable (look in .jota/keyword). Next, if you want to keep your selection highlighted while scrolling, don't "fling" the screen, keep your finger down while you scroll (yes, you can lift it and continue scrolling using the same technique without unselecting your selected text). Lastly, if you cannot save to your external SD card (and are not running KitKat 4.4), turn on "Use Storage Access Framework." Some of this has taken me awhile to figure out, but I've been using Jota+ for years, mostly because it is the best text editor available for Android and, the developer has already considered most of the abilities people are asking for, you just need to figure it out. Unfortunately, as with most Android apps, there is a sad lack of documentation.

I have tried several editors and came back to Jota+. It is simple to use and can handle any size/type of file you need to work with. I use it transfer text files back and forth with my PC. Developer is very responsive to any questions and issues. It is worth the price for the pro version. Update. Still, in my opinion the best text editor out there.

S70%
by S####:

Definitely the best text editor for Android. The developer is responsive and courteous. The features are amazing if you put the time in to understand them. I love configuring the toolbar to have the specific functions I use frequently (like select block and jump to end of file).

Y70%
by Y####:

Overall works really great. Except for one thing… it won't let me save to my external MicroSDcard. I can save to internal just fine. Is there some way to enable the write access to the ExtSDcard?

P70%
by P####:

0 stars to be precise. It destroyed my precious creation when I tried to save the text file. It took a long time to save and finally when it was over I saw that my text was gone. The file size shrinked to 0 bytes. Don't trust this Japanese dev's crapware.

D70%
by D####:

Took me over an hour to configure it to edit Google Drive text file. Keep complaining about overwriting screen app and don't let me open any file. I thought I wasted money buying the unlock capability

S70%
by S####:

Just found out that the app developer(s) include a FORCED UPDATE mechanism, which renders the app unsuable after a certain time. You then HAVE to update/upgrade. CRAP MOTHERF@#! I will never, ever tolerate an app which forces me to install an update - developers always think of themselves as invincible, but in reality at least one third of updates/upgrades screw things up, rather than improving them. An app like that is a timebomb waiting to explode into your face. IMMEDIATE UNINSTALL!

D70%
by D####:

Great universal text editor, working great with cloud (edits dropdown files on the fly for ex), easy to configure and use. There are some limitations, for example it does not render markdown preview, as some other do. All in all, my favourite working horse, very flexible and useful editor for Android.

U70%
by U####:

Very fine all-round editor. Wishlist: 1) Jota's ability to launch an Internet application by pressing an URL is wonderful, but I wish it would also recognize the file:/// URL type. 2) Italics and Bold text.

D70%
by D####:

It's very ugly ways to push us to buy the pro version, by linking the save function with the play store. The Ads isn't enough?

D70%
by D####:

Greate but can you make it work for Amazon drive?Im switching from google drive to Amazon Drive do to the fact that amazon drive has unlimited storage for paid customers.I would definitely give a better score if it had a Amazon drive opinion.

D70%
by D####:

With the previous version of Jota I had to use CopiPe but unfortunately CopiPe is no longer being maintained. With Jota + the functionality of CopiPe is built in which is wonderful.

D70%

Looks okay but the inability to maintain a section of selected text while scrolling is a deal-breaker.
