About OLYMPUS Image Share

Paired with a compatible Olympus camera, the OLYMPUS Image Share smartphone app makes shooting more enjoyable than ever. With this app, images captured with an Olympus camera can easily be imported to a smartphone, and shared with family and friends. With OLYMPUS Image Share you can actually add Art Filters, one of the most popular features on Olympus cameras, to imported photos, use your smartphone as a remote control to a compatible Olympus camera, and also add GPS tags to photos.

1. Import pictures from your camera
Photos on the camera can be imported via Wi-Fi. Simply touch the share icon on the camera monitor for photos you wish to add to your import list to make the importation smooth and easy. Once imported, you can easily select and share photos with friends on social networking sites.

2. Smartphone remote shooting
(1) "Live View" mode
OLYMPUS Image Share allows you to see the camera's Live View on your smartphone screen. It also lets you operate the camera from your smartphone -- touch your smartphone screen to specify the AF point or release the shutter. You can also adjust camera settings such as shooting mode (iAUTO, P, A, S, M or ART) and drive mode (Single, Burst and Self timer), as well as control the zoom for electronic zoom lenses.
(2) "Remote Shutter" mode
In addition, you can choose to control camera settings directly on the camera, and use the smartphone just for releasing the shutter, as if using remote cables. You can "half-press" on your smartphone screen to only focus, and "full-press" to relesae the shutter.

3. Enhance your photos
OLYMPUS Image Share is equipped with Art Filter, one of the most popular features on Olympus cameras. Add filters like Dramatic Tone and Pop Art to turn your photos into works of art. You can also add stamps to images taken using Photo Story, to make your works even more attractive.

4. Add GPS tags to photos on the camera
By simply transferring the GPS log recorded with a smartphone, GPS tags can be added to photos captured with a compatible camera.
* Be aware that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

5. Easy setup
All you need to do is scan the QR code displayed on the screen of a compatible camera with OI.Share to easily set up Wi-Fi connection settings.
* When using a FlashAir card, use the FlashAir card connection information to connect from the smartphone's Wi-Fi setting screen.

* Available functions will differ depending on the camera.
* Wi-Fi is a registered trademark of the Wi-Fi Alliance.
* FlashAirâ„¢ is a trademark of Toshiba Corporation.

When I first got my OM-D EM10 MK II it connected flawlessly to this app and I could import the photos I wanted to my Galaxy S6 Edge+. Now all of a sudden when I try to import them the app lags and says something along the lines of "Failure to Connect to Camera" or "Failure to Import." I've been trying for the past two hours to get these photos. Restart both camera and phone several times. Even redownloaded this app. Extremely frustrated.

Wanna save just today's 200 photo and not the entire memory card to your phone? Start tapping each and every one manually! Wanna minimise them instead of staring at a slow loading bar? No can do! At its core this app does what it says and does it fine enough but execution could use some work.

Hope someone is listening at Olympus. I have stopped using this except for single photos. There is a great potential workflow importing photos to a phone or tablet then the Lightroom CC mobile, but no RAW support, and renaming file names are complete show stoppers. Do yourself a favor and use a USB cable.

Super slow pictures and videos transfer make this totally useless, it took about 2.5hr to copy 220 pics and 10 videos , all together about 1.2G of data and at the end the camera battery run out - seriously? App is good idea but needs improvement s

Was unable to load all photo with the wifi connection to my samsung note5. Previous was able to connect but once awhile it get crush up. Now totally unable to load photo. Please solve this i need my photo.

Don't know what people are moaning about. OK, there's stuff you'd like to do but you can't (like delete photos on the camera), but there are loads of things you can do. Tip: don't let the app try to connect to the camera, do it yourself via your WiFi menu. I find the app really useful for remote control & sharing photos.

Seriously what is going on with this app? I hadn't used it for awhile and thought it might be my phone or a not updated camera but looking at the reviews, a lot of people are having the same issue. C'mon Olympus, fix the problem. This used to work flawlessly. Fix it and I'll update this review to the 5 star app it used to be.

Z70%
by Z####:

Last update broke the app for Android 7, please fix! Unstable connection, no raw import, photos get renamed on import so that backup is not possible and it stops working when sent to background. On top of that I had to set up a firewall to stop the app spamming me. Come on, Olympus, you're making quite good cameras but this app is a disgrace and an insult to your customers.

Z70%
by Z####:

Worst camera/photo app ever used. Used with 3 diff Olympus cameras and never worked reliably. Junk. You'd think a big cimpany like Olympus ckd do better.

J70%
by J####:

I hoped it would work. I can control the camera with it. But I can't see any photos I have taken. It just connects and says "no photos" which I know isn't true...

This app worked fine for me until the update on 8/31. Now I cannot connect my em10mkii to my android7 phone. Attempting to go into wifi settings in the app crashes the app consistently. Wifi connectivity was a big selling point for this camera and until this is fixed, the camera is useless when I'm not near my laptop. Really sucks, since I'm away in Maine and would love to share my photos. Great camera, garbage app. Get it together Olympus. Update 10/15/17 - now the app just doesn't even start. 30% of the time it gets to the dashboard screen, but is not responsive. No buttons work, it just sits there like it's crashed. This is so disappointing, as the main reason I spent my money on Olympus WAS FOR THIS FUNCTIONALITY. get it together guys...this sucks.

One of the main reasons I bought this camera is to import photos to my phone via wifi, but this does not work. Only a few photos show up when importing and even then I can't select them to download to my phone. Please fix this!!

As of recent after I have changed my phone to HTC u11 running Android 7 the ioshare has an unstable wifi connection. My work flow has been disrupted and I now have to carry 2 phones one running older version of Android and the new one.

Z70%
by Z####:

Just simply doesn't work. Can't connect to my camera. Wi-fi was a big reason I bought the camera and it's unusable.

L70%
by L####:

The app works great to download photos off of my camera on the fly. The huge negative downside is the app has popup add notifications occasionally, and there aren't settings to turn them off.

Y70%
by Y####:

Spam Central. Olympus constantly uses this app to push ads for new products through notifications. Shifty... The app itself is slower than molasses. Just to grab one picture and post it to Twitter or Google Photos takes like 5 mins, IF it even works the first time. Ugh

Z70%
by Z####:

Just doesn't really work. Tedious to connect, have to manually change WiFi connection to camera from regular network, app could trigger this automatically like Sony Play Memories. Crashes tg-tracker WiFi necessitating battery removal. Not much better with TG-5, can't download RAW. Won't download 4k videos. No multi-select for photo download. No way of changing download folder to sd card rather than internal memory. Come on Olympus. Read these feedbacks and get things sorted.

Z70%
by Z####:

App was amazing when I purchases my em10 but now lags and disconnect every time I try to use it. If fixed would be back to a fantastic app (remote feature also affected which I had loved)

Z70%
by Z####:

It worked acceptable until I've got Galaxy S8+. Now I have problem connecting to Wi-Fi. Difficult to zoom. Very disappointed that Olympus didn't create better app.

Z70%
by Z####:

Love it, and it's so easy to use. I love that my camera has WiFi so I can download images straight to my phone or tablet and get them off the memory card, it makes me feel safe and happier knowing that if something were to happen then my images are still safe on another device. I have had any issue occasionally where it won't show all my images but it's stopped that now.

Z70%
by Z####:

I see that Olympus are trying to improve its reliability, but it just hangs when used from my Samsung S7 with Android 7, and EM-10 ii.

What's happened?? It used to be a great app, suddenly I just can't connect, can't even see the connect button anymore. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling....to no avail?!?

Z70%
by Z####:

The app is not perfect but quite good, and it works fine with my OM-D E-M1.ii on Samsung Galaxy S8+. I just bought a Pen-F back-up camera, and the app doesn't work with the Pen -- really frustrating. Especially so since the Pen-F works with the unofficial app for Win 10 Mobile and the app for iPhone.

App locks up and will not let me upload photos

Z70%

When transferring photos it can't switch to other apps otherwise the transfer will abort, and the app doesn't cach photos, it will have to reload all the photos again which take substantial amount of time
