About Shortcut To URL

★This app doesn't work on Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later.
★Please confirm the version of Android OS on your device before installing.

This app supports to create a shortcut to the URL.
It can create a shortcut without using a bookmark from default browser.
Also this app can receive a text that includes URLs.

How to use:
1. Opens the website which wants to create shortcut by a default browser.
2. Opens this app from Menu→More→Share page→Share via→"Shortcut To URL". URL will be filled automatically.
3. Shortcut will be created on the home by inputting "Name" and pressing "OK" button.

Specifications and Limitations:
* Any protocol will be accepted.
* Creation of shortcut may fail when center of the home screen doesn't have any space.
* "Name" is not filled automatically because a browser will pass to this app only the URL.
Also I don't want to add internet access permission to this app.

dolphin browser is almost perfect but it doesnt handle well shortcuts. the solution - use this utility inside dolphin.

Y70%
by Y####:

Interface is ancient but it does what it says on the tin.

Y70%
by Y####:

Does exactly what it says. Simple and effective.

B70%
by B####:

So simple and handy

L70%
by L####:

This would be worth 5 stars+ if we could pick the icon, any image of our choice on our phone, + not be forced to use icons from only the apps installed, I agree (no internet access required for that). Giving it a 4 for "Liked It" instead of a 3 for "It's OK", which is its classification as it actually stands now with this severe limitation. Be glad to give it 5 stars if and when that functionality is provided.

Y70%
by Y####:

I agree with other comments, why not just give heap of buttons like another app has, works well, I would pay for this addition.

Y70%
by Y####:

It would be nice if the default icon were retrieved from the favicon of the site pointed by the URL, as it happens with the shortcuts created through most browsers.

D70%
by D####:

Years old, light and very useful. Especially in the face that Google and Chrome keep breaking the generic bookmarks widget. That policy makes this old tidbit highly valuable. Hence the five stars despite the weak UI.

Z70%
by Z####:

This would be worth 5 stars+ if we could pick the icon and not be forced to use icons from just what we have installed, I agree. Giving it a 4 for "Liked It" instead of a 3 for "It's OK", which is its classification as it actually stands now with this severe limitation. Be glad to give it 5 stars if and when that functionality is provided.

Z70%
by Z####:

It would be a huge convenience to use a url to an image to grab that image as icon of that shortcut. That way website's or web app's own logo/icon may be used.

R70%
by R####:

In Marshmallow, you can no longer create a shortcut to a bookmark in Chrome. This app overcomes that issue. Would give 5 Stars if the icon was able to be changed on the shortcut

Z70%
by Z####:

You can change the icon to a custom one but after you create it first (depending on your launcher) long press the icon and select the image to add a new icon. I did this for Facebook.

C70%
by C####:

Will not add icon to home screen on zenith phone 2

Z70%

Working like charm! For example: i found good playlist on YouTube and just hit Share and choose this app. I have a shortcut.

Z70%

No fluff or frills. Just a straightforward app that does what the developers claim. Very easy to use!

Q70%
by Q####:

you have the option to use your icon and app

Z70%
by Z####:

takes less memory, does not run all the time

Z70%
by Z####:

simple, no unnecessary access required.

Z70%
by Z####:

I like it.

N70%
by N####:

Did exactly what I want

Z70%
by Z####:

Simple. Does the job.

Z70%
by Z####:

LIKES: Creates real shortcuts that are not deleted and work after app is uninstalled. DISLIKES: Only icons from other installed apps can be used for image. Would be better if image icon could be set from local storage and web URL, and default to the URL's favicon. Also dislike that the app cannot be moved to the SD card.

X70%
by X####:

Excellent, but this will perfect if we can choose the icon from the gallery or search from the web.

H70%
by H####:

I don't have enough memory for the update for Google chrome to make shortcuts, so I was looking everywhere. I finally found a worthy app. XD

X70%
by X####:

Interface is ancient but it does what it says on the tin.

X70%
by X####:

Minimal permissions, gets the job done without fuss, even letting me use icons from existing apps. Perfect!

G70%
by G####:

Works, does not require permissions

S70%
by S####:

Simple and straight forward, works great. Yes, ability to create your own icon would make developer a rock star. Still 5 stars for going extra mile in not requiring permissions.

X70%
by X####:

Okey

R70%
by R####:

Mu only critical point would be the icon that you can use. The app will only use icons from a presently installed applucation. The work-round is to install an app that you have no intention if using, but has an appropriate icon, purloin the icon and then uninstall it!

Z70%
by Z####:

Very good app. But limited icon choice.

B70%
by B####:

Thank you for creating EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! :-)

R70%
by R####:

Another Excellent App!

S70%
by S####:

Works as described, and no unnecessary permissions. Can't understand why icon selection is from downloaded app icons?? Would be great if icon could be selected from gallery - I want to use an icon that refers to the web page. UPDATE: Discovered 'Pinternet', similar app, but which adds website's favicon as shortcut icon.

D70%
by D####:

But I would like to select an icon for the shortcut from a different saved folder, can you provide this feature?

C70%
by C####:

Helped create shortcuts from Maxthon (edit: and Sleipnir).

Q70%

Goood

Y70%

Small, no permissions needed. Just what I was looking for.
