This app helps in identifying and locating the tower being used. I used it to report a problem tower and also an illegal femtocell that was causing interference.

Finally, one of these that really seems to work. I've been trying to find one of these tools to help us determine Verizon tower location relative to a remote, off-the-grid cabin where we are trying to improve service by using a directional Yagi antenna. The other tools such as OpenSignal, CellMapper, NetworkSignalFinder have been no help at all. What is particularly helpful in this tool is the ability to log tower connections over time so you can eliminate strays in favor of the towers your phone is most frequently connected to. After logging for a couple hours, you can email out a .csv or a .kml file that you can analyze and even plot up in Google Earth. From the 10 towers my phone connected to over a 90 minute interval, this enabled me to determine that 85% of the time I was using 3 towers that were much further away than I was thinking. And I can even verify the locations by spotting the towers in Google Earth. The UI is crude certainly, but it really is the only tool I've found that really works given our remote location.

But mapping base station stopped working after the last Google maps update (lat/long.search string maybe too long.)

Not At ALL working on Desire HD. Before the update app was only crashing. After the update it doesn't crash but phone camped on 3G, its still says GSM

Please add PN and channel information. Also the map does not update when handing off between sites.

Any chance of this app being ported to GSM version? Also viewing the neighbour cell id with their corresponding RSSI levels would be incredible

Y70%

Location map out of wack. Rssi reads reasonably accurate. Overall a good average app.

Location portion doesn't work on Droid Pro

Force closes on Android 2.2 with HTC Desire HD. Would love to use it, but not working for me.

Y70%

Excellent! Helps me searching the best position to place my phone! (When tethering)

Y70%

All indicated parameters function except longitude & latitude. Decent "cdma field test" on Eris with 2.1

I love this app. The base station mapping feature works great. I would happily give it 5 stars if it showed you the active PN A's well as the neighbor PNs in soft-handoff.

Y70%

Of course, doesn't work for Verizons CDMA network, but it does not say that in the description... gullible me, got excited, and thought maybe it would work just for me. Lmao. Oh, and the UI is horrendous, but I kinda liked it. Lmao.

PN, or active set and also neighbour set is ones of the most important RF parameter in CDMA, without it.. this application is not better than than the native debug mode app. three stars only...

This app worked well until today's 3.3 update. Now it won't open on my Motorola Photon Q (stock), instead giving me a "Unfortunately, CDMA Field Test Application has stopped" message. Uninstalled. Edit: Fixed the following day. Thank you!

Works great on an LG Optimus on Sprint. You need to know that Sprint's towers do not send out the coordinates of the tower itself but the (supposed) center of the sector's coverage. Nice to see that it has a "close app" button unlike many other apps that need one!

T70%

Verizon now supressess cell site locations .....app is now useless other than RSSI info.

This is a good app to see signal strength but could use some work. Galaxy S3 under data type says eHRPD and evdo RSSI: NULL but on the evo LTE, it has the correct dBm where it says NULL on the S3

E70%

Just as they described. Very happy :)

It found local towers more accuratley than Open Signal did. I wish it updated the BSID in real time as my phone changed towers but oh well.
