The English version of the Nihon Sumo Kyokai's official sumo app, "Grand Sumo" is finally here!
Browse Honbasho data for free and watch a new video once a day, including highlights from the Honbasho to the next Banzuke announcement.
Use the Gohiiki feature to register up to one of your favorite Rikishi for free and get Torikumi results via notifications.

Feature 1: Browse Torikumi and special featured videos as much as you want, no limits!
Watch all Makuuchi Torikumi (approx. 300/basho) in near real-time, and browse historic Makuuchi Torikumi going back to the May 2010 Honbasho.
Ordinarily, you are limited to browsing special videos for like someone's Hatsudohyo between Basho and famous Torikumi once a day, but now that limit is uncapped.
Feature 2: Use the Gohiiki feature to check Torikumi results!
Register Gohiiki Rikishi to receive Torikumi results on your favorite Rikishi as notifications.
With the free version, you can only register up to one Rikishi, but becoming a Tanimachi lets you register up to 20. You can also register up to ten heya and Rikishi places of origin, letting you quickly access the Hoshitori.
Feature 3: Vote for Kanto-Seishin Rikishi from anywhere!
Normally, voting for Kanto-Seishin Rikishi is limited to Honbasho attendees, but by becoming a Tanimachi, you can vote from anywhere you like.
Feature 4: Remove ads!
When you launch the app, the advertisements shown on the bottom of the screen will no longer appear. This bonus is available only to Tanimachi!

To cancel a subscription, visit your My subscriptions page on Google Wallet and use the Cancel subscription buttons.

A nice app to have for basic info about sumo (rankings, match-ups, match results) specially if you are a new fan to the sport. The thumbnails/preview for the video gives away the outcome of the match. How about a snap of the initial charge instead so as not to spoil results. Thank you.

Lots of info, but very restricted. Unless you're a premium user, you only get to watch one video per day. That's pretty ridiculous. I think five would be satisfactory for non-subscribers.

I can excuse the lack of English translation for a lot of videos, but the "limit of one view per video per day unless you pay us" system is horribly designed. Pause an eleven-minute video one minute in and come back to your phone 30 seconds later? Too bad, that counts as a view and you have to wait a day before you can try again!

I really enjoy using this app, its great for quickly looking up the results of the day, or just some info about the rikishi. Sadly the videos do not work for me. I am unsure if its because I'm in the US or maybe some other reason. The video start playing and then just stops after 1 second. After that it tells me I watched my one video for the day. I am tempted to upgrade my account, but I don't want to if the videos don't work, because that would be pointless

Doesn't work , ERROR 10503, everyday for the last 2 months on my note 3. Support has not resolved this issue. Update: Tried deleting and reinstalling over a dozen times through several weeks and still no fix by support, wasted money for tanimuchi subscribe and it doesn't work - error 10503

I do like this app and I have signed up as a premium member however navigating between the apps menus is painfully slow and Im using and LGG3. Also an English translation of the menus would be a nice touch just for ease of use for beginners.
